Origin of your people

[Great Mojave]

Plucky mormons, escaped slaves, fleeing southerners, and other such folk from east of the Rockies. We were originally founded as a Mormon theocracy, but have definitely shifted to the libertarian, free market, secular direct democracy we are today.

[Vekkta]

The Vekktan people originated form many different parts of Earth, mostly Europe.

The Vekktan people have since mutated to better survive on Vekkta and are considered an entirely different race.

[Shalotte]

The precise origins of the Shalotte ethnolinguistic group are largely mysterious.

It is generally agreed upon by experts that human habitation on the Shalotte archipelago began in around 1,000 B.C. and was followed by several waves of settlers until around 800 B.C., at which point no further migrations took place, and the Shalottes entered into a prolonged period of isolation.

What is unclear, however, is how they arrived on the islands in the first place, or from where they came. The archipelago's location in the middle of the Sea of Debruné is extremely isolated, with the nearest landmass a vast distance away - far enough that the technology of the era would seem to have precluded those early settlers from having sailed there even by accident, let alone as part of a concerted, multi-wave colonisation effort. This is further compounded by the turbulent and often-stormy conditions of the surrounding waters.

Some experts have proposed that they may have arrived via a now-submerged land bridge instead, but there is no evidence in either the geological, archaeological, or historical records to support the existence of such a vast land bridge.

Most agree that these proto-Shalottes were of Bronze Age Celtic origins; archaeological discoveries have found comparable artefacts, and the Hebrédan language itself appears to have vague roots in the earliest, overarching proto-Celtic language. But any similarities in terms of culture, religious beliefs, or language between Shalottes and any specific Celtic group like the Gaels or the Manx are extremely superficial at best, and historians have been unable to draw a plausible link between any of them.

Some historians have argued that the proto-Shalottes may have originated from a now-lost, equally-distinct Celtic group that were themselves islanders, and that they fled from a now-submerged home that would have been located somewhere along the midpoint between the modern Shalotte archipelago and the next-nearest landmass. If true, this might explain how the early settlers were able to make the journey with the technology of the time, why there were so many successive waves of apparently-related settlers, and why the Shalottes today appear to defy comparison with any group known in the archaeological record. As with the land bridge idea, however, there is no evidence to support this assertion.

For the time being, the exact origins of the Shalotte people remain a mystery.

[The Huterric Union]

Most of the Huterric people trace their roots back to the Huterric Continent and Northern Europe.

[Jerbasa]

The origin of Native Jerbasans is currently unknown, but it is believed they migrated into Jerbasa about 8,000 years ago. White Jerbasans arrived in the 1500s and colonized the country. Today, most of the population is considered mixed race. This is due to interracial marriages and relations between the Native and White Jerbasans over the years.

[Kodagok]

Our people find our origins around 450,000-430,000 years ago, when the first documented appearance of our people appeared. Originating from southwestern Europe, we expanded as far east as central asia before being driven up into Northern Europe by invaders from Africa. Those in northern Kodagok still retain mostly kodagok ancestry, and those in the south show significant admixturing with the Southern Europeans.

[Great Buptain and Toadstool]

In about 200 AD, Mario accidentally created a dimensional rift by entering a parallel universe in Hazy Maze Cave. This resulted in the Nintendo, Rare, and Sega universes invading Earth. Toads settled throughout the Roman Empire, Sonic's species settled in Germany and Eastern Europe, and Humans were chased to the Americas.

[Victorious Decepticons]

We invaded the Earth of our dimension from Planet Cybertron, and easily annexed it into the Decepticon Empire. Humans now serve as our slaves, mostly in mines, while the majority of the planet has reverted to forests and other wildlands.

This is sort of an ironic result for the humans, because it gave them two of the things they used to say they really wanted: Guaranteed jobs for everyone, and an end to almost all anthropomorphic environmental destruction. Granted, we did not invade for either of these purposes, but we enjoy how our rule ended up bringing about a situation that corresponds to the desires of the human generation that wished for those things...just in a way they never imagined.

[Nanna-Suen]

The posthumans who would later be called the Suenites originate on another world, referred to as Terra-9, which itself was colonised by posthumans 17,000 years ago. The Suenites were forcefully driven off of Terra-9 due to resource depletion. One of the remaining fractions of the fleeing population accidentally encountered the surprisingly desolate alderson disc during the relocation process.

[Aikoland]

The native Aikolandais are of predominantly Celtic origin.

[Union of Sovereign States and Republics]

The Eastern Slavs (Ukraine, Belarus, Russia) come from viking refugees, specifically mainly from Sweden. They come from the Kievan Rus', a tribal state which ruled over Russia for many years.

The Azerbaijani people are Turkish, and come from Central Asia and modern-day Iran.

