From the chaotic otherworldly power of the Indian rakshasa to the hi-tech urban destructiveness of Japan's Gojira, from the decayed and parasitic vampires of aristocratic Eastern Europe to America's good ol' democratic zombie hoarde, monsters often hold up a dark mirror to their culture, showing the sinister shadow side of whatever that civilization holds most dear. What monster, ghoul or mythical being has that role in your nation?

Melvonians have long shuddered in fear at the spectre of the hedomorph. These vile, once-human creatures believe they have taken the pursuit of physical pleasure to the highest possible level - but their tastes are warped and their souls perverted. Typically depicted with hideously distended bellies, long twisting tongues and dagger-like teeth, the fiends prowl the darkness in a perpetual quest to slake their desire for the delicacy of human flesh....

Far more common, and infinitely nicer, are the Farfarelli. These mischievous, boozy little imps inhabit every home and workplace in Melvonia. They are silly rather than evil. They will empty your fridge, break your office copier, hide your keys and eat your homework. Superstitious Melvonians leave a small snack and a little cup of wine out at night in the hope of placating - or at least distracting - their own resident farfarello. They will still blame it, though, for whatever minor self-pwnage they do while hung over.

Besides traditional folklore, a monster from the FAN is the Sand Dwellers. The Sand Dwellers are a race that lives under the sand, seemingly swimming through the sand. They are supposedly peaceful, but some say the more aggressive ones eat those who wander into their territory. They are said to be sort of a worm with 2 pairs of frog legs and a human head for a head.

Monsters do exist in Rerkeo, although most of them were extinct by this point. Extinct species are giants (the Raields), goblins, the Haunoaaus (humanoid dog-sized cannibals) and the Himolaurjaursis (an arachnoid creature whose attacks ranges from paralyzing toxins to spikes). Modern monsters include the Bigfoot, Chupacabras, and the legions of Serhussu (a canine-like beast of blood red fur and pointy ears).

In rural areas, there is a folktale about the old Baron Cragrock. You see, there is no Barony known as "Cragrock". The hamlet of Cragrock was once a small colony of the last remaining Knessian pagans. The exact details of this form of paganism is lost, but in 892 AD, the Count of Newman led an expedition to raze it to the ground, in cooperation with the Knessian Inquisition.

As the men slaughtered the heathens without mercy, their leader, the Baron, said his curse. He stated that his spirit would haunt the countryside nearby forever.

Now, some of the dumber peasants are still scared, even though not a single report of the ghost's existence, proven or not, has ever been found.

The most famous monster of Excalibus is known only by "the One". It is said to strike randomly, and travel long distances in seconds. It attacks only those who are asleep, then traps them in their worst nightmare. But the scariest thing about it is that it is said to bear the same appearance of it's next victim. It is only possible to escape it is by overcoming your worst nightmare.
It was first spotted in 1842, and last seen in 1965. Why it disappeared is currently unknown by the Excalian Department of the Paranormal.

He is known to be extremely deadly, especially when provoked, and the only way fights involving Him avoid leading to fatalities is if He happens to show mercy (which He never does, so...). It is said that most deaths from this being come from a single, decisive roundhouse kick.

Others fear zombies even though they only appear at Halloween and many are slow moving anyway. A small minority of racists think black people are monsters, but less then 1% of our population now thinks that. Some fear our Giant Spiders although they are not dangerous if unprovoked. But the monsters we fear most are not biological but mechanical-massive robot pirate raiders-the Victorious Decepticons.

It then vanishes, with no chemical or physical trace of its existence. The legend original stemmed from the lower class slums on the DeLongtasian Red Isles, but through technology made its way all around the nation. Over 100 deaths have been attributed to this creature. Living in an Irradiated Toxic Wasteland, we do have monsters, but those if a type that where once a part of humanity. These mutant dreads live in the Outzones, pray on each other, and any human foolish enough to cross their path. The only control we have on them, besides the fact they kill each other, are the terminator cyborgs that have run amuck, and inhabit the Outzones, along with the Bloodthirsty Mutant Cannibals. None of them get along very well with each other, quite the contrary.

She personally don't mind herself being called a monster. With that said, the Valentians, even Gwen herself, does not know what she exactly is. Sylvie would sometimes come off as a sweet girl with an uncanny appearance. Other times, she would go to such lengths to defend the Valentians, including an attempt to sacrifice and condemn offenders into The Void, probably to its inhabitants, if any.

Sylvie is also immune to effects of darkness and horror, though it is to be clarified that she is not exactly a force of evil. She simply has literal dark energies that could be mistaken for evil.

Is she a servant of The Void? Is she Void herself? Why did she come into this world? How many other possible Voids are present in the multiverses? We will not know, and Sylvie is not accepting questions of that nature.
