So, the leader of my nation, President Õismaa, is a lesbian. I am also a lesbian IRL.
I'm curious as to how different nations here would react to the leader of a nation, or perhaps another position such as diplomats, etc being LGBTQ+.


I know not everyone is as accepting of it as others may be, so I am expecting to see some who are not going to like it, etc. I can accept that. But as I am, try to think of this as your nations and your leaders "characters", as that is what I am doing, any rude comments made about my IRL gayness I'd rather not see, so try to keep it civil, please.

Religion is a major influence on the empire. As such, LGBTQ+ people are heavily discriminated against and even attacked and murdered.

The brother of Laurent Peltier was Gay, it's actually what convinced Laurent Peltier to move towards legalizing gay marriage (although it would take the People's Assembly several more years to pass the legalization).

My people are depraved pansexuals that cosider others to be freaks for not being attracted to at least three genders or species.

The Imperial-State of Soleanna, a militaristic yet theocratic nation sees such accusation as a blasphemous sin. The fact that nation is being led by a human disgrace is absurd.... one who thinks a rainbow is the answer to everything are ludicrously mistaken. Soleanna sees the nation in question as a delinquent hivemind, needing retribution.

Homosexuality is completely normal in Blodrike – the queen is open about her romance and sex life with many women. If you oppose it, you'll be suspected as a Christian and investigated. (Abrahamic religions are illegal)

Religion is also a major influence on the Theocracy of Happy Christian Land. However, it's not *conservative* religion in this case - it's Mainline Protestantism. Same-sex marriage is legal, and relations with Iceland are good.

So it's fine here. We haven't yet had an LGBT head of state in Happy Christian Land, but there are other positions of power that are filled by gay or lesbian bishops.

Many people consider Fliumenot Antiubodulo to be asexual, and they honestly don't care about sexuality anyway.

Most Jebslunden couldn't care less one way or another. LGBTQ+ individuals are just people to them.

They make fantastic target practice, positions of power or no. People like that aren't tolerated in Gharrowian society whatsoever.

Kynelanders are completely and utterly fine with LGBT persons being in non-royal positions of power. They don’t consider it worthy of concern.

However, Kynelanders disapprove of homosexual monarchs. It’s not considered fine, as the monarch wouldn’t sire an heir.

Our second Prime Minister was openly bisexual and our tenth Prime Minister was openly lesbian and married her girlfriend while in office.

Guess how our nation feels about LGBTQ people in power.

Like most other African countries the view on LGBT leadership in government is extremely negative and banned

The nation is neutral towards LGBTQ peoples overall, but Royals who are LGBTQ are often disapproved of by the religious communities

We don't want gays or transvestites in office in the same way that we don't want a schizophrenic in office. In order to be a leader of the Aryan people, or to represent them, you obviously need to be in a sound state of mind.

They are executed on sight.

Not just the men, but the women and children too.

The people of Datlof are a very accepting people and therefore have no problem with such things. In fact, the current leader of Datlof is himself bisexual.

We treat LGBTQ+ people with equal rights compared to heterosexual citizens, and we have a lot of them in government. Knowing that there aren’t any restrictions on who one can love actually streamlines the process of governing by a significant amount. Plus, we allow small scale polygamy (2-5 people can be in relationships with one another at once), which actually reduces bullying a lot.

TLDR, we’re radically tolerant and it works.