The Central Asian people are also Turkish, and come from, obviously, Central Asia and, to an extent, China, mainly Ughyuristan (East Turkestan). The Tuvans count in this regard, with also being from Mongolia.

[Fodenia]

Like all Humans, the people of Fodenia can trace their roots right back to planet Earth. The different groups of the Republic do however have different origins:

The Andarians are a tall, pale race of Homo superior, a genetically-enhanced human species which traces its origins back to the middle classes of the developed world during the interplanetary age. A typical Andarian has straight fair or red hair, light blue or light green eyes, and a slightly ethereal appearance. The ancestors of most Andarians came from settlements in the outer Solar system which were aligned with the Anglo-Columbian sphere. They make up only around 5% of the population, and have strict controls on their breeding as they are biologically immortal

The Vantarians are a mid-sized, pale race who most resemble western Europeans. A typical Vantarian has dark, straight hair and hazel or dark green eyes, reflecting their descent from Anglish and Anglo-Columbian people from Earth. The ancestors of most Vantarians arrived from other space colonies in the Anglo-Columbian sphere, such as Good Hope, Holte and Paladin, and were usually sent to Minata Ring as a punishment for crimes committed in those societies. They make up around 23% of the population of Fodenia

The Harminata are a slightly below average, lightly tanned race, generally engineered by the Andarian leadership of Fodenia using North Guinean and West Oriental peoples as a base. They have the dark, curly hair and dark eyes which are typical of these groups. They were created right here on Minata Ring with the vast majority living in Fodenia itself, where they make up around 12% of the population

Finally, the Embani are an average, slim, dark-skinned race derived from a combination of peoples in the old Anglish colonies of Earth. They have dark, curly or wavy hair and dark eyes, with around 25% having epicanthic folds. Their ancestors were either brought straight from the Anglish colonies (and ex-colonies) of Earth or from the relatively young Dyson swarms in the "New Systems" such as Garrus and Ondewe. They make up around 60% of the Fodenian population

[Diarcesia]

The Diarcesi were descendants of Greeks who colonized what is now the Pronotus Peninsula around 1000 BC. The very first settlers sought to find "lost Atlantis beyond the Pillars of Hercules" who weren't able to return to Greece. Eventually some made their way back, and word of this new land brought more waves of colonists to it. City-states were later established and later developed a distinct culture from Greece proper.

As Groeder Arms Corp (Itself a subsidiary of the Axiom Corporation) has sites in many different countries, we employ personnel from around the world however the majority are US citizens.

[Islamic Republic e Jariri]

The original Jaririans were a mountainous tribal confederacy that eventually assimilated with external cultures.

[Ikelia]

The detailed origin of Ikelians, the indigenous inhabitants of the Archipelago of Meconanachia, is unknown. Ancient Ikelians are descendants of the Tribes of Ikel, who were conquered by the Roman Empire in 60 A.D.

Modern Ikelians are the result of interbreeding with migrating Germanic and Slavic tribes and Roman settlers.

[Las Palmeras]

Highly unknown if one refers to the so-called nekomimi. No fossil record exists prior to the near-end of the previous Ice Age; they are only found in Honshu in Japan and the Tohorinese Isle, the latter being located +2,700 km in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, to make matters more confusing.

Edel von Tanneberg has suggested extraterrestrial origins, but it is highly speculative.

[Mercatus]

Our nation's story begins on a planet called Terra II. It was one of humanity's first interstellar colonies. At the time, Mars was not heavily populated, in fact, none of the rocky bodies in the home system except for Earth had many people at all. This planet had breathable air and liquid water, but no native life of any kind. The colonists once worked in unison toward a common goal, a new life in a new system. However, their views on technological needs varied, and in 2134 began to show sharp divide. Mercatusian colonists expressed desire in cybernetics and warships, which the other colonists deemed an immoral use of a new planet. After a few heated political quarrels, civil war broke out. In 2167, Mercatusians went around plundering settlements and killing the people there. After the opposing colonists pleaded for mercy, they received no response. In secret, Mercatus had developed weapons, an air/space force, and a substantial ground force. On the bloody day of May 7, 2204, Mercatus led a full on assault on the other colonists largest settlement. Marines and soldiers wearing primitive power armor, as well as experimental fighter spacecraft, all flocked toward the settlement. When the spacecraft arrived, air-to-surface missiles were deployed, rendering most of the settlement burning rubble. When the marines arrived, they cleaned up after the bombings, killing anything and everything they saw. When the civil war was over, all that remained of the other faction was shattered settlements, leaking power plants, and rusting hulls of transport craft. The rest of the colonized universe was appalled by this, however, and placed sanctions on their faction. By this time, Mercatus was working on better propulsion systems for starships.They could only afford one, the MIV (Mercatusian Interstellar Vessel) Voyager, named after an ancient space probe displayed in the modern day Mercatusian relics museum. This vessel was expensive, using antimatter-matter reactions to cover distances faster than nuclear fusion. However, when the true power of the vessel in war and economics was shown, people were happy to trade with Mercatus. Many technological advances were made when Mercatus journeyed back to the solar system. They scanned Mars for an element called "Incredibilium" which had been discovered in a particle accelerator, and was very heavy but stable. When large deposits were found, mining operations began. This helped Merctaus jump ahead in the race to invent FTL travel, because its superconductive nature allowed for transport of the power necessary to create wormholes, and even made Mercatusian spaceship engines hyper efficient, being 204% efficient at the time, and as this technology was refined that number became 527% today. As well as travel it increased the power of Mercatusian weapons, giving them yet another strategic advantage. All of this has been a well-kept secret and continues to be so today. With this new technology, Mercatus left the milky way and settled in the Andromeda Galaxy and Megallanic Clouds, only using the milky way to mine Incredibilium.

