I have an answer, or sixty.

We're literally just starting out. I believe Meridia was launched last Tuesday, but we're growing, and it is the goal to become a thriving and active community.

Meridia is not a jealous girlfriend. If you want to go out and play with others, all the more power to you! Just don't forget about us, as like I said above, we wish to become a vibrant and active community.

Yes, the colony can be in addition to your starting 2, as colonies are not actually claims. During colonization, new players can claim the land themselves, leading to conflict. Natives you didn't see before, that type of thing, and now your little colony is surrounded by a nation.

The majority of our players so far are level 1 magic. I personally have half my population distrustful of magic. We have two fairly religious members. So yes, such a magic hating, religious puritan witch-pursuit-thingy society would fit right in.

Society: 7 [we are a hive mind, we are one and one are we. The one that speak is the one that commands.....we foraged the policy that none shall have free thought only shall those that live be having only the thought is of our fare leader Dremon]. In other words due to the peoples severe loyalty to the leader(s) they have all but given up almost all free will to be at the leader's command. (So yeh we're like the borg)
Technology: 6 [advances in technology has led to the expansion of higher metal work and the invention of rifles, and the aid of industrialization throughout the nation and along with the society being a hivemind technology spread quite easily] yes the fact that they are a hive mind gives the industrial sector of the empire's cities work more efficiently.
Economy: 4(2 from society,1 from tech)[The economic levels of the nation are quite neutral considering that trade happens at a mediocre rate of slow growth however it cannot grow due to the lack of real trade routes out side the nation] the lack of trade routes is due to the people beliving that they are the only intellegent life left.....

Magic: 0[since there had been no re-education of the ways of magic there are no reports of any magic users within the nation and thus no one can actually harness it] yes and due to people although have the magic within their blood never knew how to control it.
Area Claimed: on the continent of BREACA (19 [wolfwood], 16 [ wellspring],24 [west mistwood] ,25 [east mistwood], 29 [ western Lilac wood], 33 [Lilac Peninsula], 32 [ southern lilac wood]
Brief History: after the shadow dissapeared they immediately fled to this land to build up a fleet to pervent that time when they once again come. Since they remained on their home continent they belive that they are infact the last surviving emipre on the world that is led by the loney king Dremon and his ventures to the lands ahead in hopes that the thoughts of the past were wrong an that there is other life that survived the shadows.

(I'll give this a shot also ether 19 or 24 is the capital location am still deciding where though)

Fairies are, at first glance, not unlike elves at all: those who belong to both races are, after all, widely known for being incredibly beautiful and innately magical. However, while elves are creatures with very long life spans, fairies have very short life spans and, while elves do not procreate often, fairies are very fertile.

Fairies are bioluminescent and winged; they are also frail and short when compared to most other sentient species: on average, they are even more diminutive than gnomes and halflings, and it is very hard for a fairy to gain muscle mass, most fairies being rather thin.

Society: 2

The Confederacy of Cynosure is an alliance of rural cantons governed through direct democracy; the King is only a constitutional monarch, while the Queen is the head of the country's priestly class. Even though both figures are respected and revered, the individual clans and tribes are far more influential in the day to day running of the state.

Technology: 2

Because of the high level of complexity and sophistication reached by the magic of the fairies, the inhabitants of Cynosure never really felt the need to go beyond a Bronze Age level of technological development; their literary and visual arts might be the more advanced aspect of the local technology.

Economy: 5

Through their mastery of magic, the fairies of Cynosure have been able to create a prosperous society; the people do not know hunger and poverty, and they are able to alternate work for the community with pursuit of their own hobbies and interests.

Magic: 5

Almost every inhabitant of Cynosure has some kind of innate magical gift, with the members of the priestly class devoting their whole lives to the study of magic; those who lack any sort of magical ability are seen as disabled at best and pariahs at worst.

