Nation: The Federal Republic of Dagnia

Does YN have land borders with other nations? We have borders with other nations in space, not on land or anything else.
Is YN part of any open border agreement? No
Who is responsible for guarding YN's borders? The military and border patrol
How strict is the border control out of 10? (0 = no checks at all, 10 = closed borders) 8
What security features do borders have?We have a virtual bubble surrounding our solar system, a system that detects any man-made objects entering.

Does YN allow foreigners? (if answer is no, ignore all the following questions)
What travel documents are required/accepted? Passports, visas
Are there immigration checks on entry, exit or both? Both
Are there any internal border checkpoints? No
Is a visa or entry permit required? Yes
How to get a visa, and how much does it cost? You must apply through a Dagnian embassy or through our State Ministry website. The cost depends on the visa. Tourist visas are 20 zlotys, business visas are 100 zlotys and guest worker visas are 1000 zlotys one time for the worker him/herself plus an additional 10,000 that must be paid by the employer in Dagnia and an outside sponsor each annually.
Are any nationalities or groups exempt from visa requirements? We have treaties with a few allies that allow visa-free and even passport-free (assuming other identification can be provided) entry.
How long are foreigners allowed to stay at a time? Can this be extended? Tourists and people on business may stay up to a month. Guest workers may stay a year. Extensions are half the cost of the original visa for each additional period, however with guest visas, sponsors must continue to pay the full 10,000 each year.
What happens to people who overstay? The penalty is between 3 and 12 strokes of a thick judicial cane to be carried out at once if under 8 or in installments if over 8 and/or a fine between 100,000 and 1,000,000 zlotys. The caning is no slap on the wrist, it can leave permanent injuries or at least scars. Extenuating circumstances can spare guest workers from caning and fines as there have been cases of employers seeking to stiff workers on their last paycheck by withholding it until after the worker would be in violation. In this case, the employer may face the fines and caning that would have gone to the worker.

Nation:

Does YN have land borders with other nations? No. Luminoseiya is a large archipelago, the closest nation would be the Free Confederate Communities, which is considered by the Luminoseiyan government to be a white nationalist ethnostate and therefore antithetical to the views of the party. Luminoseiya has no contact with them.
Is YN part of any open border agreement? No.
Who is responsible for guarding YN's borders? The People's United Armed Forces protect the sovereign land that the Community of Luminoseiya claims.
How strict is the border control out of 10? (0 = no checks at all, 10 = closed borders) 10, but with exceptions that will be explained.
What security features do borders have? The PUAF focuses heavily on an advanced coastal guard and air force to prevent fascist invasion of the islands.

Does YN allow foreigners? (if answer is no, ignore all the following questions) Yes. Any leftist who serves a year in the PUAF, or provides a specialized service earns citizenship.
What travel documents are required/accepted? Theoretically, none for immigration. Tourism requires an electronic visa, a passport from a nation not condemned by the party, and full vaccinations.
Are there immigration checks on entry, exit or both? Both.
Are there any internal border checkpoints? Yes, outside of the Home Island.
Is a visa or entry permit required? Yes.
How to get a visa, and how much does it cost? One simply must apply through the tourism website and pay 50,000 Reales, or 500 US dollars.
Are any nationalities or groups exempt from visa requirements? Anti-theists, Fascists, and felons cannot enter the islands.
How long are foreigners allowed to stay at a time? Can this be extended? They can stay for as long as they like.
What happens to people who overstay? Not a thing.

ISSUE AT DISCUSSION
Visas and immigration

Does your nation have land borders with other nations?
Zitru shares land borders with Alderia, Avantia, Dzukeland and Gerelia.

Is your nation part of any open border agreement?
While the International Border Agreement exists between the majority of countries in mainland Zurope, Zitru is not a part of the agreement.

Who is responsible for guarding your nation’s borders?
The Zitran Border Patrol, the uniformed law enforcement arm of the Zitran Customs and Border Protection (a component of the Department of Homeland Security), is responsible for controlling who and what enters the country.

How strict is the border control out of 10?
The borders of the Federal Republic of Zitru can only be crossed at official checkpoints (for example airports, ports and border crossings on major roads). Vehicles entering the country via road will be subject to inspection and all occupants will be required to present their passports to a customs officer. At airport and port checkpoints, visitors will be required to present their passports and will be subject to biometric security checks (fingerprinting and retinal scans).

What security features do borders have?
Aside from the aforementioned security checks, there are no other security features at border crossings apart from armed officers who patrol the border. There has never been a major issue with illegal aliens attempting to enter the country, so security is relatively lax compared to other countries.

Does your nation allow foreigners?
Yes, provided abide by Federal Law.

What travel documents are required/accepted?
Foreigners attempting to enter the Federal Republic of Zitru are required to present a passport that is valid for at least 6 months more than they intend to stay. All visitors are also required to fill out a Federal Travel Authorization (FTA) form.

Are there immigration checks on entry, exit or both?
Luggage, passports and FTAs are checked upon entry and exit.

Are there any internal border checkpoints?
No, travel between states is open and unregulated.

Is a visa or entry permit required?
Yes, except for citizens of Zuropean Union members and Astyrian nations (who only require an FTA form).

How to get a visa, and how much does it cost?
Prior to travel, foreign nationals who are required to apply for a visa must do so on the Zitran Customs and Border Protection website at least 30 days before they intend to enter the Federal Republic of Zitru. Doing so will grant them an electronic visa, which will come into effect immediately after their application is accepted and will be valid for 6 months of travel plus the 30 day required application period. Alternatively, foreigners can obtain a paper visa at a Zitran embassy.

Are any nationalities or groups exempt from visa requirements?
Citizens of nations that are members of the Zuropean Union and/or are located in Astyria are exempt from visas and are only required to fill out an FTA form prior to entering the Federal Republic of Zitru.

How long are foreigners allowed to stay at a time? Can this be extended?
FTA forms and visas are valid for a 6 month period and cannot be extended except in emergencies.

What happens to people who overstay?
Foreigners who overstay their valid visitation period will be in breach of Federal Law and can face a fine of up to $5,000. This fine must be paid if they wish to return to the Federal Republic of Zitru in the future.

A Clearance to Enter (Simple) document can be obtained much more easily by expressing one's intention to enter Kesarsey for the purpose of tourism, or on business for a limited time. These are issued upon proof of ownership of a valid foreign government's passport. Business visas are issued in order to permit residence for a duration of up to 6 months (for a fee of £1.10 (c. $100)), whilst tourist visas cost 10/6d (c. $45).
Are any nationalities or groups exempt from visa requirements? No specific nationalities, though clergymen of the Orthodox Church from any country visiting to perform religious duties are exempt, and Christians from any country seeking to enter for pilgrimage purposes may be permitted entry for up to one month without a visa.
How long are foreigners allowed to stay at a time? Can this be extended? Visas are issued with a variety of durations (see above). Within the last six months of the expiry of the visa, those wishing to remain in Kesarsey are required to re-apply, according to the same five points listed above, but in addition detailing the work and contributions they have made to Kesarseian society during their stay and why they wish to re-apply. If, at this stage, their application is rejected, the decision may be appealed to the Court of Aids (see here). After five full years of residence, legal residents are permitted to apply to become naturalised subjects of the Crown if they so wish.
What happens to people who overstay? Overstaying the time stated on one's Clearance to Enter document is a criminal offence, and will result in arrest, trial before the Court of Aids, and if found guilty, an expulsion order involving the forced repatriation of the convict.
