What is Radiatia?

The Radiatian Federation (informally known as "Radiatia") is a federation consisting of 37 states and republics, each with their own culture, history and in many cases their own language.

It is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual Federal Presidential Republic with a population of over 230 million people.

The Radiatian Federation is the successor state to the Radiatian People's Socialist Union, a brutal communist regime that was overthrown over 40 years ago.

Radiatia is a land of contrast and glaring contradictions! It is a land of scorching deserts and arctic wastelands, of crowded cities and pristine wilderness, extreme wealth and extreme poverty and a country that is simultaneously famous and mysterious.

To whom it may concern amongst the Radiatian government,

I have sustained great interest upon the Radiatian Federation for its... interesting culture, ever since Radiatian Airlines has recently provided me flights across the nations of the world.

Firstly, those flights were of excellent quality, and I will most certainly be sure to recommend them to other leaders of the multiverse world. Secondly, I have noted that most of your nation seems to despise forms of socialism and communism. Please let it be known that Aztlanta, in all its glory, does NOT wish to expand our system of socialism across the rest of the world, as we are well aware that such happenings would be met with disastrous results. Despite our differences, I believe that the two of our nations have the potential to become great friends.

With that out of the way, I have retained several questions about your fine country which have aroused my curiosity:

- Will your people still hate us after this statement?
- What is the current state of Radiatia's environment, and is the national animal extant or extinct?
- How polluted is the air?
- Does your country have any iconic vehicle models? If so, which?

These were the only ones I could think of at the moment, so I suspect that additional ones will arise soon.

Thank you for your enquiry. Please allow us to answer your questions in order.

Will your people still hate us after this statement?

The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all other federal government departments cannot and will not be held responsible for the opinions of individual Radiatians or Radiatian corporations.

The Autenberg Administration does not oppose socialism, and President Autenberg himself self-identifies as a democratic socialist.

Many individual Radiatians may however have strong anti-socialist feelings stemming from their experiences under Radiatia's former communist regime.

The Radiatian Federation welcomes friendship and closer co-operation with Aztlantan Federation.

What is the current state of Radiatia's environment, and is the national animal extant or extinct?

The Radiatian Federation is very proud of its environmental record, having done more to contribute to carbon emissions and climate change than almost any other nation! Remember a warmer globe means warmer winters for you and your family, and many currently landlocked areas will be able to experience living by the seaside!

The national animal is the Yak, which is in plentiful supply in farms up and down the federation. It is used to make everything from clothing to meat (such as used in popular fast food chain "Kerpruss Fried Yak" and to make the (in)famous delicacy Yakkum.

How polluted is the air?

This really depends on your location. Wilderness areas boast extremely clean air (which is not recommended as breathing air you can't see can't possibly be safe) while cities boast the usual amounts of smog, requiring the use of gasmasks. Midgard City, Midgard tends to have the worst air quality owing to the large number of factories and the topography of the area.

The air quality index for Exegrad, Alayenia (our largest city) is frequently posted and updated on the social network CONFERO.

Does your country have any iconic vehicle models? If so, which?

Yes, there are several. The Growler is probably best known.
