So this isn't about age of consent, or even when someone is legally considered an adult in YN, but rather when someone is considered an adult by the cultural standards of your people. Like, in the US you are considered an adult by 18 but in many cultures u are considered an adult way earlier or way later. So what is it in your nation?

In Purpelia one is legally considered an adult when one completes the state controlled mandatory primary education. So no earlier than 16. However this does not really matter that much as there are very few restrictions on what a non adult can do. And drinking, sex and other such fun things are NOT among those. Really, the only thing you can't legally do as a juvenile is get a job and join the military.

This being said there is one important thing being an adult gives you. And that's independence from parents or caretakers. An individual that has not yet accomplished this milestone is legally considered to be in their care of ones parents (or lacking parents caretakers of some sort) who in turn have legal privilege over him. In other words the rights of the juvenile are in control of his caretakers. And these can make executive decisions even against said juveniles will.

A famous example of that would be the right of parents to forbid their children have sex even though it would otherwise be legal for them to do so as well as the rights of parents to give consent to sex even if the child is not in the mood to do the same. And in both cases the parents word is heeded and the childs ignored.

You are a smárkind (a small child, not quite a child but no longer a baby) until you turn 6, when you are sworn into your Family, a child until you are 16, and then you are an adult until you die.

In Arthropol, the legal age of majority is age 16. However, there are some exceptions to these rules concerning other rights. For example, the age of consent is 14, and there is no legal minimum drinking age. To be conscripted into the military, one needs to have finished school, and be between the ages of 18 and 25. To serve professionaly in the military, one needs to be either 21 years old, or have completed one year of conscription.

There's a few regional, local, and class differences which may lower or raise the threshold, or which might impose a few more requirements, but culturally speaking most nationals of the PM would agree someone is "adult" if they check at least two or maybe three of the following requirements:

—you've finished any form of secondary education within the Prut system of education, or a system that's sufficiently similar
—you've completed your term of civil service (usually military training) and got your first public "Sold"
—you've proven yourself capable and resourceful in a context not expected from a minor (usually taking care of younger siblings/relatives after a family tragedy, often by working a job to support the family; sometimes might include surviving and/or helping others survive exceptional circumstances—emergencies, natural disasters, crises; most situations requiring a certain degree of maturity or which lead to someone maturing sooner than expected)
—you've joined the Heliandist community via the traditional fire baptism rite
—you've turned 24*

*just turning twenty-four by itself alone does not qualify; you have to be educated, accepted by the religious community, or have completed your civil service to be legally recognised as adult

You're usually considered an adult in legal terms at 16-18 years old, depending on which island you are on. In the island where the capital is (Okinawa, but only the left half) It would be 17. As a general rule, the further north you go, the older you have to be in order to be an adult in legal terms. It even borders on being 19 in the northernmost islands (the former Kumage Subprefecture).

Traditionally, a rite of passage would be held when someone turned 16. The participant would walk on a narrow board with the "Three Stones of Passage", which were a pack of arrows, a heavy stone, and a torch. The goal is to make it on the other side of a hole specifically dug for the ritual, usually on the side of a mountain. While it is still done today, it has fallen out of favour with many people, and the holes aren't dug as deep or on as steep a surface as they used to be.

For legal purposes, it is age 16, but you are not legally allowed to do most things that adults do until age 18, or in some cases 21. 16 is just the old mark used to determine when noble children can rule without a regent, and still applies in that context.

After the auspicious Revolution, the coming of age barrier was completely dismantled. All children are treated like adults, and are expected to fulfill any task an adult could complete.

Legally - At age 5, or upon reaching a score of "fully sapient" on the Standardized Sapience Test, whichever comes first.

For us, this age corresponds roughly to the human age of 18. Since we do not have to wait for brains to literally grow to maturity in order to be able to think properly, we reach adulthood much faster than humans. The speed is mostly determined by life experiences, challenges, and suchlike. This is why there is regularly-scheduled testing during the young years to determine the amount of responsibility someone should be assigned for their actions.

Socially - One is generally considered an adult when he participates in his first successful raid against another planet. This shows that he can fulfill the most common role of a Decepticon, which is as an oil raider. Someone who hasn't raided is treated as a kid in all of the bad ways (lack of respect, etc.) and none of the good, even if he is over 100 years old. Needless to say, even the most peaceful wimp will soon do at least one raid to pass this unofficial rite of passage.

He must also take on his own name instead of using the one given to him by his Coder. This shows that he has developed his own personality, and importantly, is self-aware enough to come up with a name that truly fits it.

Someone is not considered an adult until their early 20's despite the fact that 16 is our legal age. It's because the late teens are immature sometimes and make bad decisions and are uncertain.

Legally-18 is the age to vote, have children, marry if one wants to, divorce, carry guns in public, drive, drink alcohol, take (most) drugs, ect, and it is also the age at which the death penalty/Life without parole can be meted out for treason, rape, pedophilia and murder (technically those as young as 10 can be executed but it is extremely unlikely even for first degree murder and illegal before 18 to execute or give Life without parole for any other crime.)
Socially-varies, but can be as young as 16 if your peer group agrees.

As science shows even at the age of 18, the body, in particular the brain, is still developing, so we utilize an incremented system towards full adulthood. Starting at the age of 16, Riceballs can begin to fly aircraft, file taxes, get jobs, own businesses, use cannabis and psychoactive drugs, and drive Zambonis. At 20 they get more freedoms, in particular the right to serve in the military, vote, run for any federal office, and own & operate their own miniguns, flamethrowers, and rocket launchers. Finally, at age 24, one is considered a full adult, and can now do anything an adult can do, namely move out on their own, own their own property, drink, handle hazardous materials, and shave expletives into their hair if they want.

As far as Onigiri culture is concerned, many children are considered to be adults when they can successfully steal a box of their neighbor's Fruity Pebbles (breaking and entering is not considered a crime in The Onigiri Enclave as so long as it is done exclusively for the purpose of stealing boxes of Fruity Pebbles cereal from the homeowner or other residents of the domicile).
