I want to start designing a nation and I was wondering if there are any established worlds that I can set it in.

There are some choices I can suggest:
1. A well-known universe (Lord of the Rings, Elder Scrolls, Dune, etc.)
2. Another NS nations's universe, usually in an RPing region

I'd suggest you make your own universe, you can base it on the real world but set to your tech level. Nobody cares about regions, they're Western imperialist propaganda.

Hello. I'm trying to work on a new and improved factbook, but I'm having a lot of trouble on uploading photos to my pages. Another complication is that I'm making my own user - generated maps, and I have no idea on how to get my own created images onto the game.

You can't upload images directly to this site, you have to first upload them to an image hosting site (my personal preference is cubeupload, since it's super simple, but the most popular choice is Imgur) and then paste the URL of the image alone in between the tags.

And you very likely already know this, but I just have to say it (because it's the most common image posting error that happens here): but you have to post the URL of the thing that ends with .jpg, .png, or .gif (depending on the type of image you uploaded) and not just the URL of the page you get when you upload the image, otherwise it won't work.

Here's a good idea for factbooks: keep factbook images small/medium and then link it to a big version of the image, so that when someone clicks the small image, they get linked to its full version.

I mean, I'd say legislation since constitutions are considered to be legal documents that lay down the fundamental laws of a state.

When I had a news thread, I would just think up bizarre scenarios. You can also use real life events and model your news of of those. Basically, when coming up with a scenario, PERSON/ORGANIZATION/NATION wants/does SOMETHING, but _____ so _____.

Hello, I've been struggling with this one all morning. My gameside factbook in question is still a very heavy WIP but I need to get this issue out of the way first.

I'd like to know if there's a way for my box on the left (Ministry of Defense) to sit at the top of the factbook (below red header submenu), while I keep all the boxes on the right (Ground Force, Maritime Force, etc) on the right of the page. It seems that whenever I add more than one box on the right, the one on the left goes down (while its intended purpose is to sit at the top so the reader scrolls down for more details on the right).

If this isn't possible, would it be doable if I switched them around? (ie, putting the single Ministry box on the right and the several others on the left).
For some reason I can't have the same formatting within the boxes, the ones set to be [floatleft] will need to have [table-plain] if I want to put info, while those set on [floatright] can have the usual [floatleft] tags to arrange the info within.

Anyone know how I can fix that?

To begin with, I am not experienced in any language beyond English and Indonesian. So I want to ask if anyone fluent in Arabic can help me with writing my national motto:

The motto is "Spread the jubilation to the eight corners of Creation". The original declaration is "We shall spread the jubilation to the eight corners of Creation!".

Yes, but as per the Welcome to Factbooks & National Information sticky, they must be substantive.

Which basically just means the OP needs to be more than 'Here is our Q&A thread, you can ask us anything about our nation' (have your OP summarize your nation and what it's like, for example, that can help people think about what kind of questions they'd want to ask) and obviously try to have your answers be more than one word replies.

I just use Paint.NET and draw my maps in that, I don't use a program specifically dedicated to mapmaking tbh.
