LONG-ANSWER QUESTIONS
For this section, please provide at least a paragraph for each. You may provide a link to a previous piece of writing in lieu of a writing sample.

Please describe your nation. The SCCR was born of an 1897 revolution which brought an end to the long time reign of turkic Khanates in the region, although the Union between the many revolutionary armies and their respective proto-states was not formally joined until the formation of the SCCR in 1905. Since then the Union has persisted as a broad multi-ethnic power at the heart of Borea, built around the unification of many disparate Turkic peoples alongside numerous other nationalities of the surrounding lands, with their many faiths and languages. Early in its history, the Confederacy mobilized what resources it could muster in support of the working people of Borea. In many places, such as Lecia, Kheratia and Narmada, its efforts - and those of the domestic movements of course - would be successful, and new socialist regimes would be established, while in others the SCCR's efforts served only to irritate ruling governments. The SCCR had long been held together by the communist party and its internationalist ideology which crossed ethnic lines and united the many peoples of central Borea under one banner, and with this unity came the will to overcome the poverty and backwardness that had once so afflicted the people of the region. Under the guidance of the communist party, roads were built, mines opened, and the people were educated. Prosperity would not last in the end, however, and as the consequences of economic policies and social projects of the union's youth would come crashing down around it, the central government would begin to stagnate as its ideals lost their luster in the eyes of the people. While some of the Confederacy's old allies still remain by its side, others have become estranged over the years by ideological differences or shifting geopolitics, and the SCCR finds itself increasingly involved in the affairs of friendly nations, clinging to what foreign support it has left. With the crises of the turn of the second millennium behind it, the Socialist Confederation of Council Republics now sits at a crossroads in history. It is unquestionable that the status quo may not carry the people much further, but the question remains what will become of the union now? Will factions of the communist party rise to the occasion, will another political movement instead seize the initiative? Or will this be the end of the dream of a United Borea for the working people? The SCCR is a union in crisis.

Please provide a writing sample (recommended types: roleplay post, wiki article or news article). The al Tamer one

IN YOUR OPINION...
For this section, please answer the question from your honest and critical perspective.

...what role will your nation play in Esquarium?: It will be involved in regional geopolitics and maintain relations, and its internal conflicts will fuel roleplay arcs and newsposts
...what are the strengths of your nation?: Expansive territory and a central location in the continent, with long historical relations with its neighbors, although not many of these pleasant.
...what are the weaknesses of your nation?: Extreme internal tensions, ethnic tensions between both turkic peoples and the other nations under the union, tensions within the different turkic peoples encompassed within the pan-turkic identity at the core of the union, religious tensions between the many many faiths practices by the people, political tensions as the grip of the communist party on power wains with every passing day and political movements of dissent and opposition become prevalent, all in addition to a stagnant economy, a deficit of technology and reliance on imported resources
...in what ways could your nation be viewed as "overpowered"?: Its large size and significant population could prove to its advantage, but in many ways the expanse of the union is its own greatest weakness due to the diversity of its inhabitants and the resultant tensions that now threaten to tear apart the state from within

This app looks mostly fine but a few concerns would need to be addressed before my approval.
1) Have some kind of "common name". Even if it's "wrong" like calling the UNIR Ankoren or the rl USSR Russia it is preferable.
2) Much of it seems to have internal events happening with little influence from external events. It would be heavily recommended to have a commitment to have its internal events partly shaped by the external events so it will be integrated into regional canon better.
3) Go easy on attempting to railroad it as a regional power due to the current large amount of nations in Borea that try and have that status and its internal troubles.

Please describe your nation. Sirian is a bustling country with tons of nightlife, activity, and sporting events. The Stock Exchange is centered here in Sirian in the capital called Sirian River Valley and is home to 20 Fortune 500 Companies. Highways are mostly empty, because most people are usually hustling and bustling via public transportation. Beaches are sunny, and beach volleyball tournaments are usually played here. You will find a home in Sirian, wherever you go.

