Greetings,
In this increasingly large and complex world, in which more and more people and places are connected by telephone, television and Internet literally on an hourly basis, we of the Republic feel it is even more important now that is has been in the past to maintain personal ties with neighboring states, both the similar, and the radically different. To this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to accept a number of foreign embassies.
I ask you to carefully review the following guidelines, as they are quite important.
We look forward to dealing with you.
Signed by,
Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Imogene Blakely
Location: Embassies will be located on Embassy Drive, in the national capital of Dartford.
Immunity: Default policy in the Republic is that Ambassadors enjoy full immunity from all but the most infamous of crimes, but we have a policy of altering a specific Embassy's immunity guidelines to match those which they apply to Embassies on their own land.
Embassy Residents: No more than fifty people not including the Embassy Security Unit, the Ambassador and the Ambassador's own relations, shall be appointed to Embassies in the Republic at any one time.
Embassy Security: No more than twenty-five security personnel may be assigned to the Embassy Security Unit. If additional safety is required, it can be handled by local military forces.
Embassy Weapons: Pistols, light SMGs and non-lethal weapons are all that will be allowed.
Embassy Vehicles: No more than three armored Sedans, five armored SUVs, and a single small airplane may be posted to Embassy use by the parent state. The airplane shall be kept nearby at Dartford International Airport in a secure location. No armed vehicles will be kept by any Embassy.
Drugs/Narcotics/Alcohol: Narcotics of any kind are strictly illegal in the Republic, and Embassy staffers shall be expected to abide by this law. Tobacco and alcohol are permitted, though a license is required for any sales.
Notes on Culture:
Hestherians are by nature a very conservative, religious people. Churches, while built in an architecturally subdued manner, are common in all communities, and attendance is quite high. We respect that everybody has a right to believe, or not, as they wish. All we demand in return is that Embassy workers give us the same courtesy.
"If you come from an atheist state and do not believe in God, that is your right. Believing in Him is ours."
