In the Proletarian Republic, comrades (comrades being ex-proletarians, those that were bourgeois cannot do the following and are barred from gun ownership) may own and are even encouraged to own guns. Fully automatic weapons are not allowed for civilian use, neither are weapons such as RPGs or bombs. Any comrade can own a handgun or an assault rifle.

Under Law Citizens are allowed to carry guns with express permission from the police and gun registration commission there are three classifications of firearms:

Class 1: Small arms = Revolvers, Pistols
Class 2: Shotguns = Non Assault, Single, Double barrel
Class 3: Rifles = Non Assault, Hunting ONLY

Citizens must also have a valid reason for owning a firearm.

Generally, it is fairly easy to acquire long guns and shotguns, somewhat harder to acquire handguns of any kind, difficult to own semi-automatic rifles, and downright illegal to own fully automatic rifles. However, these laws have been relaxed in terms of enforcement for many loyal subjects of King Lucian I, due to the recent invasion of Gavinium Magnus by the regional coalition seeking to topple him and his sister-wife Queen Denise I from their throne, the Throne of Light. He has created a youth militia, the Royal Youth Militia, whose members have greater freedom to acquire both automatic and semiautomatic rifles, machine guns, and submachine guns.

Firearms and their components are legally divided into Two categories: Unrestricted and Restricted

Unrestricted:

All firearms and firearms components with the exception of those listed as controlled.

These firearms may not be sold to or possessed by individuals under the age of 18 or those who have been deemed unfit to own firearms by court order.

Restricted: All cartridge firearms with a barrel shorter than 500 mm. All automatic firearms. All firearms components designed to aid shooters in firing their weapons rapidly by use of recoil energy or a hand crank. All Pump-action, lever action and semi-automatic firearms, designed after the year 1950, that accept detachable magazines or have a fixed magazine that is designed to hold more than 10 centrefire cartridges. All firearms disguised as other objects. All projectiles containing toxic fluids, toxic gases or explosives. All firearms fed by a cartridge belt. Detachable magazines designed after the year 1950 that fit in Pump-action, lever action and semi-automatic firearms designed before the year 1950. Firearms with a barrel diameter greater than 20 mm.

These firearms may not be sold to or possessed by individuals unless they are fit to own Unrestricted firearms and have obtained a restricted firearm waiver. To obtain a restricted firearm waiver an individual must prove they have a genuine need for a Restricted firearm. Said individual must also demonstrate why unrestricted firearms would not be suitable for the intended purpose and why the restricted firearm is suitable. These firearms must be registered and kept locked in a secure container when not in approved use. Each waiver only applies to a single firearm, is valid for 2 years at a time and will not be renewed if the genuine need is no longer present.

A "genuine need" can include:

Restricted firearms of particular value due to their age, rarity, unconventional design or role in important historical events as determined by an official museum curator.

Restricted firearms necessary for use in a particular shooting sport that is internationally recognised and practiced.

Restricted firearms necessary for those employed in security and pest control.

Restricted firearms necessary for those at genuine risk of being attacked with lethal force by wildlife or people.

Actually, the citizens bear arms, for free, if they finish their compulsory military service. The "ceremonial" firearm is hanged on a wall in a frame, and can be used when an intruder pass in. In case of recollection of troops, a secret closet is in every apartment room, and contains their military gear during they served in the military.

All citizens are allowed to bear arms with the only restriction being what they can get their hands on/afford. Arms in this case is usually not firearms due to the aforementioned limiting factor; firearms are expensive and not easily acquired. Most citizens own an axe or spear; swords are not uncommon either.

Most firearms are owned by the wealthy elite, who will often own multiple firearms. There are no restrictions, but most commonly owned firearms include pistols, muskets, and blunderbuss.

It is worth noting that the most advanced firearms we have are flintlocks...

The Federal Military Empire of The Scarlet Eagle encourages greatly young people who finished their compulsory military service of 3 years to keep the M8A1 assault rifle and USP 45 pistol they received during their service.
Basically, our citizens can own handguns, shotguns, assault rifles in Semi automatic, and in full automatic on the condition they provide a clear judiciary record and a medical certificate attesting of their sanity.

Though much has changed in Dagnia over the past few hundred years, the right to bear arms has always had an almost sacred status. Nearly all guns and gun attachments are perfectly legal and require no license to own. Some prefectures may require a background check or basic psychiatric evaluation. Rare exceptions include weapons obviously designed to do destruction outside the primary target, like grenade and rocket launchers. Mass shootings are non-existent because we don't pump our kids full of dangerous drugs when they don't fit the mold their school would like them to and in the rare instance someone actually is nuts enough to do that sort of thing, our police and security services are competent enough to get the message someone is a serious danger before anything happens.

With training and a background check, almost any weapon is available. However, to own automatic rifles and other similar weapons, extra scrutiny and certification is required.

Pistols are very common. Because not many citizens hunt like in the US, most gun owners carry pistols. Even the King carries a small pistol when travelling without his guards. However, anyone carrying a gun has also been trained in conflict resolution.

All nonviolent, mentally sound citizens can carry almost any weapon, within reason. However, background checks, good mental health services, a stringent certification process, and social services all keep the number of shootings down.

There are four classes of firearms in the People's Republic of Shefkland; mandatory, unrestricted, restricted, and illegal.

The mandatory firearm is the SKS Carbine. All citizens over 18 who are not in higher education are potential soldiers in the event of existential threat to the People's Republic. As such, they are required to have an SKS unless they are barred from possessing firearms; such as due to an indictable offense conviction, being on a subversive watchlist, having been investigated for domestic violence, or being of bourgeois class background.

Unrestricted firearms include revolvers and non-automatic long guns with less than 11 round magazines. Restricted firearms include long guns with higher capacity magazines and semiautomatic pistols. Restricted firearms cannot be carried in public, cannot be transported across provinces without a permit, and require an extensive background check. Illegal firearms include weapons that fire explosive or incendiary projectiles, firearms mounted on vehicles, antitank or antimateriel firearms, guided weapons, fully automatic firearms, and chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons

Atlanteans cannot own the following:
- Nuclear, biological, chemical and radiation weapons*
- Land mines
- Spike pits*
- Cluster bombs*
- Balloon bombs*
- Cruise missiles
- Ballistic missiles

*Includes the military

Restrictions on civilian weapons are:
- Combat vehicles, tanks and warships must have their armaments either disabled or removed.
- Warplanes must either have their guns disabled or removed, and other armaments are to either be removed or replaced with dummies.
- Rounds of 84 mm calibre and higher must be blank rounds. Rockets (provided they are from shoulder-mounted rocket weapons or similar) are exempt from this.

Otherwise, they can own anything.

Uses certain NS stats.

Atlantis is an MT nation that is the third richest country in the world, behind only China and the United States. It is closer to the USA, UK, Italy and Spain (in that order, though Italy and Spain is probably tied) culturally than it is Greece. It is also a naval power.

And no, Atlantis is not underwater: It has a land area around the size of France.

Pros: Classical liberalism, democracy, the West, Brexit, Viktor Orban, free education, strong military
Cons: Authoritarianism, fascism, communism, multiculturalism, Islamism
