Been looking through a little, not seen anyone go into detail about Elves yet. If someone has, can it be quoted please? Will send an app, but dependent on the condition at the start of Brief History.

All races existed before the Shadow, unless specifically mentioned otherwise. A good example would be the Marhumans, who are a genetic experiment of the Shadow, which altered humans to be more aquatic.Ralnis wrote:Any ICs that I can join or create with someone?
You're aloud to join any current IC thread, unless the owners have said it's closed(none currently are.) All I ask is that you have a plausible reason to join, even if it means acting as a singular adventurer or group rather than as a national body. But truly, join anything. Or, create your own. If you haven't any ideas for a full RP, perhaps make a submission in the Omnibus, and let us know what's happening in your nation.Joushiki Nante Iranai wrote:Been looking through a little, not seen anyone go into detail about Elves yet. Elves are elves. Take the generic elf from any mainstream fantasy, and you have it. If that doesn't suit your needs, create a variant of elf. Give it a different name, and make it whatever you want to. This might be best for what you want to do, since you want some elves to be changed humans. Nu-elves, perhaps? Whatever you'd like...just not generic elf.

As Dwipantara? Discrimination, that's one. Make fun of an orc and goblins, humans, elves and other races will hate you too, not just orcs. There's also the issue with women who prefer work over family, and women who use swear words. Oh and never, ever, mock a dead person in his/her house.

Since you appear to be settled on the continent analogous to North America, why not borrow the name of a Native American tribe and twist it a bit? Shoshone could become Shoddoh or Shoné. Nansemond become Nademoh. Powhatan become Póhudda. Plenty of opportunities there.
On the other hand, since your people seem pretty self-aware of the change the Shadow wrought on them, a name that references this fact might be an idea? 'Weaved Men', i.e. 'Men weaved by the Shadow's choosing'? Or just 'Lytaari' as a shout-out to your nation's name?

I'm not American, but 'Weaved Men' sounds good. I'll edit it slightly.

Hm. So Dwipantara value their kin, seems like. Clan, blood and family is important - as is respecting the honor of strangers. Interesting. Yet they hold against their women for cussing or not staying to the house. Am I sensing a patriarchal society here?
As a change of subject, what are Dwipantara burial practices like?

Society: 3 - Composed of a series of cities known as 'Hiron' (plural is 'Hirona'), each functions almost completely independently of each other (almost like separate nations) and each house (aka 'tislan', plural 'tislana') is within a large tree (think redwood but slightly smaller and 4-5 times wider). Matriarchal society. Each province is an alliance of city-states.

Magic: 5 - Magic is almost a necessity, and non-magics are frowned upon. Some extreme Entwined kill non-magics at birth.
Area Claimed: Inland, unclaimed, temperate forest in Noreia.
Brief History:
Originally, the Entwined People were humans. That was before the Shadow. They were tortured, experimented on, given drugs, as well as given more... spiritual treatment. Rumour had it the Shadow wanted to create a perfect species. Every time was different, until the first Entwined was... "created". It was around 350 years into the darkness. 9 more were "created" in succession before the methods suddenly changed again. All of the First Ten were female, according to lore, and this has never been questioned (You can probably understand what I'm trying to say without being too explicit). The ten Entwined, traumatised, were shunned by the humans, and came together to form the first village, which they named "Hiron" - which became the first word of the Entwined language.
Centuries later, the legacy of the First Ten had been continued, and the Entwined People had their own language, culture, and so on. While the Shadow had ignored them initially (as the Entwined People were the results of their own experiments), however, they started taking Entwined as slaves, or to be tortured or experimented on - never to be seen again. Division and distrust grew, and then the Shadow launched a giant offensive. Hiron was ruined, the Entwined People were scattered, and many were captured. Those that escaped formed new settlements, but those that grew too large were attacked by the Shadow yet again. The settlements became towns, and when the Shadow disappeared, they grew even further into rivalling city states. Today, the cities are operating under fragile alliances, attempting to put back together a fractured civilisation.

The only issue I have is that I require you to list the numbers of the land you wish claimed. Noreia - #, is the preferred format.

Just realised that Noreia - 15 applies as well (except for the temperate forest part, but taiga's still forest - oops). Sorry! Edited the application.
