Other Information: The Thiep is a representative currency, meaning that it's a medium of exchange that represents something of value, but has little or no value of its own (intrinsic value). The Thiep could be converted to a certain amount of any specified item on demand, and were much easier to carry and to make large payments compared to bartering. Everything from food, clothing, and luxuries were paid using Thieps; however, taxation and tithes were the only other things that couldn't be paid using Thieps. The cent coins (0.01, 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50) look somewhat like American coins. They have a silver color (except for the penny, which is copper-colored), the Statue of Liberty on the tails side, and a scene of a notable war in which America has fought on the heads side (American Revolution on the penny, Civil War on the nickel, WWI on the dime, WWII on the quarter, and the Cold War on the half-dollar). On the bottom of the heads side and the top of the tails side, the coin type ("PENNY, NICKEL, DIME, QUARTER, HALF-DOLLAR") is written. Though laws have been passed around the world outlawing the use of the move, and the money printed by it is legally considered to be counterfeit, the money created by this is completely indistinguishable from lawfully printed money.