This is almost a 500 year long origin story, and shaped Mercatus as it is today.

[Alathea]

There are several different groups of people in Alathea, all of whom have different origins:

Citizens

White Alatheans are the descendants of Imperial settlers from the colonial era. Most settlers were Anglish, although a small number were of Deutch and Teutonic origin
Black Alatheans are the descendants of Imperial settlers from the early colonial era and their native wives. Because nearly all of the early colonists were male they often intermarried with the local population

Subjects

White immigrants are the descendants of white immigrants from the post-colonial era. These people are typically of Gael or Polonie descent
Xola are members of the Xola tribe, the larger of the two tribes native to Alathea before the colonial era
Cama are members of the Cama tribe, the smaller of the two tribes native to Alathea before the colonial era
Black immigrants are not solely black, but are all immigrants that belong to a non-white race. In fact, there are more immigrants from Oriental states such as Barata, Huazia and Choyson than from other Guinean states

[Vespertia]

Vespertians supposedly come from a race of humanoids from southern Kolturm, a now-sunken strip of land between Kolturm and Vespertia and northern Vespertia. These humanoids were agile hunters, akin to wildcats. Eventually, they evolved into the vampires, which, while not as agile or ferocious as their ancestors were, are still stronger and more agile than regular humans. They also have become as civilised.

[Arevastan]

The Arevats'ik' (or Arevastanis) are the modern heirs to the heathen traditions of the Highlands of Ararat. In antiquity, many states flourished in the area of Arevastan, including the Hittites, Mittani, Hayasa-Azzi, Arme-Shupria, the Nairi Confederation, and the Kingdom of Urartu (860–590 BCE), who successively established their sovereignty over the Highland. Each of the aforementioned nations and tribes participated in the ethnogenesis of the Armenian people. Later Parthian and Medean conquerors left their imprint, particularly in regards to religion, which syncretized the native Armenian faith with Zoroastrianism. Adherents of this faith became the Arevats'ik'.

[Arkhane]

When Arkhaneans fled the Spires there was no time to procure the stores of knowledge, libraries and vaults of history. Most of the scholars and the learned were at the top and none survived when it collapsed. Only half of the Kingdom and the royal family survived.

That was over hundreds of years ago. Arkhane/Arcane literally means "hidden/lost".

[Bastaland]

The Bastalese people have many different origins. Our native populations include the Lonko, Eswili, Kanto, Lalengiri and Mbotsa peoples. It is believed that these groups emerged around the first century CE after moving in from the north, and pushed the previous inhabitants of the region out. In addition to these native groups there are a large number of colonial descendants, mainly including people of Anglish, Deutch, Gallic and Teutonic descent. Also dating back to the colonial era, there are the groups of people imported by the colonisers, such as Baratans and Huazians. Finally, there have also been many immigrants arriving from around the world since the beginning of the Dominion Era. These include people from many other different Guinean ethnicities (primarily from other Anglish dominions) as well as Western Orientals, Baratans, Huazians and many others. Overall we are a proud, multiracial state. Although we have many origins, we are one people

[Geska]

The original inhabitants of Geska were Brythonic Celts, who from the 6th century were gradually displaced by invading Norse peoples, the descendants of whom make up the majority of modern Gesks. In the subsequent centuries, there have also been occasional waves of migration from Great Britain (particularly Scotland) and continental Europe; for example, a small community of Huguenots settled here during the 17th century to escape persecution in France, and their influence can be found in the many French-derived surnames used on the island.

[Monsone]

The original peoples of Monsone came across the Siberian Land bridge. They eventualy became the native tribes of Monsone.

However, in Monsone currently, most people are of European, Asian, Turkish, Middle Eastern and North African descent. Because of that, most last names in Monsone are of European, Slavic, or Asian origin. And some last names are just the Monsonian words for the foreign names.
