Has your nation evolved?

Hey guys,
Just curious as to how your nations has evolved throughout your time in NationStates.
My nation was originally founded similarly to the United States, as a republic. But I've decided to add a twist to my nation (for fun), and slowly begin to strip away citizen's rights and turn it into a totalitarian.
Have any of you done something similar?

Rhodevus originally started out as an idea of "What if the United States of America went from a republic to a monarchy?"
While this is still the origin story for the country, it has diverged entirely from being anything remotely like the USA into something with its own unique history, people and culture.

World building definitely makes the game more interesting.

I was sleep deprived when I made this nation, but it grew on Me. Now it is a bastion of my ideals.

Byzanthia originally started out as a "Byzantine-esque empire in Germany during the 1860s". It then evolved into a republic set in present day (same location though), and ultimately gave way to the current Hellenic Republic of Byzanthia, a Greek nation in the Peloponnesus that seceded from mainland Greece during the Greek War for Independence.

Valentine Z used to be a dictatorship, with low Civil Rights and Political Freedom. Now, I'm changing it back, and from 40% Integrity (NS Stats), I managed to climb back to 87% as of now.

I used to not have a direction of where my nation is going at that time, but eventually, with the NS Stats, I realised that I wanted to be that nation that is the top in compassion, niceness, inclusiveness, cheerfulness...

Fatatatutti has become more obsessed with ducks and fish than it was originally. We do follow the in-game stats, so for example, we have an army entirely supported by bake sales, which I would never have thought of originally.

According to what I remember, at first I intended to create a post-scarcity absolute monarchy, mostly based on a scenario of rpg that I created, but set in the real world, and throwing around my daily daydreams.
From this I did a time skip because my NStats were ahead of my speed for writing factbooks, and so went trying to fit things in more grounded horizons, and tried to throw around my IRL political ideas, and things turned out like they are now.
In the future, I am looking to add an alien invasion and space colonization.

Astradan's origins was as a monarchy that was constitutional in name only from it's founding in November 1815 until the liberal Socialist Party came to power in 1893. Between 1893 and 1903, the Socialists pushed for more democratic powers, and from 1903-1928, the moderate wing of the Loyalists, now in power, did the same. In 1928, the events of Red September ushered in a military dictatorship until 1937, lead by President Camanzo, who rejected socialism and federalism. In 1944, Astradan ushered in the New State, and while involved in the Second World War, the country itself wasn't affected that bad, yet with Europe in economic ruins, trade had declined dramatically and the economy was performing poorly, with trade restricted to the Iberian peninsula and southern and western France. The New State delegated more powers to the Provinces, and set the foundations for modern-day Astradan.

In the 9th century (19th century AD), Blodrike underwent an industrial revolution and steam engines became commonplace. That century also saw the construction of the Regnbuehavn & Nattfjord Railway, which was Blodrike's first railway, and the rest of the national rail network was quickly completed after that.

Well I knew I didn't want to make just another alternate history nation based on a preexisting one, so I figured I'd create an entirely new nation based on my own beliefs. Originally the planet it was set on was similar to Earth but every country had different names and such, but I found that was too much of a hassle to manage. And over time it's simply become what it looks now, and it honestly probably the country I've invested the most into.

[The Northeastern Confederation]

After the 21th century global cathastrophe, the Brazillian Republic fell apart and anarchy took controll of every major city in its northeast region. After more than a century of caos, the former capitals of the former states in what was known as northeast Brazil are now city-states, controlled by armed millitias/gangs.

These militias fought for centuries for land and supremacy and five of them stood out and ruled the region, disputing between themselves its people, land and ressources, but without conquering eachother, since they were about as strong as one another. Diplomacy took place and inter-city institutions started to be formed, a free trade zone was created and the military conflicts were translated into civilian conflicts.

But after southern invadors made a major caos into the region, the five city-states got toghether and fought to expell the foreign threat once and for all. After the war, the inter-city institutions and agreements, alongside the military alliance became one single entity, made to ensure the safety of the northeastern region against any form of outside interference, and this entity was the confederate government, made in a treaty in Recife.

[Die PreuBen Kaiserreich]

The Kaiserreich was the love child of two ideas in my head:

1. What if Prussia was still a dominant force in Germany?
and eventually, that idea was scrapped for a cooler one (it's still used in my puppet Die PreuBen Republik.):
2. What if Otto Von Bismarck didn't unite Germany under Prussian rule, but conquered them?

