He is still clinging to the job despite months of bad press at this point.

At the beginning of the Great Chudokuren Civil War, insurgent forces attacked a biological weapons research facility known as the Sukui Facility. Densetsu Nana (Naosu) was there and was taken captive in the attack. Her life was threatened, and biological weapons would be deployed if the Chudokuren ruler didn't submit to rebel demands. Aozora Chiyumi, Supreme Overlady of All Reality and ruler of Kyoki Chudoku, was forced to venture personally and alone to meet the rebels and likely face her demise.

She secretly brought Shinokage (capable of invisibility magic) with her to free captured Chudokurens and incite reclamation of the area, also rescuing Naosu. While stalling, she was injected with nekofication serum. While suffering the pain from that, the breakout began and she was able to carve apart several traitors with her scythe and magic. However, one rebel managed to activate the bioweapkons. They successfully deployed and massive suffering ensued upon the civilian populations of nearby districts.

Aozora herself collapsed a result of magic overuse. This also left her burnt. She was infected with bioweapons. She was also hit by several bullets in the ordeal, and left nekofied. Although she would later emerge from her comatose state and make a full recovery thanks to advanced medical technology and magic, she would never forget the harrowing experience. It is believed to be the closest she has been to death.