[size=150]The Sad State of Queen Alice/size]

Queen Alice has been sick for quite a while, she has Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and pneumonia. She knew her last days were coming but refused to listen to her doctors. She also weighed over 600 pounds. The Prince gave her fast food almost daily and she got sicker and sicker. Then, the doctor warned her on January 2, 2019 that she only had a month to live and she only lasted two weeks. The country was in mourning but they weren't shocked because of her expansive girth and her unhealthy lifestyle. King Albert IV took over and the monarchy was finally back on track and healthy again.

I've made the appropriate edits to the app.
In terms of foreign relations, I had from the start intentions to involve the SCCR both historically and in the present day with the plethora of leftist regimes it borders, as well as others that might be more historically hostile. I was just more focused on exposition over the Confederacy's internal conflicts. Rest assured, international involvement will most certainly be a thing.

As for the regional power thing I didn't really intend for the SCCR to really wield actual like influence and power on the regional stage anytime soon. For the most part the SCCR is about preventing collapse, its not important whether its becomes a power or not, so that is easily scrapped.

LONG-ANSWER QUESTIONS
For this section, please provide at least a paragraph for each. You may provide a link to a previous piece of writing in lieu of a writing sample.

Please describe your nation. Kraong Nam is a state treading a fine line. Throughout its history, it has been a more or less independent kingdom under the lineage of the Flower Kings, a position which is inherited through reincarnation as opposed to via bloodline. They maintained close ties to Min and the northern Narmadi princely states, trading in wood and metals. But as time passed, this position became less tenable. The Xiaodongese became more of a threat, before Narmada fell to communism. Kraong Nam was now flanked by powerful enemies. The Flower King at the time, Inrasara IV, was himself a leftist sympathiser and formulated a Khaturvist-Socialist and monarchist ideal of the state. He even opened negotiation with the Dalist-influenced Worker's Party of Kraong Nam, who gained influence in government. Communist ideals became popular across Kraong Nam, fuelled by slave-like working conditions in the mines and feudal agricultural sectors. This was seen most among the Alasian minority, who faced ethnic discrimination as well. But as the influence of communism, and by extension Narmada, increased, so did the fears of several generals that the King was too weak. A military coup in 1957 dismissed the leftist Lotus Society and put in place a military junta, with the feeble Inrasara as a figurehead. The Worker's Party and Lotus Society attempted a counter-putsch, which was defeated. The leftist forces were expelled from Kuta Pabay, the capital city, and began a guerilla struggle which continues to this day. The civil war raged for years, with the war damaging the Kraongnamese economy and infrastructure as they fought masses of Narmada-armed and trained peasant guerrillas. By 1994 the war seemed won. While the United Red Lotus Movement was still active, punitive actions by security forces had neutralised the threat to major urban areas. The Kraongnamese people now rose against the junta, believing the communist threat to be finished. The Saffron Uprising was an urban protest movement sparked by fuel prices which managed to topple the military regime. Civilian government returned, as did democracy. But the URLM were not allowed into elections, and instead used the chaos to regain a foothold. The civilian government again came under the influence of the military, this time ruling with an unofficial system of checks and balances.

In the modern day, Kraong Nam is a weak and divided state. The cities are split by infighting and power struggles between the civilian government and military, while communists contest the countrysides and vast jungles. Kraong Nam's economy is vastly underdeveloped, as the areas of greatest economic importance are the areas most under threat from insurgents. Infrastructure is moderate in larger urban areas, but severely lacking in rural areas and in any sort of motorway or rail system. Freedom of expression, press and assembly, the values upon which the Saffron Uprising was successful, are eroding as both the civilian and military elements of the government attempt to strengthen their position and stamp out the insurgent threat once and for all. This crackdown has begun to isolate Kraong Nam from its traditional partners, who fear a return to authoritarian rule. The Flower King, Inrasara IV, is an old and impotent figurehead.

Please provide a writing sample (recommended types: roleplay post, wiki article or news article). Nunalik and Sharaf should give enough

IN YOUR OPINION...
For this section, please answer the question from your honest and critical perspective.

...what role will your nation play in Esquarium?: It will provide a flashpoint for East Borean relations and between the EC and Communist blocs.
...what are the strengths of your nation?: Economic potential, plus the fertility of its land and widespread agriculture mean it can feed itself.
...what are the weaknesses of your nation?: Political divides, insurgencies, weak economy, low development, slowly becoming isolated economically, weak national unity
...in what ways could your nation be viewed as "overpowered"?: Its basically that white girl on the couch, if she was fighting a war with herself. Can't really see it being overpowered.

