The 11 month schoolyear ends in Late November, or Early December. Depending on the school district. (don't worry, it's only every other 3 days for those months)

On December 6, most kids get a smaller gift on St. Nick's day as a prelude to Xmas. Though the religious aspect is mostly ignored.

Throughout the month, trees are purchased and decorated and family begins to show up at the residence of the (primogeniture-based) oldest member with a large enough household to accommodate. The holiday sales begin with force around December 10th.

By around December 15th, usually the 'Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays debates begin to take the city center. And most businesses have made holiday based adjustments. The auto roads, and trains have gone from busy to nearly empty with family migration being over. The pedestrian roads meanwhile are bustling with carolers and the friendly visits. Over the course of mid December, close friend circles usually gather for a gift exchange or Secret Santa.

Some religious families and churches will set up Nativity scenes and hold masses. But as 48% of the population is non-religious, and Christianity is only at 22%, this is generally seen as a tradition held only by the overzealous evangelists and their followers.

On December 21st, the pedestrian roads empty, and the nation (minus some traditionally Christian families) becomes quiet in recognition of the Winter Solstice. On this day, it is ceremonial to hold a banquet with family, but as this is tradition on Xmas Eve and Xmas proper too, usually families will just say 'F*ck it' and have a feast on the 22nd and 23rd too. This has caused the 21st-25th to be dubbed 'The Five Day Feast' And most families have their own traditions regarding this holiday within/through another holiday.

On the 24th, 'Santa' hides presents under the Xmas tree as expected for the kiddies to open the next morning. Because families gather in such large groups; Dranchindi trees are very large, and the presents can either be stacked so high they'd obscure they average tree, or stretch so far out they cover the whole floor and must be walked over. This immense quantity of presents causes turn taking to be impractical, and most families just either dig in or have multiple family members open at the same time. Even then, this takes most of the day. In the evening, the last of the Five Day Feast is eaten, and other family traditions are had.

On December 26th, Feast leftovers are generally donated, or canned, or otherwise stored for later consumption. Visiting family spend the morning packing their vehicles for when they depart, and the rest of the afternoon is spent indoors with roaring fires, and feast leftovers effectively creating a Sixth Day Feast. Finally, the holiday season closes in the evening, with swathes of the country taking to the streets to carol the season farewell. (this day is sometimes called Christmas Carol in reference to this tradition) Those who stay home are usually up late playing games or visiting before they return home.

After this, the 27th-31st are rather quiet, and even groggy. This time is usually seen as a sort of 'rest' Often, family sticks around until after New Years. On New Years Eve, the people gather in city centers to countdown to midnight, and start the fireworks show. Yes, fireworks. Because of the cold, the show has to be short. And as such, is very flashy, at the expense of any sort of pacing.

Finally, family beings to slowly pile home starting on Jan 2nd, and usually things are back to normal by the 5th. The next few days are used to clean up whatever is still lying about from the massive celebration. By Jan 10th, schools will be starting back up, and Winter goes from that jolly time of celebration to a cold, bitter, overstayed welcome. Besides this, life generally returns to normal.

We're like Australia in that Christmas is celebrated in the middle of summer as we are located in the Southern Hemisphere. Therefore, our Christmas traditions are relatively summery compared to countries in the Northern Hemisphere. Going to the beach on Christmas Day is quite popular, and instead of eating a turkey or a roast we eat prawns for Christmas supper. We also retain a few Dutch Christmas traditions, and instead of Father Christmas we have the Dutch version, Sinterklaas. Zwarte Piet (or Black Pete), Sinterklaas' companion, is also a popular figure on Christmas, but he has become the subject of controversy lately just like it has in the Netherlands.

Most of the Federation has nothing even barely similar, but the small pockets of Humans that live there are celebrating, sharing their unique ways to celebrate according to each Planet, as Pine Trees are a bit too far us to gather (Two entire Galaxies, to be exact.)

