The Fitna (variably translated as "sedition", "trial", "strife", "distress" etc.), occurring between 1918-1927 CE, is generally considered as the most disastrous conflict in modern Darussalami history.

Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal
What was the cause of the conflict?: Industrial revolution and emergence of large urban working class, revolutionary waves leading to ideological delegitimization of Darussalami legal order and the latter's collapse, internal conflict among great merchant houses, rise of nationalism
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved?: The restorationist, neo-Bazaarist Consistory, the conservative loyalists of Free Congregation (dissolved earlier in war, later mostly absorbed into the Consistory), revolutionary forces comprised of ethnic-nationalist republics, Originalist dissenters, and syndicalists (spearheaded by the Workers' Congress), later congregated into informal "White Coalition"
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Victory of the reactionary, restorationist Consistory, establishment of monopoly of force under the Custodianship (later Secular Authority and its branches), transition into authoritarian oligarchy, repression against nationalists and syndicalists, dominance of New Bazaarism in administration and policy-making
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: An estimated 40 million perished (including those who died from wartime disease) and 40 million more displaced into other polities, totaling approximately a fifth of prewar Darussalami population

Was the conflict internal or external?: External.
What was the cause of the conflict?: A mass defection from my nation, bolstering the armies of an unknown enemy which then made itself known and declared war. They called themselves "N.A.L.A.", short for North American Liberation Army, and were made mostly of ancestors of the victims of Le Grand Dérangement, the forced emigration of the male population of Acadia to other locations. They felt that they deserve the land that was stolen from them, and when not heard, decided to take more aggressive action, resulting in the the Halifax riots of 1983, where 128 people died within 2 weeks. When that didn't work, they managed to convince some of the incredible amount of French Tenganian troops to defect.
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?:
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Victory was won by the Dreifache (my side, German for Triple Alliance) when messages were intecepted revealing the location of Major François Armstice, the leader who had declared war on us in the first place, and anti-infantry and structure precision-striking intercontinental missiles were sent and demolished the facility.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Approximately 541,000 military deaths and 80,000 civilian deaths (Most of which were Greater Cesnicans) in total for all participators.

Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal
What was the cause of the conflict?: Popular resentment towards the insular, unresponsive elite spilled over into open civil war after the Eastern Colonial Crisis led to economic collapse
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: There were many factions involved in the civil war; ultimately they can be grouped into "Loyalists" (supporters of the old regime) and "Dissenters" (opponents of the old regime)
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Total victory for the Dissenters and declaration of the short-lived First Republic. The various factions soon turned on each other, with purges being carried out across the nation by various different groups. The eventual outcome was a military coup and the re-establishment of the monarchy under a new royal house
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Around a million, mainly from famine & disease as a result of the war

Was the conflict internal or external?: External
What was the cause of the conflict?: Starting in 2929, several states within the Confederation of Sol began to resist the centralization efforts that the Earth government was making. Notable colonies from HIP 23311 and HIP 99344 had begun forming an anti-Earth coalition in the Confederacy's parliament until January 3, 2931, when the United Planetary Treaty was signed, forming the Federation of Sol, making Earth the official capital and the federal government of the region. The Anti-Earth coalition had decided to break away to form their own confederation separate from Earth's control, thus starting a major war. Although Salurk was a distant planet far off in the Pleiades and not a member of the Confederation of Sol, a complex web of alliances from various Confederate member states dragged in almost the entire galactic community into the war.
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?:
Federation of Sol (12 member planets and 8 allied planets)
New Sol Confederation (16 member planets and 4 allied planets, Salurk being one of them)
Salurk fought on the side of the New Sol Confederation, mainly due to honoring the call to war of their allies from the confederation.
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: The conflict officially ended on October 16, 2938, with the Treaty of Mars. Tired from war and a change in leadership on Earth, the two sides met to form a mutual treaty in ending the war. The Federation of Sol would dissolve and re-accept the Confederation of Sol. Dissenter planets could honor the new treaty and could be restored as full members of the Confederation, and if they didn't honor it, they didn't have to be part of, or under the influence, of the Confederation any more. Most citizens of Salurk who had family members die in the war and those soldiers who returned home shell-shocked were gravely irritated in the government for fighting in a war that had little to no bearing on the planet of Salurk, and barely anything changed as a result of the war. A space battle, known as the Battle of Cordoba, which had completely wiped out an entire Salurki fleet earlier in the war has been noted as one of the worst tragedies to happen to Salurk. Years on after the war, the phrase "Never another Cordoba!" had become popularized, eventually forcing government officials to develop a neutral foreign policy stance, so that Salurk couldn't get involved in a war like that again.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Salurki casualties range from 3,872,980 to at most 3,900,000, although the true number may remain unknown due to losses in deep space.

Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal
What was the cause of the conflict?:
An extremely authoritarian and destructive reign of Sultan Radin Jayawarsa who was known to be a notorious playboy. Elements of the Royal Guard and pro-Democracy mobs revolted against him in 1954 after the sacking of a prominent commander of the Royal Guard.
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?:
Front for a Democratic Prawati
- ‘Republican Guard’ (A 1,000-man strong regiment of Royal Guardsmen who revolted against the government after the sacking of Colonel Suripto, their commander.)
- Free Prawati Movement (An underground rebel/guerilla organization set up several years prior after crackdowns on pro-democracy activists.)
- pro-Democracy rioters (3-5,000 rioters who clashed with Monarchist forces in protest for democracy and the overthrow of Sultan Radin Jayawarsa.)

Monarchists
- Royal Guard (14,000 or so soldiers on the onset of the 4-day war who served as the ruthless private army of the Sultan. By the second day of the war, it is estimated half of the Royal Guardsmen had defected to the Democratic forces.)
- Monarchists (Several thousand civilians supporting the reign of Sultan Jayawarsa.)
- Foreign mercenaries (A company of foreign mercenaries working as the Sultan’s palace guards.)

What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: After the end of the 4-Day War, the Royal Guards along with mobs seized the Royal Palace and executed him by running him over with a municipal bus and proceeding to burn his body and execute the royal family. Mobs massacred and lynched hundreds of monarchist supporters after the surrender of the Monarchists.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Roughly 4,000 deaths, although numbers go up to 7,500 if missing people are counted.

Gotsborg's most devastating conflict was the French Naval Assault on Gotsborg during the Napoleonic Wars in September 1813

Was the conflict internal or external?: External
What was the cause of the conflict?: The Napoleonic Wars
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: Napoleonic France
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: The outcome was a retreat of the Napoleonic fleet, and a devastated fleet of Gotsborg. A few months later, the tide of the war would be turned around and further attacks on the weaker fleet were not undertaken, but the shellshocked island nation had seen the horrors of war that it previously never had, and it changed its attitude towards war forever, this war being the last they would ever be an official participant in.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: >25,000 (Around 40% of which were from the Gotsborg Navy, over 2% of Gotsborg's entire population at the time in one battle)

What was the cause of the conflict?: Our liberation from Ukraine
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: We were fighting for liberation from Ukraine
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Well.. we exist. Ukraine doesn't recognize us though
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Unknown. It is estimated 4-5 hundred thousand between both sides

During Ukraine's independence from the USSR in the early 90's, the westernmost states of Ukraine decided to declare independence from Ukraine. While demanding their own right to self determination from Russia, they were systematically oppressing our right to self determination from them.
The war lasted over a decade, and a peace agreement was signed, and Yautikov was officially born on January 1st 2006.

The 2nd Heloian Bush War was fought from 1989 to 1995.

Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal.
What was the cause of the conflict?: Heloin was a deeply divided state in 1989. Heloin was run by a white minority government. A system of bantustans and apartheid laws divided Heloians along racial lines. The peace deal that had ended the first Heloian Bush War in 1986 had yet to be fully implemented and universal suffrage for non-white Heloians was still nonexistent. This along with the pressure of the neighbouring Mozambican Civil War and the signs of Apartheids end in South Africa lead to the war.
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: The conflict was split between pro-government forces loyal to the Salisbury government, and the pro-nationalist made up mostly of the Mashona majority. Pro-government forces include: the Heloin Armed Forces, the Afrikaner Defence Commando, and the Bantu Native Regiment. Pro-nationalist forces were supposedly lead by the Heloian African National Congress, but a failure to press atvantages in 89 lead to a spilt between the southern HANC in Umtali and the northern HANC in Gwelo. The HANC-Gwelo was also know as the Zambezian Freedom Front and HANC-Umtali were know as the Mashonaland National Patriotic Front.
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Despite early movement by both sides by the middle of 1990 the war had stagnated. Aside from particularly violent hot spots like the Manica Front or the siege of Binga, most of the war for the Heloian Government consisted of patrols within controlled territory and fire force raids into HANC territory. On the 5th of November, 1995 Heloian and HANC leaders in Cape Town signed the Cape Town Accord. The War was over, the Bantustans were gone, universal suffrage was implemented, White Heloians felt cheated by the peace, and just two years later Heloin would slip into the 3rd Heloian Bush War.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: The Casuaties range around 250,000 with a total dead roughly 87,411. The HANC Forces would lose 54,600 troopies while Government forces numbered 4032 troopies. 27,300 Black civilians and 1479 White civilians would die in the fighting. Nearly 600,000 Heloians 30% of the population at the time would be displaced due to the fighting.

The Gandoor Civil War, which lasted from 1953 until 1957, is the most devastating conflict that our nation has been involved in.

Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal

What was the cause of the conflict?: In early 1953, Southside, Hegmon, and Freena Yon, along with parts of Yanot and Yontan Yon unilaterally declared their independence from the Democratic Republic of Gandoor, stating that the 1940 to 1951 Prime Ministership of Alexei Petrikov (who infamously ruled Gandoor as a dictator) proved that the Gandoorese constitution was too weak and ineffective to prevent dictators from coming to power and declared themselves to be the Gandoorese People's Republic.

Orders from the government in Gandoor City that this secession was illegal and that all territories in the self-declared People's Republic were ordered to submit to Gandoorese authority and members of the newly established People's Army of Gandoor were ordered to put down their arms and surrender to members of the National Army of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor, who had been sent into the secessionist territories to regain control. This would soon break into fighting between the two Gandoors, as the government of the Gandoorese People's Republic believed they had a constitutional right to secede from the Democratic Republic of Gandoor. (Admittedly, this is true, despite being a unitary state, our constitution does provide for the right to secede from the nation, but such an act requires 75% of the residents within that yon to vote in favour of secession and it must also pass both the yon's House and the Forum with a 75% vote in favour in both, unilateral secession is not allowed)

If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: The conflict was centred around two factions, the Democratic Republic of Gandoor (and its military, the National Military of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor), which was established in 1904 as the legal successor to the Nzardom of Gandoor and had international recognition and the self-declared Gandoorese People's Republic (and its military the People's Military of Gandoor), which declared its independence in 1953, several months before the outbreak of the civil war, and was not recognized by any nation.

What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: A ceasefire was declared on 1 June 1956, after the victory of the Democratic Republic in the battle of Peninsular. At the time of the ceasefire, the territory controlled by the Gandoorese People's Republic amounted to no more than 22% of what it had been in 1953.

On 1 July 1957, after more than a year of negotiations, the Gandoor Civil War officially came to an end and the government of the Gandoorese People's Republic (referred to in the treaty as 'the governing structure of the yons and other territories in rebellion') was dissolved and all territory that had been in a state of rebellion was restored as part of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor.

A few months after the war, as a direct result of the conflict, in November 1957, several markets would crash in Gandoor, signalling the start of the post-war economic crisis, which would last until 1972, although Gandoor wouldn't reach pre-civil war economic levels until 1985.

How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: There is an estimated 35,000 total casualties for both sides combined, including civilian injuries and deaths. 7300 members of the National Military were killed and 11,300 wounded.

6800 members of the People's Military were killed and 11,150 wounded.