Please describe your nation. Kresomysliskaya is a modern-day Tsarist autocracy which is still decentralized via feudal states. Due to the decentralized nature of the "state", the feudal lords compete over the vast and untapped resources that the country has. Due to the dynastic heritage and nepotistic based system of the nation, it resulted in high economic inequality between the feudal lords and the serfs. The decentralized nature of the "state" also goes as far to the nation's military, of which the closest thing would be the private armies of the Tsar and the feudal lords.

BASIC INFORMATION
This is a request for: [ ] Territorial expansion | [x] Population expansion | [x] GDP expansion decrease | [ ] Nuclear weapons
Describe the requested increase in detail: Increase of the Namerian population to 119 milliones, decrease GDP per capita to 9,000
New map claim (image URL, skip if N/A):

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Why is this stat increase necessary? I have not formally updated the population since the original Nymandia application of 54 million. The country has undergone numerous changes, most notable a change from developed tertiary economy to developing primary economy, hence the GDP change from 34,000 to 9,000. This puts Nameria closer statistically to its primary inspiration, Mexico, which has 129 million people at 8,900 usd per capita. Nameria's large and not at all barren territory makes the small orginal population highly unrealistic and not in conformity with what I want Nameria to be, a relatively densely populated developing country.
What impact will this increase have on your IC nation's strength? It will establish an expanded workforce to better enhance the theme of cheap labor and overflowing housing in Nameria.
How will this stat increase contribute to your roleplaying and worldbuilding? It mostly affects worldbuilding, just making the Namerian territory and economic/social conditions more plausible statistically speaking.

CRITICAL DISCUSSION
List at least two other ways that the desired IC benefit can be achieved: The change is adjusting statistics to fit all the other aspects of Namerian lore, including its long established territory, and the climate of the region. As stated, lots of changes have been applied to Namerian lore and conditions which have not been reflected in the official record, this application is to bring the offically approved stats for Nameria in line with the rest of Namerian worldbuilding. Barring a change of statistics for a higher population and lower gdp/development level, much more extreme changes would need to be made to the country in order to bring it back into cohesion, including territorial changes and a rewrite of everything that has been done since Nymandia was moved to its new location by Sjea and was subsequently changed to Nameria.
Critically discuss how will this stat increase may affect other nations or regional geopolitics: It might put Nameria in a better position to reasonably oppose the local forces of the EC, which is a plotline I've been tinkering with in an effort to involved Nameria more in regional politics and rouse Conitia into more IC activity.
How have you contributed towards furthering the roleplaying and worldbuilding community of the region during your presence so far? I've participated in the roleplaying and worldbuilding of the Mazaristan conflict, but specifically in terms of Nameria I've coordinated or attempted to coordinate historical worldbuilding with most or all of my neighbors to integrate their histories to mine, participate in regional conflicts such as the proposed Conitian war and its close links to the Namerian civil war. Aside from changing the stats so they make more sense and make Nameria more realistic, the change is also to make Nameria more able to instigate and react to regional happenings and in so doing better participate in the roleplay side of things.

I acknowledge that any acceptance is conditional on the increase having productive roleplaying utility to the region as a whole, and that it may be rescinded at any time if it becomes derelict or conducive towards powergaming.

Population and GDP Request

Postby Isathyr » Fri Feb 01, 2019 6:13 pm

BASIC INFORMATION
This is a request for: [ ] Territorial expansion | [X] Population expansion | [ X] GDP expansion | [ ] Nuclear weapons
Describe the requested increase in detail:: A modification from the current 25 million to 35.5~ million in Aurega, GDP/capita from 39,9k to 47.6k in Aurega. Population estimation was determined by making a density map, with canadian density as a guideline, adapted to Auregan geographical situations.

