Empire of Manchukuo
The Empire of Manchukuo is a nation located in Manchuria, Between North Korea, Mongolia, Russia and the Peoples Republic of China. Manchukuo is a monarchy, currently lead by Emperor Zhang Chung-shan. The capital of the Manchu Empire is Changchun, and the largest city is Shenyang, at 8.6 million people. Manchukuo was founded as a Japanese puppet in 1932, and was lead by King Puyi, former emperor of China. In 1938, however, Puyi was overthrown by the warlord Zhang Zuolin, who had himself crowned "Emperor of Manchukuo, and lord of all the five races which reside there." Seeing the overthrow of their puppet, the Japanese attacked a Manchu border outpost, near Korea. The Japanese killed 23 Manchu soldiers, 13 of whom were in fact of Japanese descent, and slaughtered 13,000 of the nearby town's residents. Following these killings, Zhang wired 2 major world powers (U.S. and U.K.) the news of this massacre, and declared war. In solidarity, Britain declared war on Japan, and criticized their actions at the League of Nations (predecessor of the WA). Japan denied that any such thing took place, and also withdrew from the LoN. Japan then invaded Manchukuo, and drove Zhang's forces to the Soviet border. Zhang decided to go to Nanjing, undercover, to meet with Chang Kai-Shek, Leader of the Chinese Nationalist Army. On the way however, Zhang was Killed by a Japanese-planted bomb, in the train car he was taking. Zhang's son Zhang Xueliang, was crowned Emperor. Xueliang requested support from Moscow, Washington, Nanjing, and Ruijin, headquarters of the PLA. Xhueliang's forces eventually received enough support from the Soviets, which eventually was enough for the Manchu Army to force the Japanese to the Korean border. Manchukuo then struck at the Japanese colonies of Beijing and Tianjin, freeing them from Japanese rule. Manchukuo then made efforts to arm Koreans in the Korean peninsula to free them of the Japanese occupation, and even provided training to the later president of North Korea, Kim Il Sung. Manchu forces later overthrew the Japanese Puppet government in Mongolia, instating a democratic ruler, oversaw election in 1943, in Ulaan Bataar, and gradually pulled out. The CMIS (Manchukuo Central Military Intelligence Services) revealed a Japanese plot to launch a bombing campaign across Manchukuo, and published the documents and recording taken my Manchu agents in Tokyo, and foiled the plot. After the end of the war in 1945, Manchukuo's main focus was to rebuild the economy, which at the time mostly consisted of petrol exports from the Yellow Sea, to Japan, the US, Brazil, and Australia. The stock exchange in Dalian became one of the biggest in all of Asia, as did the Port of Dalian, which was used by commercial vessels. The Manchu army became very powerful receiving training and support from the USSR, Japan, India, and the US. During the Korean War, Manchukuo remained neutral, having provided both nations with training before the conflict. King Xueliang Abdicated in 1993, In favor of the Regency Council Which Remained in power, because of a fear that the prince (current king) would crack down on left-wing parties, and politics, until a coup in 2004, which brought the current king to power.
The current emperor Zhang Chung-shan I, has taken a harder stance on the left wing than his Father and Grandfather who were both active members of the Constitutional Movement of Manchukuo (CMM), Chan-shun has shown support for the Manchu Patriotic Nationalist Union (MPNU), which is a highly nationalistic party, which seeks the abolition of the Imperial Diet of Manchukuo, and the granting of the emperor supreme Power to declare martial law at will. The CMM is a party for the gradual movement towards a constitutional monarchy, where the king has no political power whatsoever. Chung-shan has forced the CMM to move its headquarters to Qiqihar, in the north, of the nation, which was highly inconvenient. The left wing has been repeatedly called "communist"and is the victim of several smear campaigns, one of which was launched by the state news agency, Manchu Central News (MCN). The emperor has passed laws allowing him to dissolve the Diet, declare Martial law, and shut the border. Chung-shan is half Muslim, his mother having been a Uighur from Urumqi. The Military has received increased spending, including a complete upgrade of all equipment used by the military. The Emperor has also expanded the nuclear and space programs, launching several ICBMs to the Pacific, and sending several satellites into space. He has also authorized the construction of the Liao Dam, and several nuclear Power plants near Qiqihar and Harbin. Oil sales have increased as well. Chang-shun has allowed the Chinese Nationalist Government to operate in Manchu Formosa (Taiwan), and has annexed part of the Shandong Peninsula, to build an Army, Air force, and Naval base on the peninsula in case of a second Sino-Manchu war.
