Short Description of National History: Occula was once a united and orderly empire until the government was overthrown by the military. The central government fell apart, and people were left to fend on their own. The nation was divided up into city-states, and private militias struggled for power in their region. The new government recovered and managed to assert its control but only in a very limited way. The central government of Occula has the largest military and sphere of influence in the country, but separate provinces and cities still govern themselves and have private militias. The divided nation is always filled with small-scale wars and power struggles, but when a major crisis occurs, the Occulan people can unite.