Christmas Celebrations in Veikaia are not that different from your typical Christmas holiday in any other place in the world. Families gather on the night of the 24th of December, where they eat a varied number of warm foods and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to keep the cold of the night at bay. As midnight approaches the people of Veikaia generally serve each other a glass of champagne or other relatively expensive drinks saved specifically for this time and a toast is offered to God, Jesus, the Opokєt and for the health of all people on the table. Afterwards, the banquet continues with more food, drinking, fireworks and sometimes games, before everyone retires hours later back to their homes. At times a second dinner is had after the first, on the afternoon of the 26th, but the food is generally less lavish and celebrations more subdued. Of course, the celebration of Christmas is not always the same in each home, but all celebrations follow a similar framework.

Christmas was banned but in its place we have a holiday like Christmas where the citizens of the ISA would gather in the town square have mass and thank me Emperor Tex Cotton for providing them a place to live and to be born, then on what was Christmas morning the people of the town would place gifts such as cotton, gold, jewels, etc at the base of my statue then after that they get back to work.

New Guineaians, themselves, don't really celebrate Christmas. The majority of them are Jewish. Immigrants and visitors/tourists celebrate Christmas in the typical way, though. With the shopping of the presents and exchanging them, especially. It depends on which country they come from, though.

Lots and lots of singing, since most of the populace know how to read music, and going to the Opera and participating in Choirs are very common practices, people like to organize massive choral events were everyone can join and sing, there's even a tradition were the President has to conduct one of the spontaneous choirs that are formed.

On the 1st of December advertising for Christmas becomes legal.

On the night of the 24th of December, Christmas Eve, Father Christmas comes to Nihau Island in a sleigh pulled by, it is said, Giant Seagulls. And delivers presents to nearly everyone. On the 25th of December the islanders open presents and feast on turkey, potatoes, giant clams, Christmas pudding and other such things. December is also penguin hunting season when they can be legally hunted and eaten along with some of their eggs. The 26th of December, like the 25th, is a national holiday. Even prisoners on death row get nice food and no executions take place as the executioners are on holiday.

Christmas was driven underground as a cultural concept in the Anatheon (1968-1971), a genocide of openly religious Seglanders. Even as the Christian Church suffered massive losses, the Demarchist Party's Cultural Research Detachment launched an intense nationwide revival of Jül (pronounced roughly like the English 'Yule'), a Seglandic pagan festival traditionally celebrated on the day of the winter solstice. By the 1980s Jül had replaced Christmas entirely as the definitive wintertime holiday.

Today, Jültid displays severe symptoms of a hypermaterialist infection. In the cities, holographic Jül fires "burn" in the sky next to even larger projected corporate seals. Odin, Klaus, and the anthropomorphic Jül goat vie for marketing dominance on telly. Jültid giftgiving, a practice curiously appropriated in recent years from its holiday forebear, invades the public consciousness as early as November with the initiation of a headlong advertising rush which demands participation.

Jülnatt, or the night of the Jül, can never arrive soon enough after the stressful shopping season, and presents itself as a time for a skinny dip in the vast ocean of Seglandic liquor. The image of bearded, mirthful Seglandic men -- veritable Klauses -- quaffing lager around a restive Jül fire has nearly entered the international repository of stereotypes.

Seglandic police are out in force on Jülnatt. A drunk population is not to be trusted when there are children on the streets.

The day after: everyone nursing hangovers, then it's back to work.

