"I believe its existence is justified, given the horrors experienced by its people in their former homeland. However, I have little data on the nation itself other than that of the leader and military."

"His ruthlessness and lack of emotion makes me both wary of him and sorry for him... on the whole, however, he seems to be a dedicated man I can respect. He understands the importance of defending his nation, but knows that the military must not consume the nation, something evidenced by his focus on education."

"Ahm... no comment. I'd rather not think about that, honestly. Maybe I could provide some divine intervention, but I lack access to my true powers as of writing."

"Sitka is not yet electrified, and likely won't be in the foreseeable future. Steam power is used for industrial applications and anywhere else it is needed."

"I'd like to think so. I suppose one thing that sets us apart is our unity despite our lack of one central culture. We have always had a reputation as a haven for the oppressed, something that even endured under Russian rule. The kitsune shipbuilders in one of our cities are known for making clipper ships that can outpace some steamers. We are the first nation with a government inspired by the works of Karl Marx, though we don't exactly follow his ideas to the letter. We are perhaps the nearest example of direct democracy on our Earth. Female leaders are rare in our world, vampiric ones nearly unheard of; as a result, when I was elected Sitka became the first nation with a female vampire as head of state.
So yes, I suppose we are significant in some respects. Failing that, we are certainly unique, and that is enough for me."
