After that it was taken over by the Brittish Empire, who ruled the island until the year 1957.
As in 1957 a violent coup supported by foreign communist powers ended this bloody rule, starting a costly civil war that only ended recently, when Erich Warner formed the of e Republic of East Ustya.
This ended a 31 year civil war, as the the fall of the capital Sasburg, and the overthrowing of the fascist government lead to the creation of a new nation lead by Adrian Strandar.
East Ustyais separated from the West by a 50 mile wide ocean from the west, as well as a somewhat militarised border.
Today East Ustya is a small agricultural nation with a small though growing industrial sector, who produces small arms for its small military(3000 trained soldiers) and its larger paramilitary force (12.000 militants) who overthrew the old regime.

For the moment the government is developing its agricultural sector, ehich primarily produces fish, rice, fruit and beef, and a small industrial sector that mostly makes farming equipment, small arms and steel.
