National Overview: A nation founded by Mormon-like religious refugees from Aurora, it has three main climate zones. The main, large island and the northern tip of the southern continent are similar to Cascadia, the archipelagos to the north have are similar to the Azores/Canaries, and most of the Southern continent are taigas/tundras/ice. It is a synthesis of many Auroran cultures plus its own elements, very similar to OTL. However, it is still in a period of self-isolation.

National Overview: Started out as a Malay kingdom in the 5th century that specialized in spice trade. Successive dynasties grew outwards and increased trading with neighbouring countries and was considered the gateway to the east. Was one of the most important stopover points in the spice and silk trade. It is during this time a lot of Cathays migrated south and settled on Penania's shores. European colonizers reached Penania's shores during the Shahrajan dynasty in 1786, when the country is starting to descent into a civil war. The Europenas supported the Taoke faction, which is a Cathay faction that supported trade with the Europeans, as opposed to the ruling Malai Shahrajan dynasty, which favoured isolation. After 20 years of civil war, the Taokes, with the aid of the Europeans defeated the Shahrajans. The Europeans quickly established a protectorate in Penania under the Taokes, and that lasted well into the 20th century. They were delighted that they have finally controlled in what people describes as "The pearl of the Orient". In 1934, a communist revolution quickly overthrew the colonial government and the monarchy, which are weakened by the wars in Europe, plus being unpopular with Penanians. They are quickly accepted by Raventsvo into the communist faction, and stayed in relative isolation till 1956, when another civil war broke out, this time between the communist government and the liberal front. The war lasted for 2 years, and ended with a communist defeat. Thus the communist government fled to Raventsvo, while the the liberal front successfully hold a free and fair election in 1960. After that the government maintains a mixed economy, with free trade encouraged. Plus the government maintains strict neutrality in all conflicts. This has lead to rapid economic growth, and the country quickly recovers from the civil war. Currently the country is rich and stable, and is open to trade with any nation, irrespective of their backgrounds.

National Overview: The City of Educandi was at one point the hegemonic power over the German Sea, exercising it's power by controlling virtually all entry points into the bay. It's tools of control were client states, forts, trading posts, and it's powerful navy. Throughout all the nineteenth century, with the rise of nationalism, the empire they built slipped away. As nationalism rose, so too did the cities nearby Educandi, and soon the Educan identity was no longer limited to the city. Through a series of reforms, the Educan Realm transitioned from the satellites of a city-state to a functional nation-state.

National Overview:

So the general culture of my nation compares to that of nations as Italy due to that both have a main ethnic group with various cultures in the nation, i.e. Italians and Sardinians, Venetians, Sicilians, along with the various other Romance folk.
My nation is multiethnic, yet the vast majority are Gelovedians (about 83% of the population), plus the various ethnicities within the Confederation of Gelovedia (Bēndhuelha Gelovedio) belong to one family of people, the Teutic people (just as Sardinians, Venetians, Sicilians, Neapolitans and Italians are all Italic people.

Now, Teutic people are descendants of the PIE culture, as a matter of fact they are the most culturally conservative people of that branch, with Gelovedian being the most conservative of all the languages in that language family. That's in with ignoring the other fact that around 18-20% of the population of Gelovedia practices the native religion which has various of the 'pagan' marks from the Proto-Indo-European mythology, the majority of the population is Vayonist, nonetheless.

Gelovedia is neutral in world affairs, it has a small and mostly inactive military (for it's size). It is one of the most democratic nations in which the GDP per capita (nominal) lies at $37,388.3 and the HDI lies at a 0.892. Gelovedia has a problem with political parties as the “Yes to Freedom!” regionalist and separatist party threatens Gelovedia with an independent Snoygland and as the radical, anarcho-communist party grows in more numbers. As of today the main three political parties fighting for election are the “Centrist Party” (Big tent, radical centrists), the “Party of the People’s Land” (Conservative, Gelovedian nationalists) and the “Party of Democratic Socialism” (Democratic socialists, anti-capitalists). Today Gelovedia's economy can simply be described as a social market economy.

History n' stuff:

The prehistory of Gelovedia begins in the called the ‘Heartland of the First People’ (Kērdodēḣom Oinofoz Mōnios), around the year 12000 BC during the Upper Palaeolithic era, with the arrival of nomadic groups of hunter-gatherers in the river basins of the country, characterized by the use of arrowheads made of stone.