Area Claimed: Aleutian Islands

Brief History: The fairy race is a young one, being only a thousand years old; today's fairies are descended from the scattered remnants of the ancient race of the nymphs, divine spirits that were driven to near extinction by the Shadow.

Those nymphs that survived were experimented on by the Shadow, that seeked to create a slave race of magical creatures to do their bidding, glorified familiars for the witches of the dark. The sudden end of the Shadow gave the fairies the opportunity to revolt, after a thousand years of slavery, under the guidance of a oouple of siblings, the black mage Gnos the Just and the white mage Neviet the Wise.

The dark origins of fairy society made it devoted to hedonism and distrustful of authority, but the pastoral idyll of the Aleutian Islands may have a very dark side to it...

Also, just because I'm still a bit unsure: Do your people still have free will and choose to be this dedicated to the state/leader, or are they under some sort of mind control/drug induced control/et cetera?

NPC nations are not allowed. However, you can split your nation into two, if you RP it happening(government in exile, as an example), but must still start them off in one of your colonies or owned provinces. Their continued existence will be up to me, and should I see that you're using it just for powerplaying (i.e having multiple nations working towards the same goal rather than against each other), then they will be reverted to just your primary nation.

Depends on what type. I mean, if its a slow regeneration, like a faster than average healing, then sure. If it's an instant thing, then no. Same with the camouflage. If it's more a blend in with the environment thing, like a chameleon, sure. But if it's turning invisible, no.

Seems correct, but is lacking in scope, I'd say. I believe you'd have to progress the story a bit more before others can really join in, but I could be wrong. Perhaps someone will chance upon you first?

Hey, I'm a big fan of Dungeons and Dragons. I was just wondering if anyone has a way of having a sea civilization. Recently, I came across the Avenit from Stormwrack. They're basically amphibious humans. Is there a way I could play as them here?

I have been musing with how to accomplish this, but I can say that I certainly support having amphibious civilizations.

The way it may have to work is that they simply say where abouts they are, and I put a marker there, akin to nomadic civilizations.

When Aventalis sank below the waves, the empire collapsed. In fighting has caused the royal bloodline to lose control over their empire. This fighting resulted because the royal family were probably the worse of the aventi at the fall of their empire. Those who are now lords are the descendants of paladins who forced the royal family to surrender power to local lords, so that if the royals or Aventan itself ever grew too proud, the lords could rise up and defend their people from a second Drowning.

Technology: 5

Without their magic, the aventi have had to rely on technically to navigate the ocean. They have advanced star maps, ships for exploring (which is faster than swimming) and even have cannons for these ships. Of course, their guns are useless underwater, which has lead them to create amazingly complex siege weapons to defend their ancient undersea capital.

Economy: 3

Thanks to the collapse of the First Aventi Empire, Aventan has become reliant on other civilizations to have interest in whatever gifts the sea will give them.

Magic: 2.

Once an extremely powerful and magically inclined people, the aventi are now suffering from the inability to harness their god's magic. This has left them magically weakened.

Area Claimed: The Coral Island (for the Darfellen) and Aventalis (undersea capital)

Brief History: Once a great surface dwelling empire, the Aventi of old were noble and just people. However, as their society's power grew their greed began to consume them. They colonized large coastal cities and made war constantly with other races. Until their own god smote them. Averentus, God of Storm and Sea, destroyed the pillars of Aventalis, casting it into the sea in a fit of anger. Some of his people cried out to him for mercy, people of good heart and mind. Sorrowful for doing them harm, Averentus gifted the aventi with the power to breath in the water, saving his chosen people. Despite this, Averentus has not spoken with the clerics and priests of Aventan in many years. The powers of the aventi have died down without their god's presence. Since their empire collapsed, Aventan's economy has been struggling for awhile.


Note:

Is it possible to ever rank up a STEM category? I wanted the Aventi to be mages but realized that I needed a high tech level to have an understanding of the sea. Afterall, I'm a sea based nation. If possible, over roleplaying, I'd like to slowly redeem the Aventi and raise their magic level slowly.