Frenequesta celebrates a “Silver Week,” a week-long set of holidays from December 21 to 27. December 21 is Hearth’s Warming Eve, a holiday better known to others as Equestria’s founding holiday, but which in Frenequesta is a day to celebrate Pony cultural heritage. December 23 is Starguild Theatre Day, a much more solemn holiday remembering the Starguild Theatre fire, a hate-crime arson that precipitated the Violasfarne War. December 25, of course, is Christmas, the historically Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Christ (and which is still seen as such by Freneq Christians), but has become secularized as a time of gift-giving and celebrating the best qualities of all sapientkind. December 27 is Orchestra Day, which commemorates the birthday of Frenequesta’s most acclaimed human composer, Lowell Caberfields, and in general is a day for the appreciation of classical music. (The birthday of several other notable Freneq-Neighlander and Freneq-Joplinian composers also fall around the 27th, which is why it is not just called “Caberfields Day.”) Silver Week is a mandated public holiday, and many companies also give the two days before and after the 21st and the 27th respectively for vacation. Of course, as the question focuses on Christmas, we shall limit the discussion to Christmas, although the other holidays do provide some context to how Christmas is celebrated here.

Humans brought over many of the Christmas traditions of Earth to what is now Frenequesta, from the decorating of the Christmas tree, itinerant groups signing carols door-to-door, and the sumptuous evening dinner (always eaten on Christmas Day, and not Christmas Eve). One tradition brought from Germany is the Christkindlmarkt, which every major city has in a downtown park. Unlike elsewhere, the market is closed on Starguild Theatre Day and Christmas Eve, but opens again on Christmas Day. Trade is a symbol of peace in Frenequesta, so most retailers, financial institutions, malls, and markets, including the Christkindlmarkt, are closed in observance of the two days prior (if they weren't already). Those who are not at an early morning church service or unwrapping presents under the tree will often gather at the local Christkindlmarkt at around 7 AM to see the elected Christkind give a speech against bigotry and intolerance and for goodwill and understanding. She (and it usually is a she, though some cities like Unirove and Reinsburgh have allowed male teens to compete) then breaks the somber mood with a barter of goods between her and a Pony (or a human if the Christkind for that year is a Pony), upon which the Christkindlmarkt opens for business again.

As one can predict, Christmas is largely a human celebration, as most Ponies have already done their gift-giving and carol singing by Hearth's Warming Eve. However, many Pony families will bake (and eat) a special, multicolor cake on Christmas early in the morning to brighten everypony's spirits and break the somber mood of the two days prior. Many Ponies also do enjoy singing Christmas carols, even the religious ones, if just to brighten the mood. (Conversely, while Hearth's Warming Eve is largely a Pony celebration, many human families will allow their children to open one or two presents under the tree on that day, especially if the human family has a close friendship with a Pony family.)

It is a tradition to go to the symphony or the opera at least three times during Silver Week. This stems from both holiday pops concerts and last-second "encore concerts" that orchestras would organize to bring in more revenue before the fiscal year ended, slashing ticket prices by half to draw in more customers, but without announcing what pieces they would play beforehand. Since the establishment of Orchestra Day, it has become common understanding that at least one of those three attendances would not be on Orchestra Day. However, no concerts or shows are ever played on Christmas. So amateur musicians pick up the slack and both Pony and human families will often play one non-Christmas related classical tune on Christmas Day.
I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

Christmas is not celebrated in the Celtic Union since it is not a Christian nation. It does however, hold an annual festival at roughly the same time of year to celebrate the Winter Solstice. It is celebrated in much the same way, it is common for trees to be decorated with lights, and the exchanging of gifts on the day of the solstice to symbolise the opening of a new year full of possibilities. There are a two public holidays either side of the solstice, as well as the day of the solstice itself.

Christmas is a bit more radical, with a lot of drinking, eating, and generally degenerate behaviour. The SSP and Partizani churches are working on stomping this out, and making Christmas more religious then "a break from constant perfection" that most citizens view it as.

We start decorating the houses and the city for Christmas in the first days of December and after a week or two we also start to put Presepe (representations of the Nativity scenes with small statues, in real life Italy is a well known tradition, dont know if is famous outside Italy too) and the 25 of December the average Italic citizen of Bigoth goes to the Christmas Mass.
Exchanging presents is a Christmas tradition too and traditional foods are the “panettone”, the “pandoro”, the “cassoela” and the “cotechino”. Lamb and “polenta” are popoular too.