Modern day Wentdehia was where the Bronze Age developed. This period began around the year 1700 BC with the start of the importation of bronze from the mountainous regions of Steiniohelbokehul and Vaydehia. Mining was practiced during this period, due to Gelovedia’s sizeable deposits.

Due to the absence of the domination from other powers of time around Gelovedia, the Iron Age is considered from the introduction of stone architecture and monastic orders around the year 1100 BC.


History for the Gelovedians starts in 400 BC when Proto-Teutic peoples known the Teutics (Tewtésko in PT, Teutējei in modern Gelovedian) who invaded the lands known as Gelovedia through mounted warfare. The Proto-Teutic people arrived from the ancestral Gelovedian homeland
Proto-Teutics kept herds of horses, cattle and sheep. It is unknown the exact culture of those who lived in these ancestral lands but many speculate the previous people were Indo-Auroran, as the Gelovedians, but the lack of any accounts on their language and culture other than pottery artifacts depicting humans.

At the beginning of the 2nd century, much of the cultivated land in the river basins and wheat fields in the Teutic lands was divided into lots with small stone walls. On one side of the wall would be the permanent fields and meadows for winter fodder, while on the other would be the forest and the land that was used to graze the cattle.

Teutic peoples started to drift from one another in the 2nd and 3rd centuries due to geographical isolation which created a divide in the ethnic groups of the various Teutic peoples, be it by jagged mountains, rivers, cold temperatures or poor soil. The people of that would become known as the Gelovedians were the ones to maintain the most conservation of the Proto-Teutics which arrived from the ancestral Gelovedian homeland.

The first of the people groups to break off from the Proto-Teutic were the Vaydese who lived in the western, mountainous lands of the Gelovedia.

Snoygland and High Snoygland were annexed by the Elyrian empire in the 5th and 6th claimed parts of Snoygland and High Snoygland due to the deficiency of obstacles in their respective landscapes. This gave the cultures of both nations a distinct Elyrelized culture and affected both of their languages. The slipshod Elyrian sway died out as the Snoygese and High Snoygese lords rebelled.

More division occurred as the 10th century rolled in via the diverging of different Teutic peoples due further isolation resulting in a conception of conflicts which would commence the unification of various clans into well established nationstates. The 10th and 11th centuries were defined as a period of clash between the various ethnic groups, particularly those in the Snoygese and Gelovedian lands.

Back in the 12th century Gelovedia had a lack of food as the population grew, the Wentdehian breadbasket was striked for their sizeable stocks. The entire Wentdehian bloodline was killed or removed from royalty via brives. The population was slaughtered, integrated by a set of crusades done by the Gelovedians and Snoygese till the 19th century. Prior to this Wentdehia had the was essentially the 'intellectual Mecca' amongst the Teutic tribes, the Wentdehians were the ones which adopted the Elyrian alphabet first (in the 2nd century) and they spread it to Gelovedia and Snoygland. Wentdehia cultivated knowledge in literature and science but it was astrayed by the invading Gelovedian and Snoygese forces. It was Wentdehia’s fall which helped Gelovedia advance, so much so, that the capital of Gelovedia was founded on the ruins of Wentdehia's capital. To this day only 818 Wentdehians speak their mother tongue (most are mostly Gelovedians claiming their contact with their Wentdehian lineage).

Unification of all Gelovedian territory came when the marriage of the Gelovedian King, Ġed III (a Vayonist), and the Snoygese Queen, K’eshereli (also a Vayonist), united their kingdoms in efforts to deracinate paganism around their lands and those near. Through their strive they were able to unify the rest of the Teutic lands.

Due to the various ethnic cultures of inside Gelovedia it has been the norm since the formation of the Confederation in 1799 for each State within Gelovedia to relish autonomy equal to that of the Swiss cantons. Before 1799 Gelovedia was an absolutist monarchy with little contact with the outside world due to sundry and diverse clans, cliques and gangs raiding a nation (Gelovedia) already with internal conflict from the various ethnicities. The Confederation created a short period of fixedness due to the general support from the other ethnicities deriving from their goal for autonomy, yet the cliques of political ideologies and of various panjandrums continued to cause headaches for a short while until order was established by the support from the demos for the new democracy.