Density map used:
Image

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Why is this stat increase necessary? To better adjust for the environmental conditions and adjust the country's statistics to the way I intend on developing Aurega geopolitically, as a non-major, yet recognizable mediator in east nordania with influence in regional affairs
What impact will this increase have on your IC nation's strength? It will increase Aurega's regional influence, making its local representativity in east nordanian affairs more reasonable, as well as fitting its economic characteristics better, as Aurega has an economy of fair complexity and development.
How will this stat increase contribute to your roleplaying and worldbuilding? This increase in Aurega's population and economic capacity will further solidify the historical presence it has had in nordania, being a major participant in the GWOTN and Continental War, with a historical presence in Cradebetia and cooperation with various countries across the central Ocean. As well as that, it will make the flashpoint situation in Cradebetia post CW more viable to write as a situation not as minor in relevancy as before.

CRITICAL DISCUSSION
List at least two other ways that the desired IC benefit can be achieved: Complicated to say, as both main stats are impossible to change in character and these statistics are intrinsic to the effects desired
Critically discuss how will this stat increase may affect other nations or regional geopolitics: It may weaken other nations in east nordania / north Conitia relatively to Aurega, and possibly induce a power creep if other nations decide to follow. Geopolitics wise however, it should not affect things severely, as Aurega already holds some degree of influence in the Nordanian League that wouldn't change severely with this due to the largely multipolar nature of the organization.
How have you contributed towards furthering the roleplaying and worldbuilding community of the region during your presence so far? I have tried consistently to develop East nordanian content and contribute in nordanian lore development both in wiki articles when possible, such as the east front of the GWOTN, but also in map making and current affairs such as the nordanian league and space agency.

I acknowledge that any acceptance is conditional on the increase having productive roleplaying utility to the region as a whole, and that it may be rescinded at any time if it becomes derelict or conducive towards powergaming.

Major resources: Gold, Sulfur, Zinc, Unique Elements and Metal, Minerals, etc. Lots of resources have become progressively exhausted.
Major imports: Manufacturing machines, Oil, Specialized Steel, Technological Equipment
Military personnel: Disputed - Senhai does not maintain a military but Xiaodong occupies it military wise and can be used by Senhai as long as it aligns with Xiaodongese views.
Types of equipment and military capabilities: Senhai is attempting to build a military and is progressively moving towards independence from Xiaodongese Influence.
Foreign policy stance (e.g. non-interventionist): Senhai tries to take a neutral stance towards every nation, and does not intervene except diplomatically. However because of the relation that Senhai has with Xiaodong, Senhai has uneasy relations with Xiaodong, bad relations with most of its neighbors and Tuthina and terrible relations with Senria.

LONG-ANSWER QUESTIONS
For this section, please provide at least a paragraph for each. You may provide a link to a previous piece of writing in lieu of a writing sample.

Please describe your nation.

The Great Republic of Sanhai is a sovereign country located in East Borea bordering the Auspicious Republic of Xiaodong. The Great Republic of Sanhai operates its government on the basis of a Sanhai Republic and is led by the President, Chén Shuòzhēn. The government in its operation is a Unitary semi-presidential constitutional republic, with National Committee acting as the bicameral legislative branch, called the Qìngguó Wěiyuánhuì (庆国委员会). The judiciary branch is known as the National Judiciary, Guójiā Sīfǎ Jīgòu (国家司法机构). The nation is made up of several different ethnicities, most of which are not paid any attention to except the Shénzhōu, an extinct group of Xiaodongese-Sanhai people after their participation and emancipation with the Nóngrén Rebellion.

The Great Republic of Sanhai has always struggled in its internal affairs, especially with Xiaodong. Sanhai in its current form is considered by certain foreign analysts as a puppet state of the Auspicious Republic of Xiaodong, while others say that the internal Sanhai government struggles to maintain its independence from Xiaodong influence. Sanhai borders Xiaodong and ever since the Nóngrén Rebellion and the genocide of the Shénzhōu, Sanhai has gone through many different iterations, which included the eventual ascension of a Xiaodongese nobleman to the throne on two separate occasions between the split in Sanhai power.

