by Ontarra
Full Name of Nation: The Federal Republic of Ontarra
Official Name of Currency: Ontarran Dollar / Federation Dollar
Currency Symbol/Abbreviation: ON$ / F$ / O$ / OND / $
Year of Adoption: 1753
Did It Replace An Older Currency? If So, What Currency Did It Replace?: Ontarra Colonial Currence (itself replacing the Angarran Currence)
Subunits of Currency: Cents
Current Denominations of Currency (Coins): F$0.05, F$0.10, F$0.25, F$0.50, F$1.00, F$2.00, F$5.00
Current Denominations of Currency (Banknotes): F$5.00, F$10.00, F$25.00, F$50.00, F$100.00, F$1000.00
Former Denominations of Currency (Coins): F$0.01
Former Denominations of Currency (Banknotes): F$500.00
Images of Currency: Presently N/A
Current Exchange Rate with USD/NSD: F$1.00 = 1.22 USD as of A.D.2000.
Other Information:
The symbol or abbreviation can be written before, or after the value. The F$2.00, and F$5.00 coins are bimetallic, however the F$5.00 is semi-depreciated and rarely seen due to the prevalence of F$5.00 banknotes; it is also a very unusual coin (for Ontarra) in that it is holed. Despite cessation of minting it remains in circulation, unlike the F$0.01 (cent piece) which was withdrawn in the late 80's.

As of 1990 almost all banknotes in circulation are polymer, the changeover beginning in 1989. Each banknote features portraits of various historical figures on the obverse, and scenic vistas or cultural and scientific achievements on the reverse. These are different for each denomination.

Adoption of the Ontarran Dollar (called the Dominion Dollar at the time) began in 1753 to replace the Ontarra Colonial Currence, itself based off of the Angarran Currence. The Currence was a constant reminder of colonial subjugation of Ontarra by Angarra, and considered outdated and an affront to the burgeoning nation's aspirations. The Dollar has been in use ever since - undergoing a few name changes along the way, but remaining very much the same.

Hey quick little protip for you, and potentially anyone else who does this shit: you're not supposed to quote my OP and fill in the form in the quote, you're supposed to goddamn just copy and paste the form itself into a new post. That's why it's in a code tag because otherwise it just looks like goddamn dogshit when you do this and ruins the flow of the thread being otherwise nice and formatted posts.

by The Eternal Kawaii
Full Name of Nation: The Diaspora Church of the Eternal Kawaii

Official Name of Currency: Unico

Currency Symbol/Abbreviation: U

Year of Adoption: Diaspora Era 1
A few years back, following the destruction of the Kawaiian homeland and the beginning of the Kawaiian Diaspora.

Did It Replace An Older Currency? If So, What Currency Did It Replace?: The "old unico"
Issued by our previous government, the Otaku Church of the Eternal Kawaii.

Subunits of Currency: 1/2 unico, 1/4 unico, 1/8 unico, 1/16 unico, 1/32 unico, 1/64 unico, etc.
In theory, the unico is infinitely divisible, but the smallest subunit in practical use is the 1/64. Smaller units are used "on paper" for government accounting purposes.

Current Denominations of Currency (Coins): Subunit tokens
The unico and its subunits are issued as durable plastic tokens, circular in shape, about the size of a US quarter.

Current Denominations of Currency (Banknotes): Multiple unit "notes"
Kawaiians do not use paper currency. 5 unico, 10 unico, 50 unico, 100 unico, 500 unico, 1,000 unico, 5,000 unico, and 10,000 unico "notes" are issued as rectangular plastic tokens about the size and shape of a typical credit card.

Former Denominations of Currency (Coins & Banknotes): The "old unico" had the same format.

Current Exchange Rate with USD/NSD: TBD pending a working currency calulator.

Other Information: "Church" vs. "Tribal" Unicos
With the collapse of the Otaku government, political power among the Kawaiian people devolved to the tribal level, with a small central government run by an Assembly of Elders representing the 60 Kawaiian tribes. Each tribe issues its own "tribal" unico for intra-tribe commerce. The central church authority issues a "church" unico for inter-tribal commerce as well as central revenue purposes. The exchange rates between the "church" unico and the various "tribal" unicos is set by the central government. It manipulates the exchange rates as a form of welfare for the more impoverished tribes, giving favorable rates to poorer tribes. This results in the transfer of wealth to them from their richer kinsmen.