It wasn't till 1914 when the Great War arrived that internal conflict began to stir, yet neutrality was able to keep things safe till 1929 when an anarcho-communist uprising successfully overthrew the government. This event established the Federation of Gelovedia and it continued to exist for 2 years in peace, after those 2 years a Civil War between the democratic, status-quo Confederates (they were bolstered by the various ethnicities inside Gelovedia) and the Gelovedian nationalists commenced. The war lasted a total of 4 years and left about a million dead with the end result of the democratic side being victorious.

Not much has happened then, other than constant, non-violent quarreling between the various political parties.

National Overview: Zhenia is a nation located in Eastern Taizi (Asia), A federal republic of 28 provinces and 5 metropolitan municipalities, it is the second-most populous nation in Taizi, with its population relatively concentrated on the eastern and southern coastal regions and the central plains. Zhenia is a generally continental nation, extending from the Han He River near its border with Daihan to the northeastern edges of the Indian Ocean and the Haidong Islands in the West Pacific. It is bordered by Daihan to its east, Nashkhavia to its north, Gatistan and Qdaiadin to its northwest, Penania to its south and Anping to its west. The nation's diverse climate, geography and wildlife classifies it as a megadiverse country.

Zhenia emerged as one of the cradles of civilization around 3500 BCE in the Taimir Basin, as the first settlements and nations came to existence along the Taimir River. The primordial Ming Dynasty came to span much of what is now central Zhenia around the period, until being divided into numerous successor kingdoms. While much of Zhenia followed a historical line of division and unification by dynasties of the era, city-states and smaller dynasties came to control parts of eastern and southern Zhenia. In the 18th century, federalism, along with the Three Principles of the People proposed by Carl Han, gained support among thinkers and politicians in southern Zhenia, amid political instability. Such ideological shifts resulted in the unification of southern Zhenia under the Federation of South Zhenia in 1770, while the ideology spread north to the Jin as well. As the Jin collapsed in 1852, the Zhenian Civil War ensued, ending with the Greater Eastern Union's establishment on June 4, 1868.

Shortly after its establishment, Zhenia initiated Shinzhen Movement, calling for both industrialization and a generally offensive approach and eventual elimination of the presence of Auroran colonial empiresin the vicinity of Zhenia. It eventually expanded into a manifest destiny of Zhenians a new trans-national entity spanning the Genarma Ocean and Taizi. Following this trend, Such expansions resulted in numerous military conflicts against existing Auroran powers. During the First Great War, Zhenia launched a series of major offensives against Auroran powers and their colonies in both oceans and the continent from 1916 to 1919, eventually being accepted as the de facto victor of the war, securing much of Taizi and the two oceans under its influence. In the 1930s, Zhenia launched further offensives into remaining Auroran colonies and Oceania, although its defeat in Second Great War resulted in the loss of all of its colonial gains by 1949. The Coup of 1953 brought about a military regime led by World War 2 commander Vladimir Akulov seizing power and hence commencing the Third Republic, which remained for 23 years until the November Revolution in 1976. Since the Third Republic and due to the Taizi Restoration Act from Hijjma, Zhenia saw an era of economic progress, its nominal GDP surpassing that of Hijjma in 1982. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, it has seen an era of continued and unchallenged prosperity as Taizi's sole great power.

