Lancov is known for minced meat and flatbread, possibly because of the success of The Flatbread Factory, an international chain of casual restaurants that serve Lancovian food. Authentic Lancovian food contains heavy emphasis on legumes and vegetables, which often outnumber the amount of meats at the typical Lancovian dinner table. Pastas and whole grains such as barley and rice round out most full meals. Olive oil, various types of sour cream, and sauces are often liberally used.

Lancov has a fascination with pastries such as strudel and baklava, and is a major wine-producing region.

We're probably most known for Academy City's plethora of varied and imaginative noodle-based dishes, which collectively can include nearly any ingredient imaginable. However, the Province of Marsei has a rich and robust seafood-based Mediterranean cuisine, while in Goliad and Yushan they favor more traditionally Asian fare and Beaumonde prefers a more Creole/Cajun sort of cuisine.

We are also know for our complete lack of "fast food" type restaurants, which in the past has proven problematic for some of our less gastronomically adventurous tourists.

Seafood is a major staple. Shrimp, crab, trout and salmon being the main dishes. Often seafood is fried, grilled or boiled.

Besides seafood, beef and turkey are another major source of meat. Barbecue and fried is most often how beef and turkey are served.

Hushpuppies, grilled corn, steak fries and vegetable stir fry are the main sides. Sometimes coleslaw is served as a side but is usually used as a sandwich/burger ingredient.

Mushrooms are used in a lot of dishes, soups, stews and is the most popular pizza topping.

Sweets and desserts often contain either apple, cinnamon, pumpkin, blackberry or maple in them in some form. Carrot cake is the most popular cake in the country.

Please expand your OP, otherwise this thread will be locked. I would recommend a basic introduction to cuisine, perhaps how cultural tastes toward food change over time; an OP that amounts to a response with an implied "see title" is not sufficient. Otherwise, in its current form, this is better suited for the Misc. Worldbuilding Thread.

Since Cagliostro was originally a part of Italy, most Italian dishes are fairly popular. However, since it's near Austria as well, Austrian and German dishes can be pretty popular.

State77's popular dishes are the result of geography and climate. Being a maritime nation in the tropics, the natural resources on land and at sea have influenced which dishes are popular.

Popular dishes include black pepper crab, coconut shrimp and spicy mango salad.
