Homelessness was eradicated by the 5th Consul, Consul Maria Sagul when the mandatory home and housing act was passed in the senate guaranteeing all citizens a place to live. Citizens usually had two options when it came to housing, small apartments in the already large cities of the home worlds or a plot of land in the outter colonies to encourage growth of the colonies. Those who migrate to colonies with hostile wild life and aggressive natives are also given a government bonuses for their efforts of colonizing and taming these worlds for the Republic.

Anarchitarians are socially responsible for aiding a homeless person should they encounter one. Some options may include housing the person in an Anarchitarian's home temporarily or immediately find them a shelter elsewhere. Nonetheless, it is extremely uncommon to see such a disenfranchised person in our society.
Peter Kropotkin wrote, “We accustom ourselves and our children to hypocrisy, to the practice of a double-faced morality. And since the brain is ill at ease among lies, we cheat ourselves with sophistry. Hypocrisy and sophistry become the second nature of the civilized man. But a society cannot live thus; it must return to truth or cease to exist.” The Conquest of Bread (1892)

Flaireis has little problem with homelessness, given that government public housing is extensive. However, homelessness is an inevitability. At the very least, there are sizeable welfare programs that make sure that people who are homeless can feed themselves and even families if the need presents itself. Most Flaireizi individuals are sympathetic to the homeless as well.

Homelessness in the Mujin Empire

The relative prosperity of the modern era notwithstanding, there have been times in the Mujin history, even as recently as the last century, where things were much more desperate. Owing to the overall density of urban environments within the Mujin Empire (owing largely to the mountainous terrain) and past events, there is a housing shortage on the national level which the government is struggling to address.

The government has constructed State Dormitories in the past, and continues to do so. These dorimtories are available for any individuals of working age and appropriate physical condition. They are essentially studio apartments - often shared with two or three individuals - with basic amenities provided. Tenement in such a dwelling is an included bonus of acting as labour for various state reconstruction projects.

Of course, not all homeless are in a position to take advantage of such a deal. Sweeping social programs are in keeping with the Mujin ethos of facing their problems head-on. A vareity of shelter, councilling, and rent-supplementation programs are also available.

The State Minister for Housing and Urban Development has pledged to eliminate the housing shortage by 2025. Whether this will do anything to alleviate the problem of homelessness entirely remains to be seen.

We had a large homelessness problem in the early to mid 1990's in the aftermath of the collapse of most of our allied states and our separation from our parent nation. A large social welfare project was put into place to deal with the issue and within 10 years time homelessness was almost non-existent. Homelessness remains a small problem today, mostly due to mental illness

Rates of homelessness have stayed consistently low since our nation's founding, though there have been small spikes in the past due to some governmental in-fighting, poor budgeting, and a particularly angry Ignisi Wolf pack hellbent on being rude to lumberjacks. We, the government, try to make sure everyone can live as well and contently as possible. Necessities like housing, education, food, water, electricity, etc. are managed by the state. Once housing is built and certified, we make it's put to use by those who are entitled to it.

All of that said, the state continues to struggle to decide if our more "adventurous" residents who rough it in our many lush forests for long periods of time and don't build (at least) semi-permanent settlements are technically homeless or just (broadly-speaking) living in "the woods".

There is practically little to no homelessness in Arrow Northland, as housing is a right to all citizens here. Homeless Northerners are provided state housing and clothing to provide protection and security for them against poverty, disease and the harsh elements, primarily the cold temperatures of the winter.

Like in the case of any other form of assistance, a fulfillment of a social duty in the form of education, raising a family, national service, working, creating arts and crafts, drug and crime rehabilitation or otherwise is expected in return to show national solidarity and social integration. Antisocial attitudes and behavior on the other hand are met with non-cooperation and increasingly coercive measures to get the antisocial individual integrated back into society.

The government will give them just enough resources to survive, ie a home, some food supply, water, and electricity. What they’ll get won’t be high quality or fancy, but it would be just enough to keep them alive.

Homelessness is an almost non-existent sight in Zhouran. In the unlikely event someone becomes homeless, whether they were kicked out of home by their loved ones or fled away from family, Zhouran's National Universal Income System acts as a financial safety net so that the individual can still buy goods or services with money. Not only that, as long as the individual has a job, they can earn income and use their money to move into a house since the money received from the monthly NUIS is not enough to buy a home and pay for utilities and as a result the individual must still look for a job so as to buy a home in the first place. Once the homeless individual has a job and a steady work income supplemented by their monthly NUIS, then they can buy a home, buy food & clothing, and pay for taxes and utilities, thus taking them out of homelessness and putting them back on track as a productive member of Zhouranese society, thereby contributing to social mobility and to the non-existence of homelessness in the country.

We don't have any homeless.
Many Madokas and Homuras sleep in the same bed. This saves enormous amounts of house space. You can probably fit around 10 madohomus (slang for madokaxhomura couple) in one house comfortably if not more. If we get too many alternate timeline residents we can always go poly and bundle up 3 per bed.

Charities regularly operate night shelters and soup kitchens, the government gives local councils financial incentives to build social housing where required, which Outreach Officers and charities can help the homeless apply for.

Those made homeless through fire or other disaster are referred to social services by the local rescue service (mostly the fire service for displacement through fire).

Homelessness itself in Orestea is almost nonexistent, but even with a healthy amount of socialism in the government, poverty is still visible in society. Sadly, those who actually are homeless also tend to be the ones most endangered by their circumstances.

Housing is provided in five- or six-story tall government complexes within the capital and urban center, Sunshine City, which provide standardized apartments to those without the means to secure better housing, or those displaced by circumstance. Water is provided freely while electricity in these complexes is heavily subsidized; internet and television service must be secured individually but a government-run cable infrastructure means that even these can be affordable. Food assistance is provided in some portion for all citizens of Orestea, but outside of Orestean-grown fruits and vegetables, the quality of food this guarantees can be substandard. Almost no assistance is given for quality of life goods, with appliances in government housing remaining very basic or even outdated, and personal electronic ownership being low among the poor.

Life in rural areas is substantially better for those with shelter, but almost no government housing exists outside of the city. Neighbors tend to be very supportive of those in their communities, and access to agriculture or home gardens is extremely high. Many farmers are happy to provide food to their community or its pillars (churches, libraries, recreation centers, etc.) and generous freshwater springs around Orestea ensure drinkable water is at the most extreme just a short journey away. However, unless they have a friend who will house them or a community willing to erect an inhabitable structure, rural homeless must go to the city if they are desperate.

Finally, since it is possible for an individual to be kicked out of government housing for unruly behavior or criminal activity, there are sadly some cases where an addiction or other issue results in an at-risk individual being forced to move onto the streets. Due largely to the well-known government housing service, there are few places even in Sunshine City where the truly destitute can be sheltered.

Homelessness does not effect us here in The Tyronian Democratic Republic of Lanorth. Out of our the seventy million people who reside in Lanorth, only around 1.1% are homeless. For the few who are homeless we have a large programme to help deal with homelessness. Most people who are homeless are asked to undergo fitness tests and if they are fit enough will have the opportunity to join the Tyronian Armed Forces and get a home that their chosen branch pays for. For those not fit enough, they are given jobs in supermarkets and will be given state-owned apartments to live in. So, we do not consider homelessness to be a problem.

If anyone becomes homeless, we get them a job (one that can be done by anyone which also helps their city) and allot some public housing. They can stay in the public housing until they buy their own house. They can keep the job as long as they want. We will also offer them some education to help them get a better job, if they so prefer.