I tried to make it having good political freedoms but lower economic and civil freedoms, but eventually political freedoms dropped low enough to make it a Psychotic Dictatorship and I had to scrap the NS stats for a factbook that's in the making. I also had Kaiser Hans Wolfe II as leader for a while (founding to about 3 weeks ago) and originally Italy was the real "Nazi Germany" of the PTL (Prussian Timeline), but then it was Austria, but then I decided on Hungary as it was the alter ego of Austria (which I accidentally made part of our country in my factbooks). I also exist alongside FreedLymonia for some reason (don't ask me!). It just kinda... happened.

At first I had a lose set of unconnected ideas and eventually tied them together. It all started with a map.

I fleshed out the ideas behind it a lot, but the most noticeable evolution is in the language (by far the most detailed aspect of my nation), which has undergone changes in sentence structure, orthography, and pronunciation since I first created it.

Amenria used to be more fascist. Still heroic, but a bit more harsh. We have more chill now. We also used to be more Japanese-centric.

[Pilipinas and Malaya]

Mine used to be a meme-based State only in Philippines and Sabah but now it is a KPOP-centered nation with more territories and a history,culture and etc. (WIP) in depth.

My nation used to be corporate police state but now it became dictatorship and shity economy(that I don't get it on economic issues lol)

Originally, I planned to just create as bad of a country as possible and see what would happen.

However, I now have created a massive, militaristic autocracy occupying half of Europe and having the ability to rip apart entire countries. It actually has really low crime and good healthcare policies. However my people are very isolationist and extremely nationalist.

So yeah, I’d say it’s evolved.

Well the original idea of Vandario was that of a United Scandinavia that had not been Christianized. Then in early development I decided to maybe remove the Abrahamic Faith's all together, and later decided to just all together be a different world. Austnara is the name of the world, or as jokingly call it "not Earth" it's pretty much Earth if someone pressed the reset button, rerolled the dice at the start. So now it's got completely unique geography, history, all that. This way have a lot more creative freedom, plus I just enjoy world building for the sake of it. Vandario itself has evloved more in just becoming more and more detailed, with history mostly, but also government and the like. It's a Constitutional Federal Monarchy, a bit Authoritarian, and Nationalistic, but stable and undivided.

The idea behind Crylante has changed significantly from the founding idea of “liberal Switzerland”. When I joined my region, I wanted to place Crylante in the European continent, but the only space at the time was in the Nordic area so I had to change my culture from a largely Romance one in my initial conception to a Romance-Nordic mix, speaking Danish and Simplified Latin. Crylante also moved quite a bit in economic policy; when I started it was a social market economy leaning towards the economic right due to emphasis on a free market, but as I developed it more it became more social democratic.

A big more recent change was when I took on a Finnish multi that the owner didn’t want anymore, Nausikaa, and made it a part of Crylante. This added to Crylante’s heterogenous nature. I also decided to retcon the use of Simplified Latin in favour of a Romance conlang with heavy Nordic influence which Vrnallia is making for me.

Although the government structure (that is, a Swiss-style federation) has stayed the same as has the liberal views of the general populace and the luxury goods-based economy.

Prussiaholm had intended to be a somewhat benevolent absolute monarchy who's citizens had a ton of rights and the like. However, in my current region, Absolute Monarchies are pariahs in the international community.

[Sleet Clans]

I founded this nation based off of my fictional warrior alien race (Sleetavians) but in human form. It started out as a republic, but then I thought:

''Hmm, what if I have both a President and Emperor lead my nation?''

And thus, the Imperial Republic I use today was born. Having a vastly powerful military and industry was also highest on my priorities list, so I've often focused them and written the most factbooks about them.

Began as an ultra-neutral, ultra-centrist nation. Kinda laxed on the neutrality and centrism since.

Also my conlang had a ton of ûńñęčėśšårÿ dìâçrïtīćäł mârkš because I thought they looked cool when I was 15. I've also changed the spelling and pronunciation of words to get the "feel" I want.

[Democratic Exodian Territories]

OOC: It began as a purely meme nation, now it’s much more serious. I also abandoned the more FanT elements I originally planned, and decided to stick to PMT.

IC: Exodia has become more socially liberal in the past few years, with generally more tolerance towards Eastern religions such as Buddhism and Taoism, and no longer putting transgenders in mental hospitals.
Naturally, in true Exodian fashion, we’ve also greatly expanded our military assets as our small population soared, especially our Navy, and have expanded a bit into space.

Kenmoria started out as a precisely typical European nation, meant to be halfway between a realistic average and a satire of modern Europe. I then realised how hard this was and converted it into a fusion of Britain and France with some of my own ideas.
