Background Information
The IBT-63A1 is the export version of the domestically produced Vymarian IBT-63. The IBT-63A1 has been adjusted to have better mobility and range in exchange for slightly less superior armament and armor. Despite this, the IBT-63A1 has proved a tank of equal merit to the original IBT-63 in the right hands in Vymarian testing facilities. When being developed, the needs of all nations were factored in, and Vymar realizes that not all nations are fond of a gun larger than 120mm. The IBT-63A1 can not only serve as an amazing Main Battle Tank, but it can also be sent into battle without the worry of huge costs due to high fuel consumption. Mobility
The Nationalized Company known as Votor Engineering was left up to manufacture the new design's engine. In order to fit the targeted 1400 horsepower engine, VE created three different variants of the new engine : VEM-3, VEM-100 and the VEM-250. All three were tried on the final weight and tested for the following attributes separately, Combustibility, Top Speed and Fuel Consumption. The VEM-3 was able to reach the highest top speed, with an average rate of fuel consumption in the testing fields. However, the VEM-3 also tended to cut out when over worked, and tended to overheat constantly. And when hit by a projectile, would usually burst into flames. The VEM-100 had perhaps the best Fuel Consumption, but failed to achieve in areas such as top speed and still managed to be highly vulnerable to bursting into flames. The VEM-250 however, managed to succeed in all areas besides Top Speed.
In the end, the VEM-250 was chosen due to its versatility, despite its lacking in speed. Throughout its usage, the VEM-250 has only been victim to over heating in scorching conditions, but not over-heating up to the point of severe damage. VE Suggests all VEM-250 engines kept under close watch when under scorching conditions reaching above 110 Degree Fahrenheit.
Armament
The Z-2 Manual-Loading Smoothbore gun is a high velocity powerhouse. The gun was built to be able to contest with any type of armor any nation would find on the field. With a comfortable loading mechanism and large turret space, the gunner has as much room as he needs to load a round, then quickly switch to his Fire Control System. During its development, the Z-2 Gun was developed with the following in mind: Reload time, accuracy, range and power. The gun can send 120mm shells down range at a blistering 1850 meters a second, not only increasing average penetration power, but establishing quick travel time. While the gun may shoot at a fast velocity, its range and accuracy does not disappoint in the slightest. Being able to hit targets reliably at a 75% hit rate at ranges of up to 9000 meters and 100% within 5000 meters. Not only this allow fast long range engagements, but the ability to strike targets that may not even be aware of the Tank's presence.
Electronics
The "Instigator" deploys some of the most advanced technology Vymar has to offer. Its RXV-10 Communications System allows for Tank Commanders to "Lase" enemy targets to be marked for destruction, whether by Tank round, or airstrike. It also allows for friendly infantry who hold systems capable of lasing to "Lase" enemy targets for neutralization as well. The RXV-10 can laze up to 20 separate lases at a time between a tank squadron of 4. Once lases are set, the gunner is shown the lases digitally in his Digital sight, which allows for a maximum of 12x zoom. Lases can be deleted by a commander, or a gunner with the use of a manual laser override. In the case where a friendly vehicle accidentally lases a friendly tank, warnings will be sent to the friendly tank as to avoid friendly fire. The communications systems also allow for crisp and clear audio, even allowing for easy communication in horrible storms when miles apart.
Along with top of the line night vision, the VEMFC-5 Fire Control System when implemented also saw a significant accuracy increase over its manual aiming counterparts. Sensors on around the Tank allows for the extraction of environmental data. Allowing for accuracy in even the worst of conditions. In the rare and unfortunate case where the gunner is knocked out, the commander may take a manual override of the tank's weapon systems.
Armor and Protective Systems
The IBT-63A1 is as protective as protective can get when it comes to non-active protective armor. Composed of 5 separate layers, the IBT-63A1 has been built to take on even the strongest of incoming projectiles. The first layer is comprised of small, but effective ERA packs, meant to defeat HEAT rounds before they even come in contact with the armor. Placed at its hull and turret, the ERA will allow the tank to take on many anti-tank rounds before they even strike the tank. The second layer is comprised of 3 layers of a spaced Steel Composite mesh. The spaced armor allows for the incoming shell to break apart as it penetrates into the tank. Allowing for minimal damage to actually occur. While the 3rd line of defense is perhaps the strongest of them all when it comes to stopping kinetic charges. Steel Composite metals and plastics are meshed together, allowing for an incredibly dense, light and protective shield against enemy projectiles. Having a high multi-hit capacity, it allows for the IBT-63A1 to operate in even the bloodiest of battles. If in the rare case that a Kinetic Charge penetrates the 3rd level, The 4th level contains Glass and Ceramic tiles, in which the Kinetic charge smashes into it, forcing the projectile to disintegrate, as it continues to breach into the tank. Finally, the fifth line of defense is a fiber glass and kevlar spall liner. Catching any and all fragments left of the projectiles.