A developed country, Zhenia is home to one of the largest economies of the world, ranking very high in personal productivity, ease of doing business, educational level, healthcare and personal safety. National Overview: Due to both its unique nature, positioning, and history, the Lucays are a nation unlike others. Situated at the crossing point between !North America and !Europe, the ports of the Lucays are some of the busiest in the world, with numerous vessels stopping in one of the three principal ports in anticipation for either crossing to !Europe, or further voyages. However, the Lucays also old significant sway in the trade of both sugar and tobacco, with those two commodities making up much of its exports prior to industrialisation. Culturally, the islands are split in between two primary groups; the !English Umbrians and the !French Avignonians, with the Umbrians making up a 2/3rds majority in population. Much of the islands life is centred around these two groups, with the Umbrians being more liberal and left-wing, due to their history off communicating with multiple nations, while the Avignonians and more conservative and right-wing, preferring to focus inwards. History-wise, the archipelago was populated by numerous tribal groups that all lay under the Lucayan language and ethnic group, however with the arrival of !Europeans in TBA, their numbers quickly dwindled from both death and fleeing the encroaching !Europeans, with the Lucays having one of the lowest numbers of !Native Americans still residing on the islands, as opposed to other nations. Colonised by !England and !France, the Umbrian portion of islands were the first to rebel and attain independence in 1782, before both instigating and supporting the Avignonians when they rebelled, entering into its first conflict with a fellow nation in 1817. However, following the unification of the two former colonies, it became clear that there was significant issues separating them, namely the issue of both slavery and taxes. The Umbrians were both absolutionists, and were in favour of more centralised government, while the Avignonians were opposed to both. In 1852, the Lucayan Civil War erupted, with a third of the islands declaring secession. As both sides had significant naval forces, the first two years of the conflict consisted largely of naval action and shore raids, however the Avignonian fleet was eventually defeated, giving the Umbrians dominance and the ability to begin a bloody series of island hopping campaigns, eventually defeating the rebellious islands. As punishment, the Umbrians evicted many of the slave-owning families that owned sizeable estates, opening them up to both veterans of the Lucayan military, but also to new immigrants. This rush of available land began an explosion of immigration to the nation, but authorities soon found themselves overwhelmed due to their underestimations of how many immigrants would come, resulting in a rise of the poor. To counter-act this surge, the central government began a series of development projects designed to alleviate the number of jobless immigrants, though these works often consisted of digging and refilling ditches until something more appropriate could be devised. The opening of the Federal Shipyards in 1912 proved to be the definitive end of the jobless problem, projecting the Lucays into a important role in the eyes of international economists. The 20th century however, was no without its problems, with a rise of Avignonism leading to a series of terrorist and so-called reprisal attacks across the nation, culminating in the National Emergency of 1972, where the island of St. Sarah declared independence, with the Lucayan military quickly retaking the island and placing soldiers on the streets across Avignonian-dominated islands. Legal recognition of the Avignonians in the late 1990s proved to bring an end to the Emergency and allowed for a more effective exploration of the islands, in turn returning the Lucays to an important position on the international scene.

National Overview:Nothing set in stone in terms of history thus far, other than being some sort of trading post/successful colony for the Europeans, which had the effect over time of creating a melting pot both culturally and in terms of demographics. Gained independence in 1940s after being occupied by Zhenia between the world wars or something.

Politically it’s a kleptocracy more or less masquerading as a parliamentary democracy with the ruling party having been in power for decades. Laws are strict, extreme political parties are banned, and death penalty is active for a number of serious crimes. Freedom of the press is restricted. Contrary to say, Nazi Germany however, there is high regard for the rule of law and courts are very independent. In other words, Sumatrapore has strong culture of legalism.

The guiding ideology for the mainstream is a sort of proto-fascism/integralism based on multi-racialism, communitarianism and national unity. Privately, the political elite see the world through a hyper-realist lense and act accordingly...from the shadows. They're the political equivalent of min-maxers and don't care about 'silly normatives’ or ‘morality’: they know that states are in competition with another in the international equivalent of Social Darwinism and they’ll do anything to win.

Economics wise, Sumatrapore had an Asian-style economic miracle in the latter half of the 20th century which built on a healthy supply of natural resources, particularly metals, to forge an export-driven economy enabled by colonial trade infrastructure left behind. Now a significant exporter of goods and more recently services, and importer of natural resources. Fairly well developed as a result with a GDP per capita of perhaps $46,000 nominal.

On a political and economic note, economy is more or less dominated by six or seven large conglomerates with ties to main political party/political elite, including a revolving door system.

Lingua franca is English but also extensive use of Malay, Korean, Chinese and Sanskrit. Lots of bilinguals. Heavily multiracial with historical migration from !India and other South East Asian states.

Because the elite are as aforementioned basically Soviets in disguise they have a hard-on for nuclear energy and nuclear weapons.

National Overview:

The modern Florencian state originates with the native peoples of the central New World. Disparate sedentary empires and nomadic tribes among the mountain peaks, temperate forests, grasslands, and deserts of the present day UFSR would have entered a post-classical stage of development featuring distinctive metallurgy, booming cities, and a limited comprehension of writing language by the 1100's. Technological progress and population expansion would only boom with the introduction of Zhenian horses and paper. Later East Asian contact with the central New World would see the growth of commerce on the continent with the establishment of Zhenian trade cities by the late 1500's. Ultimately the peak of Zhenian interaction with present day Florencia would see the establishment of a colony; the Viceroyalty of Shinjin, which would reach a mature stage of population development and government by the late 1700's, solidifying a sizable East Asian population in the eastern UFSR.

