As an RP region, Ordis has always been a quite small, tight-knit community with an emphasis on world building. There are two major things to keep in mind when applying: First is that multinational lore is a major part of the regional dynamic, and consequently you will be expected to be flexible when integrating existing nation concepts into the region. Secondly, we are first and foremost a closed-world realistic modern-tech RP region, and although we do maintain a spinoff future-tech canon this is not our specialty, and all applicants will be expected to maintain nations in the MT part of the region.
As in most regions, to maintain a certain standard of quality of writing and worldbuilding in the region, membership in Ordis requires submitting an application for review by the two Consuls or an appointed Secretary of Admissions. Don't worry though, you're welcome to hop into our Discord at any time during the process, or even before if you'd just like to chat for a while to get a feel on things before you decide to apply.
Once you've been accepted - congratulations! - there are two further steps you should take. Firstly, contact the regional cartographer Kolintha via Discord about gaining a plot on the map. See the section below for further guidance on this aspect of your application. Secondly, you should pay a visit to the Ordic Encyclopedia and start on a page for your nation. If you get stuck or are unfamiliar with the mediawiki interface, feel free to contact Meriad, the regional Secretary for Technomancy, or ask your fellow Ordisians on the Discord for advice.
We hope you have a positive experience in our community!
As mentioned above, upon being accepted into the region you will need to claim a spot on the map. Generally Ordic cultures, languages and religions are drawn from real-life to some degree, though we do try to steer away from blatant analogy. Our map is organised so that populations naturally occupy locations based on realism and general aesthetic. Broadly speaking, Escar and Amphia are occupied by Asian and European peoples respectively, and are host to the former colonial powers, as well as various other old world civilizations. Osova is home to north african semetic-speakers and sub-saharan africans like the Bantu peoples. Finally, Valeya - the new world - is the home of indigenous americans and old world settler states.
It is recommended that alongside contacting the Cartographer you consult with other members already roleplaying nations in the region you plan to make a claim in. This will help you to get an idea of the major shared canon of the region, and will likely provide the basis for ideas about shared history, culture and other details of your nation.
The Liber Ordica is the region's constitution, and contains a more detailed outline of the regional government. It also contains the regional rules and disciplinary code, so upon applying, you automatically agree to its contents and are assumed to have read it in it's entirety; the basic rules are summarised below.
- I. No attempt to provoke hostility may be allowed.
II. Politics or divisive topics will not be discussed on the RMB or the Discord.
III. Any discussion shall be pursued in a civilised and polite manner.
IV. Discussions should aim to remain on-topic, and members are expected to move off-topic discussion to the appropriate channels.
V. Repeated sharing of content entirely irrelevant to or inappropriate for Ordis, repetitive posting, mass pinging without prior permission and other forms of spam are forbidden and will be removed by officers of the regional government.
VI. The authorised officers of the regional government reserve the right to intervene or suppress any posts which violate these rules.
VII. Citizens shall be expected to maintain activity on the regional discord, on the regional wiki and in roleplays.
If you feel you have been treated inappropriately by another member of the region, have any concerns about harassment or have any other issues with the region please do not hesitate to contact a member of the regional administration. It is also strongly encouraged that you alert a member of the administration of any other general breaches of the rules, such as spamming or baiting, as soon as possible.

How did you find out about Ordis?:[/blocktext][/box]
Here you will find the application to request an NPC state, alt-nation or to request permission to start over with a new nation if you are already a member of Ordis. In addition, we would appreciate it if any post here is announced in the Discord to either me, or Khorn. Applications will be handled by the Consulate at its earliest convenience.
NPC - Non-Player Country. Generally a nation that is worldbuilt and controlled collaboratively by multiple people, not a single player.
Alt - A country predominantly controlled by a single player, in addition to other nations controlled by said player.
Nation change - When a player switches their primary focus to a different nation, the old country either being removed from canon, given to another player or made into an NPC.
1. Consider what level of GDP and Population would be appropriate for the region you are applying in, and the history of your nation; look at nearby states for inspiration.
2. Discuss your planned country you neighbor, have colonial ties with, are culturally close to beforehand; new nations which foster shared canon are much more likely to be approved.
3. Consider how your nation fits into modern and historical geopolitical dynamics - what is its historical role?
4. If your map claim results in a border with another player's main nation, said player will be asked for their consent to this before the claim is approved.
5. Approval of alt applications is contingent on activity; we reserve the right to reject applications if the applicant appears to be overstretched or has a record of persistent inactivity.
6. If multiple players have significant shared input on a nation, please note the other people responsible besides the applicant themselves.
The following form may be used for applications for alts as well as requests to change nations. The more detailed, the more likely we are to approve the application. Requests for an alt which violate the above rules are deemed invalid. When applying for a nation change, please add a motivation on why you want to change nations, as such a decision can upset canon majorly.