Basically every citizen celebrates Christmas in the traditional western way since more than the 98% of the population is Ambrosian Catholic, the other 2% are either of other Abrahamic faiths and a 0.01% is also atheist but probably celebrates Christmas too for tradition and for the holiday itself.

Like in a typical nation, Christmas is celebrated in Kendor. However, Kendor have it's own variation of Christmas, due to the multicultural nature of it's society, as well as mixing by the native Kendorian culture. While people are free to celebrate the original Christmas, their own belief's version, or not celebrate it at all, the national form of Christmas is the one mentioned.

Here, Santa Claus is depicted not just with reindeers carrying his sleds, but also an eagle who is not leashed to the sled, and instead, leads the reindeers to their destination. It's also believed that Santa's base is located in the North Pole, but in a certain area where Santa, his reindeers, elves, and eagle get a lot of sunlight, with the Sun right above them in the sky. The elves work making the gifts and presents, as well as loading them to the sled, when the Sun is still in the sky. They stop working at night. Then, at the Christmas Eve, Santa will begin his journey into people's home, dropping presents and gifts to everyone, except naughty people. The gifts are based on what the person wants the most.

As for the holiday itself, Christmas celebration starts on November 25 of each year, to December 25, where the celebration will reach it peak. Before 25 December, preparations are made for the celebration. People will hold a moment of solidarity with each other, and Christmas is mixed with other events that glorify the nation, including patriotic events. Work time will be reduced, but people will get payed with bonus wage. People will relax and enjoy time with their friends, neigbors, and kind strangers in their community. On the Christmas Eve and 25 December, work will be stopped entirely, except for some pretty important ones, though the employees are still allowed to celebrate on their own. Also, people will do many things like in regular Christmas.

While it is not a national holiday, since Saurisia is not a majority Christian country, it is observed by a number of cultures and peoples, and is thus celebrated in a number of different ways. Most Christians Varkussia are Orthodox, meaning they celebrate Christmas in January (adhering to the Julian Calendar), and they usually mark the holiday with parades where they sing carols and participating children are given sweets. Feasts are usually held, where they typically eat pork, fish, lamb, goose, jelly, and pie, and they spend time decorating a small tree made of dried branches which were traditionally burnt on the eve of the Orthodox Epiphany, to symbolize the end of the previous year's troubles. Varkussian Cossack bands have different manners of celebrating the holiday, but they usually have ceremonies involving the election of a new Ataman, commemorate the memories of fallen friends and relatives at special tales, and feast and watch musical performances to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

The Christians of the protectorate Kingdom of Kaxum and the province of Ouarzate also celebrate Christmas in different ways; the former are Oriental Orthodox and use the Julian Calendar. They celebrate Christmas on January 7 by donning white cloth garments and attend church services in the evening, which last until early in the morning. Prior to that, they spend several weeks fasting, only eating one vegan meal per day, and abstaining from meat, dairy, and eggs. The people who attend their churches are given a candle and with it, they walk around the interior of the church three times before they go to the second circle (Kaxumite churches have three circles, the center being the holy center where the Priest serves the Holy Communion of Mass) to stand during service. Traditional holiday foods include wat, a sort of stew made up of meat, vegetables, and eggs that is served on a plate of dried bread, and pieces of the bread (called injera) are broken off to serve as an edible spoon for the wat.

The Ouarzatites, on the other hand, are a reptilian race that had converted to Catholicism 1500 years ago, and so they follow Catholic practices in terms of celebrating the holiday. The festivities begin on Christmas Eve, with a church service that lasts all night with fledgelings reciting Bible verses, preaching, and both dancing and singing. On Christmas day, sauress groups from the local church parade around to other people's courtyards to sing and greet people. It is customary for one to give a small gift of money to the carolers, as actual gift-giving is only celebrated by the wealthy and the political elite; what gifts most people give to each other is limited to nuts, fruits, and small crafted items.