A Sanhai Republic, known otherwise as a Qinguo Republic is considered the product of Xiàng-Yánpéi Philosophy, which combined several different tenants of National Principlism into government without an incorporation of the entirety of the philosophy into the government. Government structure and operations remain mostly unaffected except with the position of President, and economic policies and foreign affair policies are affected by National Principlism, using a command centralized economy. However Collectivist values that are enshrined by National Principlism as well as Totalitarian values are often rejected, and Xiàng-Yánpéi Philosophy ignores these values. Because Sanhai is not apart of Xiaodong and has never been considered as apart of the state of Xiaodong, and rather as apart of the culture, The topic of Zàishēng has been touchy and Xiàng-Yánpéi Philosophy did not touch upon those values.

Today the Sanhai Republic has struggled with maintaining its independence from Xiaodongese influence in its internal affairs, and has been faced with the ever increasingly unpopular Xiàng-Yánpéi Philosophy with a new generation of philosophers and different, more liberal philosophies on government have become more and more popular among people.

BASIC INFORMATION
This is a request for: [ ] Territorial expansion | [ ] Population expansion | [X] GDP expansion | [ ] Nuclear weapons
Describe the requested increase in detail: Zesmynia's GDP is increased to $42,400 and Razaria's GDP is increased to $18,700 (purchasing power parity) - Zesmynia is being redefined as a highly developed post-industrial services-based economy comparable with Japan, while Razaria's (economic) isolationism is being toned down and it has also benefited from its range of allies.

Please note that this is a part of making West Borea more developed in general, and the changes to the nations I control will be placed, and should be viewed, in such a context - i.e., this being applied to a whole region and not two nations. Discussions have been made with other players in the area who would make their own changes correspondingly.
New map claim (image URL, skip if N/A):

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Why is this stat increase necessary? West Borea's situation seems unrealistic with Luziyca being a first-world economy but the rest of the continent save for Aucuria being a copypaste of eastern Europe IRL (and an inaccurate stereotype at that). As West Borea is where the industrial revolution emerged (in Luziyca) thanks to the transition to managerial enterprises and need for efficient production in smaller estates following the government-supported destruction of sualny, it would make sense that the nations of this area have a head-start with regards to their position in the world economy, and it is unlikely that the industrial warfare of the 20th century in current canon will be able to set them back that much. Zesmynia in particular benefits from a Luziycan-supported reconstruction post-war to defend against socialism which would be analogous to German or Japanese recovery processes. In addition to this I redefine Zesmynia as the storyline currently ongoing in it (IT-related intrigue) requires the setting be a rather computerized/information technology heavy economy.

Although Zesmynia's increase quadruples its GDP, this is mostly to make it on par with RL references (Japan and France in mind in particular), and also a more realistic parity with other developed Esquarian countries. However, average living standards aren't as close and the generally huge inequality compensates for the high aggregate value. Razaria's raise is mainly to be consistent with the environment and in West Borea itself it is still considered comparatively poorly developed.
What impact will this increase have on your IC nation's strength? Zesmynia (and rest of West Borea) will be significantly more developed and carry a greater weight in the world economy, in particular as major high-technology manufacturers.
How will this stat increase contribute to your roleplaying and worldbuilding? The aforementioned story is able to proceed realistically. Razaria would also be more interconnected and thus more affected by changes in the global economy, making for interesting interaction opportunities. The planned instability in Zesmynia would also offer a chance at creative responses (and also not a lot of room for powergaming). Generally, such a model of a first-world West Borea is intended to be high-productivity but also high-inequality, which offers more interest in development in exploring said disparities, as well as how such alternative forms of being 'modern' fare in general.

CRITICAL DISCUSSION
List at least two other ways that the desired IC benefit can be achieved: Can't think of any.
Critically discuss how will this stat increase may affect other nations or regional geopolitics: A new region of industrialized countries will emerge and these countries will occupy a greater role in international economics, and serve as a significant competitor to hubs in other places. In the near future, an unstable Zesmynia may cause tremors in the world economy when the situation there deterioriates. West Borea will be generally considered more relevant. There is also greater global relevance of Cositene culture considered on far higher grounds.
How have you contributed towards furthering the roleplaying and worldbuilding community of the region during your presence so far? Development of two religions and West Borean history in general.

I acknowledge that any acceptance is conditional on the increase having productive roleplaying utility to the region as a whole, and that it may be rescinded at any time if it becomes derelict or conducive towards powergaming.

