Deserts in your nation
(Info: A desert is an any barren area, where precipitation is low, and conditions for animal, and plant life are pretty hostile. Although sand deserts are one of the most well known deserts, they aren't the only type of deserts - for example, Arctic ice flats are considered as ice deserts as well, because of the low precipitation there as well, and lack of vegetation in those areas, which are ice free. That said, ice deserts differ from equatorial deserts by evapotranspiration, and low temperatures.)

Does your nation have any deserts? If so, then how much percentage of the land area they occupy? (If your country has no deserts, skip the survey)
63%
What type of deserts does your nation has? (Tick the answers with ''x'')
[X]Polar (Or Ice) deserts
[]Semi-deserts

[]Extraterrestrial deserts
[]Other desert type (Specify below)
Which desert is the largest in your country? How large it is in total, and what are some interesting facts about it?
The Great Namabian Ice Desert covers 30% of the total land area of the nation. It is located in Avarnya, and is home to approximately 50 people. The desert is, in fact, one of the warmest places in Namabi, at least, in summer. It’s one of the coldest in winter.
Do any humans live in the desert? If so, how much? What cultural, and physical features they have? Are they natives, or colonist descendants?
As stated above, there are humans living in the desert. Their culture is not particularly vibrant and rich like the rest of Namabi. The reason it was settled was because of the deceivingly warm weather in summer.
How good (or bad) is the quality of infrastructure in the desert?
The infrastructure is above standard in order to survive winters. Even with this, however, buildings have a tendency to fall apart during blizzards and windstorms.
Primary means of transportation in desert?
[X]Train

There are no sentient non-humans.
Are there any cities/towns in the desert? If so, how large they are in terms of population? Which from them is the regional capital?
There are towns, though they are very small, only housing about 10 people at a time. There is no recognised ‘capital’ among them.
What animals, and plants can be found in the desert?
Bears, foxes and wolves are common in the area, as are (to an extent) snow owls. Common plants include thistles and lichens.
What is the average temperature of the desert at winter, and at summer? What are the largest/lowest recorded temperatures there?
Average summer temperature is 20°C, though winters average at -50°C. The highest recorded temperature is 27°C, while the lowest is -82°C.
What are the highest, and lowest points in the desert?
The peak of Mt. Zurgat is the highest elevation, and Vyesh Ravine is the lowest.
Are there any oasis in the desert?
No.
What natural resources can be found in the desert? (Tick the answers with ''x'')
[]Oil
[]Natural gas
[X]Minerals (Diamonds, gold, copper, sodium nitrate, etc.)
[]Uranium
[]Borax
[X]Gemstones
[]Other resources (Specify below)
Does your nation share the desert with a neighbor nation? Are there any conflicts over its resources?
N/A. Namabi has the desert to itself.
How often does it rain in the desert?
About 8 times a year, throughout summer and spring.
(Optional) Short history about the desert:
Settlers arrived in summer, and, seeing the warm weather, decided to live there. However, when winter came, most died, and those who lived were trapped due to the rockfall in the surrounding mountains. Getting out was extremely rare, and those who did were praised and respected for their resourcefulness and cleverness, as well as luck.
Is there anything else you want to mention?:
Most living in the desert died there and never saw the outside world again. This only stopped when planes were introduced to the area and a group of friends flew over the desert in their helicopter. They called for help with getting the settlers out.

This occurred in 1932.

