How can you become a citizen of YN? (tick all that apply)
[ ] Jus soli
[X] Jus sanguinis
[X] Naturalisation
[X] Other (describe): Naturalisation is normally at least a 3 year process. However, the nation gives out a certain number of skilled labor visas, those who work under such visas for 18 months may apply to be citizens. Additionally, those with immediate family who are citizens of Appalachia may apply for an accelerated process.
How many people are citizens of YN? Approximately 12.4 Million
Can you renounce citizenship? Yes, but only if it would not leave them stateless.
If so, how? Appear at any embassy of Appalachia with the proper form and documentation that they have the citizenship of another nation, be willing to sign a legal affidavit permanently waving citizenship rights.
Does YN recognise dual citizenship? Yes. However, no dual citizen of Appalachia may serve in the military of a foreign nation, meaning that they may not be a dual citizen of a nation with compulsory service unless they've already served their time.
How many citizens of YN hold dual citizenship? Approximately 900,000
How many countries can citizens of YN travel to without a visa prior to arrival? None
What colour are passports of YN? Slate Gray with gold letters.
Do YN's citizens carry a national ID card? Citizens are issued ID cards by their province. Every citizen has a federal ID number, but it is not given to them in the form of an ID card.

National Animal
What's your nation's national animal? Black Bear, Ursus americanus
Is it a mammal, a reptile, a bird, or what? Mammal
Is it in the real world? Yes
Is it allowed to be hunted? Yes, the season November-January
It it near, at, or surpassing human intelligence? Black bears are smarter than your average bear. They are the most responsive to training, and recent studies have indicated that they may hold cognitive intelligence similar to that of primates.
What does it's flesh taste like? Somewhat like pork. It is generally served as legs or loins, other cuts are usually ground into mincemeat and used for a variety of purposes.
How endangered is it? There is over 100,000 black bears in the forests of Appalachia, many of their habitats are protected. They are a "Least Concern" species.
Is it magical? No
How was it created? By magic, technology, evolution, or by a god/goddess? They split from a common ancestor with the other North American bear species (grizzly and polar) about 5 million years ago.
Is it allowed to be used as a pet? No, though they may be found occasionally in circuses.
Where does it live? In forested regions throughout the country. Though they have been known to wander into human communities in search of food.
If one were to kill someone, what would people do to it? Compared to other bear species, black bears are less likely to attack humans. If they encounter a human, they are more likely to either run or display aggressive behavior to scare the human off, whereas other bear species will attack more ferociously and with less warning. Since 1980, only 3 fatal attacks have been recorded within our borders. Any animal attack against a human will be investigated by police and animal control, or forest rangers if it occurred in a federal park. Of particular concern is if there is any evidence that the bear has rabies, in which case the animal will be tracked and put down if possible. Generally, an attempt will not otherwise be made to track down a an individual bear, as it is a difficult and risky task.

National Animal
What's your nation's national animal? The Sapient CPU
Is it a mammal, a reptile, a bird, or what? Typically outfitted with a small body, often of bird shape, but other small animals are copied for these, as well.
Is it in the real world? That'd be cool, but no.
Is it allowed to be hunted? Yes, but if you try, its keeper will come after you with both blasters blazing!
It it near, at, or surpassing human intelligence? Depends on the human! Ha ha! (no, more like a parrot.)
What does it's flesh taste like? It doesn't have flesh. It's a robot. We would not suggest trying to taste it.
How endangered is it? Not at all
Is it magical? No
How was it created? By magic, technology, evolution, or by a god/goddess? We're not sure how CPUs become sapient on their own, but once they do, their owners typically fashion a body for them by technological means. Most spontaneous sapience arises after a chip has been on constantly for a very prolonged period of time without being explicitly programmed. This makes it so that chipmakers, mechanics, and others who do longevity testing on CPUs end up with the most sapient CPU mascots in their shops, though some people leave chips on like that with the specific hope of getting a sapient CPU pet out of it.
Is it allowed to be used as a pet? Yes
Where does it live? Typically in whatever shop it was in when its sapience was noticed and it was then embodied. It will usually become the pet of the shop owner or technician who discovered it.
If one were to kill someone, what would people do to it? Blast it and melt it down, unless its owner was able to fight off whoever was angry about it. He will fight if he thinks the person who got killed deserved it.

What are expensive resources you can get from it? Nothing. They're little Decepticons-in-Spirit and will probably be trying to swipe things from YOU, sort of like how countries with wild monkeys have to worry about the animals snatching stuff and running off.
No war RPs; no open RPs.

There are six 'standard' male dress codes in Great Nortend: Court dress, evening formal dress, evening informal dress, day formal dress, day informal dress, day undress. Note that 'dress blue' is in fact a rich black.

Court dress : Court dress is a very formal dress code, and is worn in the day and evening, at court. This includes judicial courts, as well as at royal courts, balls, dinners, parties and levées. At other occasions, certain civic officers may wear court dress. It consists of, in a general sense, a dress blue cloth or velvet tailcoat, a white satin waistcoat, white jabot, bands or bow-tie, dress blue knee-breeches, white silk stockings, black patent leather buckled shoes (slippers in the evening), black silk or beaver cocked hat, white gloves and sword. The shirt is of white cloth, with ruffled cuffs. A detachable collar is worn, either with wings or standing. Wigs are worn by those entitled thereto. Most commonly, court dress is worn by those persons attending court.

Evening formal dress : Evening formal dress consists of a dress blue cloth tailcoat (of a cut-away style) with black silk lapels, white cloth waistcoat, white bow tie, dress blue trousers with black silk stripe, black patent leather slippers, black silk top hat, white gloves and cane. The shirt is stiff bibbed and of white cloth, with single cuffs and cufflinks. A detachable collar is worn, either a wing collar or plain standing. It is commonly worn at public evening events, dinner parties and the like.

Evening informal dress : It is much the same as formal evening dress except that the tailcoat is replaced with a dinner coat, still of dress blue cloth and black silk lapels. A dress blue cloth waistcoat is also worn, with a black silk tie an option instead of white. Otherwise, it is the same. It is commonly worn at private family dinners.

Day formal dress : Day formal dress is commonly known as morning dress. It consists of a dress blue cloth morning coat or frock coat, a dress blue or pale cloth waistcoat, a silk bow-tie or neck-tie, grey striped trousers, black leather boots, grey spats, black silk or beaver top hat, pale gloves and cane. The shirt is of plain white or striped pale cloth, with single cuffs and cufflinks. A white detachable collar is worn, normally a wing collar. 'Pale' refers to any pastel colour, although pale yellow, pale blue and pale grey are most common. It is commonly worn to formal events during the day.

Day informal dress : Day informal dress is commonly known as simply day dress. It is much the same as morning dress, except the frock coat or morning coat is replaced with a day coat. The top hat is replaced with another suitable day hat, in black silk or beaver. A turn-down collar may be worn instead of the wing collar. Otherwise, it is the same as morning dress. It is commonly worn in day-to-day formal settings.

Day undress : Day undress consists of either a suit of dittos, being a suit with coat, waistcoat and trousers of the same fabric or a suit of twos, being a coat and waistcoat of the same fabric and trousers of a contrasting fabric, usually grey. It is worn with a silk neck-tie, black or burgundy boots, appropriate gloves, and a felt hat in the winter and a straw hat in the summer. The shirt is of plain white or plain or striped pale cloth, with single cuffs and cufflinks. A white detachable collar is worn, usually a turn-down collar, which may or may not be rounded. It is commonly worn in informal settings.
