Democratic Lykna Inquiry Office [Q&A]
Posted: Sat Apr 28, 2018 6:31 pmDemocratic Lykna is an island state with a population of 3,114,385. Out of these, more than 2.2 million are female, a demographic anomaly caused by a past war.
As a result, we have been ruled by women consecutively since 1974, first as an absolute monarchy, then a parliamentary monarchy. Now we are a democratic republic. Our current PM is Gina Horroway, however, since there is (finally!) an election gonna come up very soon, this might change in the near future.
The official language is English. Yet, there is a number of minority languages spoken, including but not limited to: French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Swahili, Chinese.
A common misconception is our label as Matriarchy, letting people imagine Lykna as an iron fist gynocracy where men have no rights or chance to become high-ranking. This is not true. We're equal, and discrimination based on sex (or ethnicity, or whatever) is outlawed and also no practice.

General questions will be answered by me, Courtney Maynard. Though, also leading politicians or random citizens have the possibility to answer in here if asked specific/personal questions, for example personal political opinions, which I am not allowed to answer, as I don't have a party affiliation. Which is intentional, as Inquiry Officials need to be independent by law. This also saves our job in case of a government change.
