We have an uncodified constitutional system, though it may have some elements that are closer to that of a codified system. There is a primary document, the Basic Law of South Zimenma, and this document is routinely amended via popular referendum. However, the highest law of the land consists entirely of rulings and decisions made by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal, which is both a court for political crimes as well as a constitutional court. Case law set forth by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal trumps all other legal instruments.

The only thing even remotely related to this is the Quran here in the Empire. The Sultan and Caliph rules, without any interference.

Alinghi Federal-Costitution was aproved in the year 2006, two year after the Republican Democratic Revolution. The Costitution is a rigid constitution, this mean that there are a more difficult process to modify the Constitution.
From this date where was a lot of modification, expecially in the section what describe the function of the state. The first change happen only two year of approvation of the Constitution, in 2008 makes the Republic a federal republic. In the 2010 a second relevant change in the costitution makes the republic a presidential republic, that indicate the death of the first republic and the born of the second republic.
In the year 2055 there are a third relevant constitutional reform, that make Alinghi a semi-presidential republic, giving birth the third republic.
Other minimum changes occures, in 2044 the homosexual marriage became a Constitutional right (before was recognized since 2013 but it not was expressely written in constitution), in 2050 where was the ban of life imprisonment, making the maximum sentence possible at 25 years of imprisonment.

Our Constitution is called the "Royal Charter", and it is extensive and very long. Basically, in 1972, our founders sat down and asked themselves, "How can we create a government that does the most good, but also will never violate our citizens' rights?" The result was the Royal Charter. It spelled out the different parts of government (the King (or Queen, we accept either gender for a leader), the Senate, the Royal Court, the Royal Cabinet, and the local governments), while also spelling out all of the citizens' rights (think US Bill of Rights on steroids). The result was a very powerful King and Senate, but an even stronger Bill of Rights and a Royal Court to enforce it. Basically, the King/Senate have absolute power to help the people, but are completely barred from participating in any type of tyranny or oppression.

The Federation of Lillorainen has a fully codified Federal Constitution. Additionally, each of the nine constituent republics has its own State Constitution - again, all of them are codified.
(OOC: If I just weren't too lazy to write them, that is ...)
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

The Realm of Yohannes’ constitution [ Yohannesische Reichsverfassung ]

An excerpt from Tales from Yohannes the Continent.

In describing the political and constitutional framework of the Nineteen Countries, certain characteristics are especially prominent: (1) the absence of an elaborately written constitution; (2) the creation of a set of ‘introductory principles’ as low-quality alternative to a written constitution; (3) the absence of a proper bill of rights; (4) the creation of an alternative amendment model based on the original six introductory principles; (5) the de facto existence of a unicameral legislature; (6) the strong influence of the centralised judiciary in the political process; and (7) the existence of nineteen countries with a strong government at the imperial level, realised through the shared goal of ensuring prosperity and stability in Yohannes the continent.

There are few formal impediments to the exercise of executive authority in the Realm of fiords and mountain. However, a strong set of written constitutions does not provide guarantees that they will be observed. Some of the more elegant, libertarian documents have been very elaborately written for Hispanic-themed republics whose governments have shown remarkably little hesitation in disregarding their provisions.

Whilst the Yohannesian Model is a simple, convention heavy one, there is little that is inherently desirable about having a complex and too elaborately written constitution. That the nineteen countries would benefit economically from having the Electoral College returned to its old glory days, or a state to federal jurisdictions model closely resembling that of the United States Supreme Court, has yet to be demonstrated. Persons asserting that the Nineteen Countries requires an elaborately written constitution alongside a formally embedded bill of rights are often motivated by the political passions of the moment.

If a constitution in Yohannes the continent were to have the effect its proponents ascribe to it, namely, to protect the citizen against the enlargement of executive power at the imperial level, and to safeguard basic rights which majorities ought not to disregard, then some form of judicial authority would need to be given power to interpret constitutional provisions on a case-by-case basis, which the nineteenth Chief Justice of the Peace the Right Honourable Olivia Christensen had specifically ruled out in September 2017.

She said, “One of the effects of more direct intervention might be to lower the public regard for courts in the Realm of fiords and mountain. Certainly, courts in the far away country of the United States of America are subject to more partisan attack because of their heavy involvement in the making of what are, essentially, extremely complex and controversial policy choices.”

The Nikopolian Constitution is codified.

It's the Empire's second constitution. The first, Thaman Constitution, was almost 1700 years old and over 4000 pages long and full of hundreds of amendments collected over the centuries. It was abolished completely after the short lived period of full democracy was overthrown by Archon Angela II, and she authored the current one after seizing power.

Saranidian Constitution

Postby Saranidia » Thu Oct 11, 2018 8:41 am

Preamble
Sovereignty belongs to Allah(SWT) whose mercy and justice for all humanity are presiding over by the people of Saranidia in a sacred trust. They also owe this trust to the environment and the Muslim community as guardians of their interests.
Their policies should be compatible with a sense of justice resulting from God-given reason and the Quran.
Rights and duties
No one is to be sentenced to death without a fair trial. No bribes are to be taken. Anyone who feels oppressed by another may take the matter to the Brotherly Leader.
No one is to be tortured for example punished by fire, boiled with hot oil, or humiliated with sexual violence. Punishments approved by The Brotherly Leader
should not be taken to be torture except for the ones mentioned above, the same shall go for punishments approved by the Quran although punishments approved by the Hadith but not directly the Quran that are torture go against Quranic mercy.
refferendums should be held on
life imprisonment and capital punishment.
Every young, able, man has a duty to defend the liberty of their community through millitary service.
the National People's House of Delegates has the right to define young, able man subject to the Brotherly Leader's veto and Islamic law.
Every soldier along with their widow and orphaned children shall be given the right to compensation.
No one is to be discriminated against on racial or religious grounds.
Religious grounds may however be required for work of a religious nature.
Life is sacred and may only be taken in just combat or punishment each depended on divine and natural law.
Government
The leader’s title shall be Brotherly Leader
He shall be head of government, head of state and commander in chief of the army.
He shall be elected by the people from a list of Muslims who have not committed draft dodging, treason, child murder or rape.
He can be impeached by a council of Islamic experts if the hundred unanimously decided he is mentally, morally or physically unfit to lead or defend the Islamic Republic of Saranidia which shall be the state's official name.
meetings concerning laws that also apply to civilians must be attended either by a group of generals, cabinet, clerics and elected representatives or a referendum shall be held.
Mostly represents my views but what I think a Middle Eastern nation should do which will be sometimes different to what I think a western nation should do(because the people have different needs in different places)
