The government sponsored 'Esquema nutricional futuro' 'has hit the news waves yet again, this time due to a bad food quality review by majority agencies. The scheme which intends to provide free nutrition for poor school children all over the country had made news earlier when it had been hailed as being 'Overly Socialist' by opposition members and business magnates publickly.

Now however the scheme faces a problem of an entirely different magnitude as food quality inspections by the Central American Health organisation and several affliates which began on 28th December 2018 and ended on Friday has released its official report. According to the report, the nutrition value of the food served is 'Sub-Par' and the Hygiene rating has come out to be a 'Definite 2/10' according to the review manager and WHO spokesperson Mr.Agustin Allende.
Earlier also, local review agencies had fired the scheme for being corrupted and unsupported. The scheme had also come under pressure from Socialist groups under whos pressure the scheme had been started in the first place. According to them, the scheme had started out well but had quickly turned into a 'Capitalist Sham of siphooning money to politicians' .

"This is a wake up call for the central government" said Col.Juan Carrilo, spokesperson of PSP(Panamian Socialist party).

Mr.Augusto Baroquin, CEO of 'Villa Foods' also made a statement "This is the final proof that such socialist policies are frankly impossible to work just like Socialism, what the government needs to do is take out tenders for providing good food to the poor at lower costs than market prices and encourage healthy competition."

However Senior Miguel Anna, Cabinet member and overseer of the scheme has a different explanation for this event which has sparked more controversy, his official statement has been "This whole review is completely baseless, as are the allegations. We have always strived to maintain the good quality of our food to encourage the development of a bright future for the country's children, as such we have also received reports that the 'Central American Health Organization' is in cahoots with big time monopolies and the far right, investigations on the company are on "

Jorge Vasquez, owner of the great 60000 acre Vasquez Ranch in Northern Panama has announced that he would be selling his historic property to 'Roberton hotels group'. The ranch, a land grant dating back to Spanish times had oft been deemed as a historic national property by various groups. In fact multiple referrals had been made to UNESCO in the past few decades to name it as a National Heritage site, the referrals however had been rejected almost always because the site was 100% private owned.

'Roberton hotels group' which is an international hospitality agency had earlier made the news when it acquired the 'Tocumen city docks' last year.

"Frankly, my financial abilities to manage the vast ranch have been proving to be inadequate, I also have no kin to hand out the Ranch to, hence this decision which I declare as final" saiid Jorge Vasquez.

"I wish to say that the rumours that say we are going to demolish the site are fake, we merely plan to develop a resort on the ranch while keeping the Ranches husbandry activities on" said Mr.Jack Matson, CEO of Roberton Hotels Group.

No official price has been quoted yet.

Panama refuses to extradite Sudarshan Patil

On Monday, the Panamian foreign ministry has declared together with the Supreme court that Sudarshan Patil, who has allegedly committed financial fraud via questionable international transactions will not be extradited to India. The decision was made on the grounds that the Indian CBI has failed to provide enough proofs of their allegations.

Patil, a businessman from Mumbai had purchased the 'Panamian plastic corporation' in August 2018. However, the Central Bureau of Investigation in India claims that the transaction was made at a price more than that of the actual price of the company itself.

According to them, Patil had used the transaction to send money out of the country tax free(Panama is a tax haven) and by illegal means. They claim that the price of the company was only $75 million while Patil had paid $110 million.

Patil fled India in October 2018, a week before he was due for questioning. He has since been living at the Martinez mansion in Tocumen, Panama.

The Indian government has made multiple appeals to the Panamian justice departments to extradite Patil since November 2018. However, the decision on Monday has been deemed final.

"Patil can live for as long as he wants in Panama, our law allows him to, we will not extradite him at least for now" said the Chief justice.

"We are deeply saddened by this attitude of the Panamian government" said Mehul Vaishya, spokesperson for the Indian CBI.

SPME to build luxury yacht port in Costa Del Este

The small town of Costa Del Este is up for a major change in its commute as SPME(SP.Matson Engineering) has finally received the contract to build and operate a massive International 'Yacht and Cruiseship port' for the super rich on Wednesday. The contract has been valued at $89 million and has been finalized after nearly 3 years of negotiations and plans.

The company had first made an appeal to the Panamian government in December 2015 about the project, then it was valued at $127 million. The project has been named Çosta Del Este angelport' . The port has mainly been planned with foreign nationals in mind as primary customers. The port plans to provide "Among other things safety and rich amenities, 24/7 services, international trained labour, a place for people who choose to live half the year on their yacht" according to an official statement by the Morgan group.
The port would cover a large area of the currently desolate coastal area. This would be done by demolishing a nearly 75 acres of swampland. The demolition itself would be done via advanced techniques that had never been used before and had thus hindered the development of infrastructure in the region.
This demolition has been given the safety rating of +5 out of 10 by all the major National Nature reservation NGO's and groups in Panama.

Mr.Carmen Diego, head of SPME operations in Panama mentioned that "It may also possibly... provide jobs to local people of the town".

