A student at a school in your nation has accused said school of infringing his right to Freedom of Speech. The Student says that they were suspended for wearing a t-shirt protesting a foreign policy recently instated in your nation. The school claims it violated their dress policy. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

No, just like the United States or any other country, there is a uniform to go to school. Violation of this leads to disciplinary action.

A man has claimed his rights of Religious Freedom were infringed. Testimonies of witnesses have concluded that said man was walking on a sidewalk, when he kneeled down and began to pray. He was soon escorted off the sidewalk by a private security guard. The man says that the prayer's time was a part of his religious faith, while the guard says that the man was on the grounds of a place of worship towards another religion. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

Depends, but most likely yes. Since this says 'sidewalk' Im assuming this is public domain, and the man was peaceful. However, if this was private property and the man was acting in an aggresive manner towards other, I would say it is the proper thing to do under Noise Complaint rules.

An infamous anarchist in your nation has claimed a person violated his right to "not be beat the sh*t out of when i walk down the street, man!". Testimonies of the witnesses have concluded that the anarchist was walking down the street, showing no possibly offensive remarks, when a person seemed to recognize the man's previous action of burning the national flag, and literally walked over and beat the sh*t out of said anarchist. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

Yes it is. Even though the punishment for this type of crime (defamation the image of the country) is death, the people have no write to 'prosecute' him by themselves, therefore everyone would receive corrections actions.

The college claims it was "just and necessary", while the college student says he only blogged things about the "inner secrets" of campus life. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

Most likely, if the inner secrets were just normal things, they did not have a right, however if the content was explicit, the blog should be shut down.

The police arrested him after they were on coffee and donuts break, cruising down a residential street, when they noticed a garage door slightly open, with some questionable weapons/tools inside.  Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

No its not. In the United States this law exists, if the officers see something without entering the house they have a right to go inside and take it, regardless of our consent towards the 4th amendment.

A foreign delegate has said his rights of diplomatic immunity under the law was violated when he made a joke during a commercial domestic flight. He was arrested, for what Marshals onboard called "taking freedom of speech to the extreme of threatening national security". Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

No it is not. If the Officials in power decided to detain the individual, it is ok because of the fact that he was threatening the National Security of the Country.

A 10 year old's parents claim their child's general Freedom of Expression and several other rights were violated when he was expelled from a school for writing something about your nation on his desk. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

No it is not because of freedom of speech, however if it goes to a threatening matter, it is an affirmative decision.

The student:
Disregard his complaints. The school has to enforce the national dress code policy.

The prayer:
He would be sentenced to 2 months in prison.

The anarchist:
Violation of rights. The attacker would be sentenced to a prison term, depending on how badly the anarchist was hurt.

The blogger:
Violation of rights. The school would be investigated.

The suspect:
No. The police are required to arrest anyone they suspect of taking part in a murder. We don't have the "reasonable search and seizure" law.

The delegate:
No. It is illegal to cause panick in public areas/planes.

The student:
Yes. He is only ten years old, and thus the incident should have been dismissed.

Schools are a place of learning and should be an environment where discussion can take place within an appropriate forum. The student would be asked to remove his/her t-shirt in favor of a less confrontational one for appropriate dress code policy.

Freedom of Speech means freedom of reprisal or censorship from Government, it doesn't mean no consequences though. While appropriate legal action would be taken, it wouldn't be a violation of his rights.

A school funded and ran newspaper then the school reserves the right to shut it down. Still in the technology age there is no way the school can prevent him from blogging.

Yes. However, the anarchist burnt the flag of TurtleShroom, and wasn't caught, until now. While the mugger would recieve the sentance in prison for assault, the flag burner would also recieve his month and his humiliation for burning the TS flag, a federal misdemeanor.

No. The blog was hosted on the college and by the college, and the kid was a student there. The college owns his blog and can therefore do what they like with it. In addition, depending on what he shared, he may get some Corporal Punishment if his parents consented to the paddling contract.
Of course, the Internet is banned in TurtleShroom, so his computer shouldn't have that problem.

Yes. The police must always have a warrent to search for anything and everything in any place. Police privacy laws are immensely strict.
That being said, if the man was actually found guilty for murder, the unlawfully seized evidence would still be counted, and he would be put to death by Lethal Injection.

Probably not. What did he say? Did he threaten to kill someone, bomb something, or otherwise bring harm to the government or citizenry of TurtleShroom? Diplomatic immunity barely exists in TurtleShroom, because those who visit are expected to play by our rules, just as we do with our diplomats in theirs.