Native interaction with the Auroans would be less fruitful and see the forced establishment of a Thracian colony in the western portion of Florencia, a direct counter to East Asian ambitions in the East. Whereas eastern Florencia would experience a more nuanced synthesis of native and East Asian populations, the west would experience a dominated hierarchy by the Auroans and forced Elyrianization. The less habitable grassland interior of the current Florencian nation would be left to nomadic natives that would steadily be infringed upon by foreign settlers. The discovery of gold in the Thracian colony would prompt a sponsored series of immigration from Slavic peoples to toil the land, send resources back to the empire, and further displace the native population that had been wracked by war and disease. This would be a trend that would continue well into the existence of the current Union state.

During the 1780's the Zhenian viceroyalty would rebel from the mainland and organize itself as an independent republic. The same would be said of the western Thracian colony, where in the early 1800's unrest at home would see a bloodied revolution establish the Velorénsian Empire. Velorénsia itself would be the Elyrian translation for Florencia, which is itself a bastardized synthesis of both the native name for the nation and the Elryian translate. The drawn out revolution that created the Velorénsian Empire might have begun with enlightened republican ideals, but was hijacked by a minor Thracian noble and brilliant tactician who would go the way of a Napoleon and capitalize on unrest, disorder, and exhaustion to crown himself Emperor and Autocrat. The Emperor of Velorénsia would end up marrying the exiled princess of Elyria. Both the first Emperor and later his son would expand and consolidate the realm, gobbling up the independent eastern former Zhenian colony by the 1860's in an event known as the War of Unification.

The Velorénsian Empire by the 1900's had become a cosmopolitan state with a sizable Zhenian minority on the East Coast, a thoroughly Elyrianized West Coast, and a large number of Slavs, natives, and other Auroan migrants everywhere in between. Growing agitation with a despotic emperor would led to the Empire's entry of the first world war on the side of Zhenia, no doubt with the hope of unifying the nation and getting rich off the war. However famine, pestilence, monarchical disconnect with the populace, a type of serfdom share-cropping system, a tanked economy, and imperial performance in the war ending horribly would lead to a relatively quick revolution that would depose the Emperor and see the establishment of the Union of Florencian Social Republics in 1919. The events of 1919 are categorized as the Great Revolutionary War.

This new Florencian state would be influenced by enlightenment republican ideals and early socialist/syndicalist thought, synthesizing into the homegrown ideology of social republicanism, rejecting such ideas as blood and soil and idealizing this new doctrine as the foundation of the nation. The fabric of the UFSR would be woven by a multi-ethnic fabric of citizenry from a diverse religious, ethnic, and racial background all united behind the ideas of life, liberty, and property.

The Florencian Union considers itself a social federal republic. In that sense the liberal republic controls the commanding heights of the socialist market economy. It is the patriotic duty of the population to partake in democracy and specifically the workers, farmers, and petite bourgeoisie to manage the economy. State run heavy industrial enterprises, decentralized and democratic-self management, affirmative action, welfare, and entrepreneurship exemplify the socialist market economy. Government management and regulation of the economy alongside the expansive welfare state provides for the commonwealth of the Union, uplifting the worker, farmer, and all other laborer to an equitable proper standard of living.

National Overview: The Tolorian Empire is a former authoritarian state, starting to find its way on to the democratic scene. It is primarily comprised of the Bantu people, with minorities such as the Hutu and Zulu peoples being the next two largest group of peoples.

The country has a history of being a lucrative trading partner, historically specializing in the spice and mineral trades. With the beginning of colonialization, the Tolorian peoples saw their expansive territory start to be encroached upon. Soon, it found itself being a tributary state to one of the colonial powers. In time, however, and with a bit of good fortune, it was able to regain its independence.

The country of Toloria has always had a history of being ruled by a singular figure, always male. Traditionally, the leader held the title of king. However, since the inception of democracy in the country, the title has changed to President. Even though Toloria is now a presidential system, most elections have come out in favor of the ruling party and leader, leading many to believe that the elections are rigged against any competition. The economy is a developing mixed economy, with a heavy reliance on trade to sustain growth.