International Economic Analyst Jordan Wellington put it in extremely blunt but optimistic words "In the short run, the Panamian government in desperately in need of such deals to maintain their low tax rates(Which are the mainstay of the nation's economy) and still not go bankrupt".

Lastly, a major concern that SPME has to face is a danger to the construction crews as local Socialist Terrorist guerillas have issued a stern warning to not go forward with the construction "Or face death" . However, according to Mr.Diego, this concern has been cleared because the Panamian army has stepped in to help and the SPME group has been given permission to operate their own private security forces in the area.

Other details as to the dimensions of the port are yet to be declared.

SPME to Decimate Local environment to build decadent yacht port in Costa Del Este

The Newly proposed "Luxury Yacht Port" that will be built is further proof that the current government in Revolutionario Democratico Panama does not care about the environment, or for that matter, the citizens who live near the soon to be developed site. The destruction of 75 acres of swamp land is an environmental disaster that can not be reversed, leading to the death of thousands of animals and habitats, decimating the local ecosystem as well as migration habits of other animals who travel though the area. Not only does this short sited decision by the company and government mean the death of an entire ecosystem, but, Swamp land does not make an effective or long term stable building area, and this will inevitably lead to the port suffering form structural and other environment related issues.

While this scheme is being praised for local job creation and bringing wealth to the area, it however, will also bring massive amounts of noise and environmental pollution during construction, and then copious amounts of Air pollution due to the influx of inefficient boats that will surely decrease air quality over the operational life of the port. The local economy, that may be receiving investment for this period, will be in no way benefiting local workers. This new development will only aid corporations and landlords who will price locals out of their own homes to make way for a bourgeois class who will spend wealth they exploited for their workers on overpriced goods, with the only outcome for the workers being further exploitation in worsened conditions for less wages. Not only this but the Private security, that the site shall utilise, will likely be discriminatory towards locals as they have no moral motive, but a profit one, to protect their Capitalist masters, being sure to defend their owners, regardless of who is at fault in any given situation, while leaving the local population with a underfunded and ineffective local police force who's ranks will surely be recruited form leaving it understaffed.

We believe that this is a step in the wrong direction for the nation and that subjecting citizens to a Capitalist class that does not care for their needs, culture, or lively hoods, but care more for their own bank balances and freedom to exploit local resources and populations for their own pleasure.

American investment giant Rockseller Financial Services has raised as much as $1.5 Billion, partly from its own portfolio and the rest from a variety of foreign investors, including Insurance companies and pension funds as it seeks to profit from an unprecedented bad loan clean up in Panama's financial system.

The company will use the funds, which makes it one of the the largest Panama dedicated foreign investement unit, to buy and turn around stressed assets with "Potential for generating good cashflows and regrowth after loan recovery" according to an official written statement from the head office of the company.

The company already manages stressed loans of more than $750 million in Panama and about a total of $3 billion in Central America as a whole according to analysts.

"This new investment will give much needed breathing space for fatigued Panamian banks riddled with a large amount of bad unpaid debt" says Investment analyst Mrs.Alicia De'Souza.
"Debt is bad, but giving it to foreign companies is like selling our nation's problems and also selling yourself in the process" said Left wing spokesperson Mr.Jon Blera.

What are stressed loans and what is Rockseller doing for dummies.

Stressed loans in simple terms are basically companies and company assets or construction projects that have great potential for profit, but have become unable to generate the same due to a multitude of loan issues with banks. In this case, these companies make a steady loss because most of their earnings go off to pay bank loans. Soon, it gets to a point where the company can no longer afford being in business altogether and start negotiating with the banks for getting rid of the loans with a compromise.

Like say for ex- Your company, called 'Company A' has become stressed(But it has great potential to make enormous profit) and you have loans of around $10. Then, you go to your loaner bank to say that you can no longer pay the debt. Now there are 11 other such companies other than yours. Now suppose these companies are divided into 3 categories with 4 companies per category(Category one also has you).

Category 1: These are companies like yourself who have great potential for becoming profitable when the debt is payed off.
Category 2: These are medium companies which may or may not make good profits when debts are paid off.
Category 3: These are really bad companies that have gone beyond the point of no return.

Now the bank itself is fatigued because of these bad debts. What companies like Rockseller do is that they agree to pay off the debt at a compromised amount say $6 rather than the original $10. But they will also buy all the category 3 company assets as well.
The fatigued banks agree. Something is better than nothing after all.

After the debts are payed. The Rocksellers put the nice category 1 and the less nicer category 2 companies at sale to intelligent buyers at their original 'Good' price which is, corresponding to their loan, $10 atleast.
Then they also sell off the Category 3 assets to salvage what they can.

Thus, Rockseller profits and the banks get atleast some of their loan amount back.

American finger food giant Doctor Rice has teamed up with local Panamian corporations to run a new scheme "Good food at low prices" in the country. It is to be started from March 2019. The Scheme shall provide nutritional food at the lowest possible prices at specified canteens in more than 10 Dozen Panamian government schools to specially cater to the poor children.

The Scheme has a lot of support from the ministry and it has been given a food review of 8.5/10 by nutrition critic agencies from all over Central America.