Yes. Desk grafitti does not usually warrent expulsion. The proper punishment would be corporal punishment (or a lot of detention if the parents refused to sign the Paddling Contract) by the principal/dean/headmaster/administrator in their office with one witness.

Yes.Since he is a foreign delegate,he is allowed to say that. But he will be notified that this was a major faux-pas and that he should refrain from doing so again.

Yes.Since he is still ten,he is viewed as a minor. But he still will go to a weekly class in the community center to deal with his unpatriotic behavior. But if it is found that he is unpatriotic because of his parents, that is a different story(for the parents).

Yes it is, unless the t-shirt somehow violated an actual rule, law, or right of another: As an example, Lythandris Academy bans all depictions of buildings on fire due to the school itself having been firebombed during a terrorist attack. If the student in question wore a t-shirt with a burning house on Lythandris grounds, the school is within its right to suspend him so long as they gave him a chance to avoid suspension by changing his shirt, ect.

Yes, it is, although such an event is unlikely as Eidenn has no official or majority religion. However, should such a case be brought to the attention of authorities, it would be ruled a violation of free will and the security guard would be reprimanded and fined, as would his employer should he have been following their instructions.

Hm. While Eidenn does look down (and I mean really down) on non-patriotic individuals, and anarchist are practically reviled, Eidenn also looks down on public brawling. The anarchist would likely be fined or given jailtime if he hadn't yet been punished for his previous crime; irregardless, the assaulter would likely be fined heavily for assault and disturbing the peace. So yes, it would violate Eidenn's civil rights, but it might be an unpopular ruling with a good chunk of the populace.

It depends. Exposing injustice, criminal activity, ect is perfectly fine and in fact encouraged; however, violating the personal and civil rights of others, including the right of privacy, justifies the shutting-down of the blog. Talking about how professors pressure disliked students to drop courses is fine; blogging about that totally awesome kegger last week is fine; posting pictures, ect, of some girl at the kegger being molested while drunk would be seen as a failure to be a good citizen and do something helpful, and would nab the blogger a fine and jailtime at the least; posting a vid from a camera-phone of two people having sex in the janitor's closet would be a violation of their personal rights and should result in the blog being shut down. Removing the offensive content would allow him to revive his blog, though.

Once more, circumstances depend. If they saw a chainsaw, and someone in the area had recently been chainsawed to death, the cops had the right to detain him for questioning whether or not they were on duty, in the interests of public security. If a bloody bat was sticking out of the garage, that's similarly a good call. If there was no obvious reason for arrest but the suspect is in fact the murderer, the concept of violated rights will be given lip-service as the press works the story to get a conviction anyway. Eidennites are a very practical people.

Yes, although the situation's actual fallout would depend on whether or not the delegate was actually endangering Eidenn's security. If he was, then the situation should have been defused in a better, more subtle way; as-is, the Marshals who arrested him are so fired.

Counts as a violation, since I seriously doubt a fifth-grader could write anything on his desk that would be damaging in some way to the country. Depending on what it was, though, counseling for the child and/or his parents might be recommended.

The Student says that they were suspended for wearing a t-shirt protesting a foreign policy recently instated in your nation. The school claims it violated their dress policy. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

It would be a violation of the school's dress policy as schools have uniforms that students have to wear, therefore it is not a matter of a lack of freedom of speech as that does not even come into the situation.

No action would be taken, the man has the right to pray and the other man has the right to tell him to pray somewhere else, however if he was activally stopping the first man from praying anywhere this guard would be acting outside the law, even though no action would be taken.

Yes, the anarchist could have the man done for assault, though why anyone would take offence at the flag being burned when that is the only respectful way of disposing of it would be beyond any official.

A college student has claimed his rights to Free Press were violated when his blog was shut down by the College staff. The college claims it was "just and necessary", while the college student says he only blogged things about the "inner secrets" of campus life. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

Not really, freedom of speech is important but the college can shut down a blog that could ruin the schools reputation.

A person said his right to Reasonable Search and Seizure were violated when he was arrested for murder. The police arrested him after they were on coffee and donuts break, cruising down a residential street, when they noticed a garage door slightly open, with some questionable weapons/tools inside. No, police can arrest any suspect if they feel that he might have commited the crime, of course he will get a fair trial and if he is found inncent then good for him, he didn't kill anyone.

A foreign delegate has said his rights of diplomatic immunity under the law was violated when he made a joke during a commercial domestic flight. He was arrested, for what Marshals onboard called "taking freedom of speech to the extreme of threatening national security". Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

The air marshal would be the one under scruitny, telling a joke is not an offence. Unless of course he was joking about something serious such as terrorism that could be interprited as meaning he would commit or endorse such an act, but that would only cause him to be deported.

