I believe that the Progressives are standing their own candidate, or has Shannon McDougall thrown in the towel and bought a white flag from the nearest branch of Sainsbury's?

Sorry for your headache :( . Right now Colunberra seem's to be going through a politcal reform as it switches from a leftist government to a right leaning. However Colunberra will keep its left wing policies for the time being. Just for a comparison the US has a left and right party however they tend to lean towards more of a right wing government in all, Colunberra on the other hand leans to the left just depends how right you can get.

Now talking how Colunberra still can govern in a snap election is that in the constitution it says that during an emergency like this one the governing party may still hold power though the Progressive party is looking to ban resignations and only let the representatives send an appeal form

Colunberran National News Update
Hello there, and welcome to ColunberraVotes. Today the polls flipped back to the CDP and it's coalition garnering 7 district seats in total, with the Progresives securing 4 district seats. Even though the CDP coalition is in the lead, a flip could happen and very well change the course of the election. Until next time, I'm Mikél Daviś and this is ColunberraVotes.

Breaking News: Shannon McDougall Found!
It is now apparent that Shannon McDougall was in Birchview last night.... However we don't know where she has been. Shannon has claimed to be taking a break from campaigning. Though suspicious footage has been captured at the Nightangle Cafe, where Shannon meets up with a masked man....This is Marcel Baud reporting at the Nightangle Cafe in Birchview. Shannon is planning to make a speech on Thursday morning.

Elections Are to be Held Longer
This election voter turnout was about 78%, well below the average 92%. The National Logistics Commision suggests that a snap election like this was most likely a cause for such a turnout. Elections are extended until March 2nd 2018. If that cannot finalize the outcome, a confidence vote will be held for Andrea Deleware and her coalition.