LONG-ANSWER QUESTIONS
For this section, please provide at least a paragraph for each. You may provide a link to a previous piece of writing in lieu of a writing sample.

Please describe your nation.

The Kingdom of Gillenor is a nation in Esquarium located in the continent of Nordania. It is on the eastern side of the continent, and bordered by Cradebetia, Vasturia, and Jorland and Lothican to the west, as well as Aurega to the east. It has a population of around 16,523,000 inhabitants and its capital city is Osserheim although larger cities include Palan, Oceanus, and Clockenstein.

Please provide a writing sample (recommended types: roleplay post, wiki article or news article).

"Gillenor and West Cedarbrook have always been strong allies, both have large Jewish populations and similar interests around the world. It is not surprising then that another state visit by the current President of West Cedarbrook has been organised so soon. The President, Issac Feld, will mostly be meeting with Prime Minister Amadeus Firedancer to discuss various topics such as trade, education exchange between the two countries, biotechnical research, technology, anti-money laundering measures and of course the current tensions between Dubrovka and North Daecon, something many people will be watching carefully. Gillenor and West Cedarbrook are considered the main allies against the Communists of Dubrovka and most probably will be working together on finding a solution to the current crisis." (Written in 2014, so hopefully I have improved since then!)

IN YOUR OPINION...
For this section, please answer the question from your honest and critical perspective.

...what role will your nation play in Esquarium?: Traditionally Gillenor has been an advocate of multilateral solutions and organisations, within Esquarium it would likely play this role.
...what are the strengths of your nation?: Gillenor's strength lies in its soft power potential, the Gillenorian technology sector is innovative and certainly a global competitor. Whilst not one of the largest energy producers in the region, Gillenor still provides a significant amount of LNG to the nations of the region.
...what are the weaknesses of your nation?: Gillenorian politics is massively fractured, the nation has multiple identities and cultures that see themselves as sovereign and in some cases campaign for independence. In this sense, the politics of Gillenor can occasionally be volatile and disunited.
...in what ways could your nation be viewed as "overpowered"?: I suppose the fact that we have a stable GINI coefficient and yet massive inequalities in terms of the different cultures of Gillenor and their relations to the central state.

OOC NOTES

Please describe your nation.
Lieseltania uses the Westminster system government, more like the Canadian version. However unlike the traditional Westminster where the monarch is largely just a rubber stamp for the Parliament. My monarch has executive power and wouldn't shy away from withholding consent to pass a law or taking military action to safeguard the realm. Albeit she seeks the Privy Council's advise before making an executive decision. Apart from that Lieseltania is kind of a conservative nation with some liberal ideas, I'd best describe it as centre-right leaning, in that the governing Lieseltanian National People’s Party (LNVP) are more focused on providing and supporting Lieseltanians than on foreigners. Geographically it looks like the Pacific NW coast.

History time: Lieseltania was formed around the 1740s when then Queen Henrietta I of Larsenburg and Minister-President Moltke started the 6 year Lieseltanian Unification War in which Larsenburg and allied states began reclaiming Lieseltanian lands under foreign rule and persuading other Lieseltania states into joining the Lieseltanian unified state. After the Kingdom of Larsenburg established the Kingdom of Lieseltania, Moltke now the Chancellor of Lieseltania began to centralise the Federal Government and further unite the states into a single entity through a shared culture, history and language as descendants of the Lieseltan tribe.

Due to it’s smaller military compared to Sjaeland and Ambrose. Lieseltania would seek to join the international organizations and military alliances in Nordania to protect its national sovereignty and to be apart of the greater Nordanian culture.

First approval. I would like to say that Volomeria being command economy would be on the poorer end but may in the future see its economy reapplied. The basic principle of the intent to increase the economies in the region is greatly appreciated.

The general idea is sound; however I have a few concerns
-Where does the 9% blacks come from?
-Maybe the population can be reduced? It's not a biggie, just more the regional powers don't have that big populations comparatively.
-Map claim can defo be reduced.