A 10 year old's parents claim their child's general Freedom of Expression and several other rights were violated when he was expelled from a school for writing something about your nation on his desk. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

The child is allowed to write or say what he likes about the nation and if the parents manage to contact the right authorites can have the child returned to school, however in future he might want to write on paper instead of the desk, cleaners have enough work to do without graffitti.

Unlikely to happen here, given the British culture that influenced our nation.

Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

No, he's an anarchist.

No, they had every right to shut him down. In turn, he had the right to challenge them- but again, we're not going to listen to him.

A student at a school in your nation has accused said school of infringing his right to Freedom of Speech. The Student says that they were suspended for wearing a t-shirt protesting a foreign policy recently instated in your nation. The school claims it violated their dress policy. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

Uniforms are specified down to the most minute detail and standards are strictly upheld, protesting the government is also a severe crime. The student would become a slave owned by the state and sent to either a labour camp, or into the military

No.

A violation has occurred here, but flag burning is an illegal act, so the anarchist would subsequently be brought to trial.

Yes, providing said items did not question any governmental policy regarding the college.

No. Police can do almost anything.

No. There is no diplomatic immunity - all visitors are expected to abide entirely by our laws. Hence the delegate would be put on trial.

It depends what was written. Anything questioning / criticizing our nation would lead to the child being made a slave of the state. Anything in support would be highly praised, and the school would likely put the desk on display as a work of art.

1) A student at a school in your nation has accused said school of infringing his right to Freedom of Speech. The Student says that they were suspended for wearing a t-shirt protesting a foreign policy recently instated in your nation. The school claims it violated their dress policy. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

---If the school has a specific dress policy, then NO it is not an infrigment of her rights.

2) A man has claimed his rights of Religious Freedom were infringed.

---The Republic of Yousand's government does not involve itself with matters of religion.

---It was a violation of his rights, as he was doing nothing offensive at that time. However, if it is proven that he burnt the national flag, he would be arrested for treason, which is one of the few crimes punishable by death.

4) A college student has claimed his rights to Free Press were violated when his blog was shut down by the College staff. The college claims it was "just and necessary", while the college student says he only blogged things about the "inner secrets" of campus life. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

---Yes this is a violation of his rights.

5) A person said his right to Reasonable Search and Seizure were violated when he was arrested for murder. The police arrested him after they were on coffee and donuts break, cruising down a residential street, when they noticed a garage door slightly open, with some questionable weapons/tools inside. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

---No this is not a violation of his rights, providing the officers involved did not force there way into the property. If the door was open, and the officers were suspicious, they were right to investigate.

6) A foreign delegate has said his rights of diplomatic immunity under the law was violated when he made a joke during a commercial domestic flight. He was arrested, for what Marshals onboard called "taking freedom of speech to the extreme of threatening national security". Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

---Yes this is a violation of his rights. The Marshals could however, put him on the first flight back home.

7) A 10 year old's parents claim their child's general Freedom of Expression and several other rights were violated when he was expelled from a school for writing something about your nation on his desk. Is this a violation of rights in your nation?

---Yes, the child caused criminal damage, for which the parents would be liable. However, expulsion may have been a bit overboard, but that is upto the School Board of Governors to decide.

No. Schools are private property, and may impose reasonable restrictions on their students in order to teach them.

Nope. Claiming a religious duty is insufficient reason to block the sidewalk, whether it is public or private. People with private duties should be responsible enough to carry them out without interfering with other people.

We don't recognize a right against assault per se, but the person who attacked him is guilty of assault and battery.

We need more information to decide. If the college owns the computer on which the blog resides, then it may say how it is used. If, conversely, the college was blocking access to a public blog site deliberately to censor the student, then it is liable for damages. Note that as with the assault case above, this is not a denial of rights per se.

We need more information to decide. If, for instance, the suspicious objects were in plain view through the ajar door, then the search is reasonable. In most other cases, the search is a violation of the defendent's rights.

Do note that we do not have the curious view of the law held in other nations that somehow two wrongs make a right. The evidence against the accused is still valid, but the police were also guilty of the crime of rights violation. We have elected public prosecutors whose job is to keep the government honest.

We need more information to decide. There are two parts to the question, one about the speech rights of non-citizens and one about diplomatic immunity.

With respect to the first, what was the joke? What was the context in which it was made? Would a reasonable person conclude that it was a threat?

Diplomatic immunity is not a right, but a treaty obligation. Diplomats are entitled to certain broad protections so long as they act in certain broadly-defined ways.