The Scheme has been started with a mammoth initial investment of $2.5 million and is set to go up fast.

" This new scheme would be much better than most government nutrition schemes and will only contribute to a better future for Panama's next generation" said Manuella Corigo, the CEO of Drogas company and affliate with Doctor Rice's scheme.

Victor Guarma, former head and builder of Guarma Steels has bashed out at his son Fernando Guarma, the present owner of Guarma Steels group after being forced to resign from his position on the board of the company on Tuesday by the latter.

According to Victor Guarma(70), the decision had been made by his son under the influence of some other directors(That we chose not to name) who wanted to end the company's policy of helping the poor. In an interview on Wednesday, he said "Greed has blinded my son, he sees nothing but money, and since I did not see eye to eye with him, he removed me".

The 70 year old Entrepreneur, who had always held 'Morality' over 'Wealth' had handed over the reins of his company to his only son Fernando in 2015 on the account of 'Not feeling energetic'. He had transferred all but 5% of shares to his son at the same time and ad retained himself only as a member of the Board of directors of the company. It is rumoured that the two had many disagreements over the past 3 years and that is what, according to Victor Guarma has led to this decision.

However, Fernando Guarma had a different version of events. According to him his father has been removed from the company purely for professional reasons.
"My father has not been in the best of health for the last 2 years and has frequently missed board meetings, furthermore, he has made many crucial errors in his job over the last 1 and a half years. We had tried to brush off these errors for much time, but finally we had to take this decision on Tuesday on account of another failure of attendance in our Annual Board meeting, thus, his bashing of me and the company seems false and unethical to me and I implore him to stop" said Fernando Guarma.

When asked if he would like to file a case against his son, Victor simply replied, "No, this much heartbreak is enough for me, peace" .

Eighteenth Yohannesian Emperor and President of the Electoral College

The Yohannesian government both acknowledges and highly values the significant contribution the charitable and community sector makes to Panamanian society. Since October 2018, when my colleague The Right Honourable Annabelle Thorndon-Stevensonn, the forty-seventh Chancellor of the Nineteen Countries, publicly acknowledged the importance of community and voluntary organisations to the health of the Revolutionary Republic of Panama, the Thirty-sixth Christian Democratic Executive Council has been working to create a lasting relationship with the Panamanian community sector.

Following on from The Rt Hon Annabelle Thorndon-Stevensonn’s parliamentary initiative came the ratification of the Agreement for Investment, Trade and Charities Services Relationship with Revolutionary Panama Act 2018—which included a series of policy and technical notices showcasing the Yohannesian government’s intentions for an improved community-government relationship with Revolutionary Panama by 2020. The parliamentary select committee report supporting our initial policy framework was published just last week. And next month will see the creation of the Office of Revolutionary Panama Charitable Sector Cooperation to improve coordination between Yohannesian commercial and industrial enterprises and Panama’s charitable and community sector. Our decision to successfully table the amendment to the Act for 2019 is further evidence to our commitment to maintaining bilateral friendship and economic cooperation with the Revolutionary Government of Panama.

Our amendment bill will allow for the creation of a new body corporate, the Revolutionary Panama Charitable Commission. The commission’s primary function will be to administer a registration and monitoring system between Yohannesian companies and Panamanian charitable organisations. The commission will also be responsible for educating and assisting registered charitable partners, approved contributing parties, and other Yohannesian participants to comply with their regulatory duties and responsibilities to the Panamanian state. Also, the commission will analyse, report on, and produce policy statements and recommendations on any matters relating to Panamanian charities; will improve and stimulate research into any matter relating to Panamanian charities partnership in the Nineteen Countries; and will execute any other functions the Chancellor of the Nineteen Countries may require it to achieve to solidify bilateral friendship between our two nations.

When I was in legal practice before joining the Christian Democratic Party to be involved in parliament, I helped to create a number of trusts under various charity policy agreements with other Yohannesian trading partners. Through the years, I tried to ask myself the following question: “What sort of control exists for some of the more questionable voluntary organisations—how can I better policy efficiency and improve government transparency?” I did table inquiries into the then Select Committee on Foreign Relations about what type of regulatory measure exists for foreign charity organisations involving themselves with Yohannesian body corporates and companies of the citizen sector.

I am committed to ensuring that the community will benefit from better government transparency—for I know where my priorities lie. The hard-working and vulnerable members of our society. The Revolutionary Government of Panama has been a supportive partner in overseeing fast growth in investment and trade of Yohannesian commercial and industrial enterprises in Panama. For this reason, I’m committed to ensuring that our investment and charitable entities will increase their contributions to the hard-working people of Panama.

This amendment to our existing Act of friendship represents a major step forward for bilateral cooperation—beyond the fields of commerce and trade—between Revolutionary Panama and the Realm of fiords and mountain. The commission that is the Office of Revolutionary Panama Charitable Sector Cooperation will be legislated into reality to become a one-stop shop, and will adopt a whole-of-government approach, where public service agencies will cooperate across portfolio boundaries to achieve their shared goals in Panama with contributing, government-vetted corporate members of the Yohannesian citizen sector.