Lieseltanie wrote:Snip

Again I have no problem with the general concept which is sound - however a few concerns again
-Why the need for a green/limited blue water navy? Blue water naval capacity is incredibly rare (only used by great powers like the USA, France, UK, China and India) and green-naval capacity a mix of great powers (Russia, Japan, Italy) and traditional maritime powers (Chile, Indonesia, Spain). What are the reasons for Lieseltania having them?
-Maybe reduce the GDP per cap by a few thousand unless providing a good economic model which is lacking in the app.
-Possibly limit using anime characters for people unless absolutely necessary (Akai and Tuthina can get away with it for the simple fact they have very little rl equivalents who dress in the same attire, and even then are often custom portraits paid for by the users that specifically represent Akai/Tuthinian fashion)

BASIC INFORMATION
This is a request for: [ ] Territorial expansion | [ ] Population expansion | [x] GDP expansion | [ ] Nuclear weapons
Describe the requested increase in detail: Request to increase the GDP per capita of Xiaodong from PPP $8,685 to $17,535 (similar to Thailand) and nominal from $2,906 to $8,274 (similar to Bulgaria). This will increase the GDP PPP to $2,426,142 million (similar to Turkey) and the nominal value to $1,144,790 million (similar to Indonesia).
New map claim (image URL, skip if N/A):

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Why is this stat increase necessary? Xiaodong is in the lore established to be an industrialised nation during the 1800's. Now whilst I do not want Xiaodong to be like say Japan or the United States as a result of this the current figures I do not feel represent the industrialisation Xiaodong went through to make it a regional power and so believe that its economy needs to reflect a greater degree of industrialisation by uplifting it's general economic performance, fitting it neatly in the realms of rl newly industrialised countries.
What impact will this increase have on your IC nation's strength? It will make Xiaodong more strong economically. Its PPP GDP will be slightly higher than regional rival Senria, but lower than it in nominal terms.
How will this stat increase contribute to your roleplaying and worldbuilding? It will allow me to more concretely address Xiaodong's economic situation as it currently stands and as such reference it properly in RP's/newposts and economic development more generally.

CRITICAL DISCUSSION
List at least two other ways that the desired IC benefit can be achieved: The current wealth levels could've been the previous levels of the economy prior to the 2016 recession, albeit that will make that recession more serious than first envisioned. I could also compromise on a more limited increase.
Critically discuss how will this stat increase may affect other nations or regional geopolitics: As said it would place Xiaodong on more economic parity with Senria. It would also improve the IFDS's economic profile.
How have you contributed towards furthering the roleplaying and worldbuilding community of the region during your presence so far? I like to think I have in the past three-ish years significantly contributed to the worldbudiling and roleplaying in this region and helped improve lore especially in the Borean region.

I acknowledge that any acceptance is conditional on the increase having productive roleplaying utility to the region as a whole, and that it may be rescinded at any time if it becomes derelict or conducive towards powergaming.

So this is the thing that I was hoping to build more on later. Once properly in the region I would like to introduce a second state called 'Nylasia' which would be a significantly smaller country with a colonial history tied to Gillenor. The state is NOT a colonial puppet of Gillenor but a now post-colonial independent state engaged in a personal union (under the Gillenorian monarchy) with Gillenor. This would be a similar model to the UK and New Zealand. I was hoping to put Nylasia on the African-styled continent (Nautasia I believe? Apologies if I'm mistaken) which would mean its majority population would be black, and many may have migrated to Gillenor during and since colonial rule, thus the black percentage of the Gillenorian population. You are correct however that 9% is probably way too large a number, something like 2% would be more realistic maybe?

As for the other points, sure thing! What would be a sensible population, maybe 16-7 million? Border-wise I can try and play around with changing it, however the proposed borders are based on geographical topography that me and Aurega worked out in the Discord.

The Kingdom of Gillenor is a federal parliamentary monarchy. It's current governing party (Unionist Party) are centre-left.

nautasia is already merged with borea. this will be amended in the later map update (sinocracy please do it jesus). If you're down, nylasia could be like, an island somewhere. Kinda like the Andamans or Madagascar. we need an anchor for the African continent anyway

While that does sound awesome, the general consensus on the Discord from the others seems to be against colonies or former colonies (unless played by independent players); so the possibility of this seems unlikely.