XIX. Questions of Warfare.

Does the country have an armed force? What types? What size?:
Overwatch, ground forces. Then Skywatch which is air to ground support and Skynet which is air defense. And a navy.
How do the armed forces compare with others in the region or world?:
No other country even compares, they have to rely on coalition forces.
Who declares war?: The Primjederik-Minst Jozef Kaiser
Who has the power to declare conditions of peace?:
Ditto+Big MT
How are treaties negotiated?: With threats
What happens to prisoners taken in battle?: We'll send them back to mainland where they'll reside until the war is done.
What weapons are favoured by the various armed forces?: Skynet uses Non-Stealth Defenders the most, easiest to use. Skywatch uses the Strikers most, Overwatch uses all combat units equally, the Navy uses its aircraft carriers more.
What form of warfare does this society use?:
Suppress and Advance. Similar to the Germans of WW1, where they took land and fortified. That's essentially what the Tsarusian military does. A soldier will shoot the enemy, get their heads down, sprint to cover, and fortify and keep shooting, allowing his mates to move forward. Similarly, Overwatch is very efficient in setting up bases set with defensive weaponry.
How do battles in the airs or waters or underworlds differ from surface warfare?: It almost always revolves around air units. Strikers, ASGSs, and cruise missiles are the most valuable weapons we have in naval warfare.
In the air, it is the same as IRL.
Who are the Elite warriors? What distinguishes them?: The ESU, the Super Soldier. Highly trained, highly experienced, wearing armor that only anti tank weapons can take down. Sometimes they are raised in bootcamps, where they're scary good soldiers.
The TSSO is the special forces of Overwatch. Taken from the best of the ESU group, trained to be fast and simultaneously quiet, they're kind of like ninjas.
Then the UPAT, the best of the TSSO. Usually less than 100 of these (out of the 10 million soldiers already in the military). These are the best soldiers in the world. They do not fck around!
How does someone get command of troops?: They earn it. They demonstrate leader-like qualities and are very experienced.
Where do the loyalties of military units lie?: To Strazhnism, to the Ederik, to Tsarus!
Are there professional soldiers? Do they make up the bulk of the military?: A good amount, yes. Anyone above SIU level (AOU, ESU, CT, TSSO or UPAT) is a professional soldier. Normal SIUs spend no more than 5 years in the military. Anyone above that seems to take the military seriously, therefore they are taken seriously by the military.
What is campaign or camp life like?: It all depends. They are never kept comfortable until they have been in a fire fight, where the professional groups are sent to a rehab "safetown" for a little while and return. Usually, they sleep in a large, insulated "tent". In the safetowns, they may live in small furnished houses.
What ethical or moral codes do warriors adhere to?: The ethics of Strazhnism. They don't particularly shy away from violence no matter who it is, but their goal is to keep the native populace safe and comfortable. How this is done depends on the behavior of the populace.
How are battle injuries treated?: Combat Medics or extraction.
How long do wars typically last?: No more than 10 years.
Has this society ever attacked another? What was the nature of that war? What would make this society go to war?:
Yes. Participated in the Eastern Front during WW2 against the soviets, Vietnam, a conflict in the North Caucus, the Second Civil War of the US, and against the Chinese.
What would make Tsarus go to war? The slightest mistake in speech.
Has there ever been a civil war or a revolution?: Yes, the 1920's Strazhnist Revolution which lasted 8 years.
What do soldiers do when there's no war?: There is always a war around somewhere.
Are there any current tensions / wars / embargoes etc with any other nations?: War with China and the ongoing US Civil War.
Who are the country’s enemies? Whos winning the war?:
China, and of course Tsarus.
What defences are available to cities?: Every citizen has guns of all kinds, including anti-tank weapons. No invading force is going to stay. Not to mention geographic protection such as mountains and rivers.
There are SAM turrets damn near everywhere as well.

Political Spectrum Survey
Note: for the sake of consistency, the spectrum is based on hierarchy and equality. The more equality, the further left-wing. Far-left would be no hierarchy (anarchism, communism). The more hierarchy, the more right-wing. Far right-wing would be no equality (fascism, feudalism).
Place an "X" on the spectrum where your nation lies.
Socially:
FAR-LEFT|-----------------------|CENTER|---X--------------------|FAR-RIGHT
Economically:
FAR-LEFT|------------------------|CENTER|--------------------X---|FAR-RIGHT
Politically:
FAR-LEFT|------------------------|CENTER|-----------------------X|FAR-RIGHT
Overall:
FAR-LEFT|------------------------|CENTER|---------------X--------|FAR-RIGHT

Playing cards in Great Nortend are a mix between the French, German and Italian suits. They uniformly have 13 cards per suit — Ace, Deuce, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Page, Cavalier, King — in four suits — Pikes, Martens, Diamonds, Hearts. The Cavalier is usually depicted in armour, holding the suit symbol upwards, hence its alternative name, the Overman. The Page holds the suit symbol downwards, and is also known as the Underman. There is no Joker. Many packs also include a Queen and a Maiden, which are used to play certain traditional games.

Playing cards are taxed significantly, depending on their value.