There were 500 civilians killed and 1550 wounded during the war.

Alpenzell's most devastating conflict is an historic embarassment. Alcohol and poor communication played a role.

Was the conflict internal or external?:
Internal... But initially mistaken for external.

What was the cause of the conflict?:
Prior to the mid 1800s, military units wore colours specific to the canton they were based in. For example, Glimmerbach wore yellow and black, Edelsbad wore white and grey, Rotterwald wore red, and so forth.

Upon the incorporation of Hochenberg in 1797, local uniforms were fashioned in blue and grey. Unfortunately, these colours were very similar to the blue uniforms worn by foreign armies.

The Hochenberg battalion was set to march to the captial to receive a royal charter and attend its swearing in ceremony. This would take place just two days after the commencement of Oktoberfest celebrations, 1797.

As the battalion approached the capital, and its soldiers and officers enjoyed festivities along the way, a Rotterwald militia spotted the advancing troops. Being drunk themselves, the militia mistook the Hochenberg battalion's blue and grey uniforms for foreign.

Needless to say, a drunken battle ensued.

If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?:
The Rotterwald Militia and Battalion.
The Hochenberg Battalion.

What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?:
There was no victor, so to speak.

How many casualties resulted from the conflict?:
Approximately 25,000, including civilians.

The Great War
Was the conflict internal or external?: Externam
What was the cause of the conflict?: Various events led to the Great War of 2077. Lack of Resources, Greed, International revanchism and ideological fanaticism. And possibly some asshole who wanted to populate the moon (though the last one was never officially confirmed)
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: It was external. The United States of America (which, at that point, controlled the area we currently control) was one of the many belligerents of the war.
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: More than 50,000 different nuclear weapons were launched all over the earth by various factions, leading to the destruction of every single state that at the point existed. There was no official victor, and no true victor either, since most of the earth was reduced to a nigh uninhabitable wasteland.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: The total number might be anywhere from 9 to 10 billion people dead, and a nuclear fallout fell across the planet.

The war of 2130
Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal, in a manner of speaking.
What was the cause of the conflict?: The Institute's murder of the representatives of the ten sections of the Commonwealth, which led to each section blaming the others.
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: There were no official factions, as each of the settlements fought on their own side against the others.
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: There were no official victors, but one can assume that the settlers that put an end to the war by founding Diamond City in Fenway Park were the true victors of this war.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: The war of 2130 killed more than half of the Commonwealth's settler population, though more than 40,000 of that number was due to the lack of security as each settlement had been forced to send its weaponry out, leaving them open to raiding by the unsavory Raiders living in the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth of New England
Mere months after the War for the Commonwealth, a barely sane General Hart tries to keep the delicate balance in the Commonwealth standing
Now Playing: Don't fence me in
Radio Freedom: Brotherhood of Apocalypse form "Eastern Seaboard Headquarters" in the Castle after weeks of negotiations. Minutemen-aligned settlements are encouraged to open discourse with the newly-established organization. | Atom Cat Garage accepts to allow Quincy survivors to settle in claimed area in exchange for preferential treatment in trade. | Brotherhood squad apprehended by Minutemen garrison near Sanctuary after brief stand off. General Hart rebukes High Elder Maxson's demand of their release.

The Schism, followed by the Trouble Across the Four Corners
Was the conflict internal or external?: Internal
What was the cause of the conflict?: Religious and political infighting
If it was an internal conflict, who were the factions involved? If external, what nations/groups were you fighting?: Four pretender Emperors claiming to be the divinely ordained vicar: Adalbert (the rightful Emperor under the succession laws), Adaldunk, Grimbert, and Grimdunk.
What was the outcome of the conflict, and was there a definitive victor?: Inconclusive. Breakup of the Holy Empire into four independent states claiming to be its continuation. The line of Adalbert would rule Wochaystein, arguably the most direct descendant of united Holy Empire by succession and control of Zuidren, the old capital. Many distant provinces break away.
How many casualties resulted from the conflict?: Estimates to vary between 100,000-500,000
