Banning the use of any symbols that has any context related to the opposition is prohibited according the 1848 Constitution of the RSFS Okstovskaya, as it is a violation of civil and political rights (S.19 C.3-ct.12b). This includes the protection of rights to publicly show fascist, nationalistic, imperialist, racist, anti-religious, anti-communist, and political correctivist symbols or flags.

Although it is constitutionally legal to fly, for example, a Nazist flag in public, like the flag of the Okstov Nazi Party, such stunts are, for the Okstov society, anti-human and absurd acts, hence that these events are controversial. Netizens despise such symbols, often encouraging the masses to mutilate any physical symbols shown outside personal property, or distantly visible if within personal property. That, of course, is the entrance in personal property without permission or consent, or simply trespassing.

The Socialist Government allows the flying of opposition flags within government premises. But in and during Independence Day of August 31st, only leftist/leftic flags are allowed to be flown around the country, with the exception of the unofficial flag of the country during the nationalist dictatorship of Agruto Pïçeto from ~1973-late 1980s, which presents a fasces in the middle of a modified RSFSO flag, replacing the hammer and sickle. The historical flag will be already hoisted before the nationwide holiday, on 20:00-23:00 pm of Aug. 30th, and will be lowered in the afternoon of 31st, touching the dirt-covered ground, and burned, as an act of denouncing the Piçeto regime. It is often led by the three High Executife officials, particularly the President.

Most controversial would be the short-lived, separatist area named Zakhoren whose flag is white, with a broad black border, and features two blue 'trident heads' in the centre.

The Imperial flag of the Pantopian Empire (1921-1947) is banned as a hate symbol in Pantopia, due to the Imperial regimes segregationist policies. Flying this flag will result in a steep fine.

One must not fly, in an honorific or even neutral manner, any flag symbolizing anything other than the Decepticon Nation or one of its Associations in Good Standing. ~Paraphrase from the Decepticon Legal Handbook

In plain terms, this means you can only fly the Decepticon Flag and/or the flag of a Decepticon raid gang, syndicate, or a *gasp* legitimate Decepticon business or recreational association.

Those who defy the rule are guilty of supporting a foreign state (or organization), or an organization deemed to be an enemy of the People or State of the Decepticon Nation. That is flat-out treason and will result in your Metal being reclaimed for use by proper Decepticons (aka, meltdown).

Note that the rule specifies that un-Decepticon flags may not be flown honorifically or neutrally - not that you can't have them at all. You can hold any unauthorized flag up as it burns, is covered in the sludge from used oil, or is otherwise clearly being dishonored. Still, flag-burning has always been discouraged even when it's the enemy's flag, for that hostility is far more strategically released as blaster fire aimed directly at the actual enemy on the field of battle.

There is also an exception for movies, but ONLY on the set and on the subsequent finished content. We think it would make for silly-looking movies if all of the enemies had censored insignia and flags. Plus, we want everyone to know whose asses our movie-troops are kicking! That said, all such insignia is forbidden from the confines of the movie lot, editing studio, and the final film. If an actor walked outside with it on, passers-by would not stop to question why he had it - they'd just blast him as an enemy out of hand, and that'd be that.

The only flag that is "banned" from being flown in Ruritane is the Swedish flag, because of the atrocities Sweden committed upon Ruritane during the War of Austrian Secession, which included murdering civilians, burning down the royal palace, and rape. The normal sentence is two days in prison or a $2000 fine.

There are some flags which aren't banned by law, but are frowned upon. Those include the Nazi flag, the Soviet flag, the ISIS flag, and the French flag.

There are no banned flags in Greater Eireann; however, there are a few that are certain to get you some looks:

The old Fascist party flag
The Greater Gandhistan or Danielinia flag (We are currently in a cold war with them)
The flag of a certain Stalinist nation
Any kind of Islamist flag, especially the one of SoJusRefugees
The flags that contain obscene imagery
The North Sea Federation, established 1421 A.D.
A British-Nordic nation with strong democratic traditions and an elective monarchy.

While no flags are banned by the government, flying flags depicting communist or fascist symbols will likely result in a negative reaction from among the general population.

flags bearing fascist or monarchist symbols are illegal to fly or for an individual to own, but museums and historical collections can display them for the purpose of education and posterity.

Literally the only flags that are outright banned are flags of Islamic Terrorist groups, but the Saudi Arabian flag also has a negative stigma. Of course, this is coming from a country where Nazi symbols are re-purposed for advertising.

There are no official bans but if you display nazi swastika, hammer and sickle (due to association with state communism, but ancoms are 100% welcome), Russian flag (due to conflict with Russian state/military) or other fascist, imperialist or terrorist flags/related symbols, people will be against this and at minimum will remove the flag.

There are several.

[*] The Israeli flag (or any flag displaying jewish symbols such as the Star of David) is a strong taboo in Vaukiai, and displaying it publicly is a criminally punishable behavior.

[*] Communist flags are also frowned upon and tend to be censored. Displaying them publicly is also punishable.

[*] Other widely rejected flags are those displaying pirate symbols, LGBT rainbows, pagan symbols, or misdrawn Vaukiaian flags.

Controversial or taboo flags in the Republic include the former Rattanakosin and other dynastic flags, as well as the royal standard of the last king (Rama VIII) or the standards of the prime minister or the Plaek Philsonggram regime.

The Imperial Flag of the Japanese Empire and the Japanese puppet state of the Kingdom of Thailand are the only illegal flags in the Republic due to the atrocities committed against the Thai Republic and the Thai, Lao, and Cambodian people.

Communist and far-right flags are also frowned upon.

While modern Chisei does not have any officially banned or legally restricted flags, there are a number of controversial ones. One such flag would be the flag of the July Shacklers, a 19th century reformist group, which was later appropriated by the National Ashikasist Party, an anarchist revolutionary group. Under the Conciliar Regime of the 1920s - 1950s the party and it's symbols were outlawed, and while the ban on the organization was lifted in 1960, it's flag remains a symbol of protest and political disillusionment. Historical ties between the Ashikasist movement and the Chiseian socialist school have also led to the flag's popular contemporary usage being branded as evidence of infiltration by foreign communists into the Chiseian leftist, pro-democracy and trade unionist movements.

While Ieskarios generally allows the freedom to fly flags of your own choosing, only one flag has explicitly been banned within the nation.

This is the flag of the Εννέα Aετοί (Ennéa Aetoí), known in English as the Nine Eagles. They were a small faction of army colonels who overthrew the Ieskari monarchy in 1910 and established an authoritarian militarist republic shortly after. Called the "Banner of Christ", this flag was flown as the official flag of the nation from 1910 until the restoration of the monarchy and democracy in 1974. The regime was known for rampant antisemitism, its ruthless secret police, and disastrous intervention in foreign wars that nearly broke the country apart.

As for these reasons, following the restoration in 1974, the new king Amon VI requested the flag be banned. Parliament agreed, and it was banned the following year. Those who are caught with the flag in their possession risk fines, and those who fly it in any manner (excluding for educational purposes) will be subject to heavier fines or even jail time for up to 2 years for possession of offensive material.
