Until 1961 the nation had free elections and was in the process of becoming a modern Vreyan-stye democratic state. However a Ba'athist coup supported by the vast majority of the military took power and has ruled the nation as the only legal party. Over 20.7 million people reside in the nation today and it maintains a very large defense force funded mainly by the Aitic Federation, Verheit and the Caraq Union, and while its economy isn't as strong as many Vreyan nations, It still is in the process of a large growth.

(strengths/weaknesses): Semat has a very well-funded Military along with very large oil deposits, located mostly within the north-western Desert. However its economy is not the strongest and its HDI is significantly lower than developed Vreyan nations.

Segovia was once a colony to (insert the Spain of this world here, I think Torroso) and over a violent Revolutionary War in the 1820s, gained its independence and swiftly installed a Republic. The country was naturally rich, but was set in a dry region, as it lies west of the (insert mountain range name here). This being, people relied on what fruits and food they could grow, and what they can be self reliant on. This being, the nation did not quickly modernize.

By the early 20th century, Segovia had grown to import more products that the modern world demanded. This included various metals, chemicals, and etc. As time went on, Segovia became more wealthy and prosperous. During the 12 years war, Segovia did not intervene much, opting to stay neutral and be in good terms with both sides in order to benefit from trading resources for the war effort. During the late 60s, Segovia began to struggle due to poor leadership from left-leaning leaders. The military was eventually fed up with the socialist groups, that the head of Segovia's defense, Emiliano Leoz, took power in the country and set up a Right-Wing Authoritarian Military dictatorship. As of now, the nation is still friendly with other nations, and still has a liberal economy.

Geography and climate of nation:
Segovia to its East is very wet, and is on the other side of a mountain range that runs in the middle of Segovia. Farming here is great, and lumber is one of the greatest exports because of its region. Towards the South and the West, the nation is more arid, and has less farming potential. However, this region is rich with metals as well as chemicals for trade.

Segovia resides on the Southern Hemisphere, and enjoys Warm summers (in the mide 20s Celsius) and can have cooler winters (especially towards the south of its nation). Segovia does not have too long of either summer or winters, as it is not directly under the Hemisphere.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
It will be a pretty good place for trade. But, Segovia will not be involved in foreign affairs outside of its local neighborhood. This being, it is not at all a world power in the region.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
I would subtract my size, as well as taking away a chunk of my population. This is because it owns the whole of the south-most peninsula on the Southern Western continent.

Brief background of nation (or link to iiwiki page): Paviga and Skaudšciai is a very new state, only existing since the 70's. Prior to that, there were 2 nations, which were in a civil war for around 10 years due to issues involving the capital of Skeilius. Even though Paviga and Skaudšciai is one nation, many issues exist between the 2 states, including seperate borders, army and issues of currencies (although the currency is unified). The nation is currently in a fragile state, with high income inequality, hyperinflation, threats from neighbouring countries such as Rohst and the unstability of the Pavigan and Skaudšcian federal system causing unrest.
