We follow a somewhat socialist Ideal, but we let private companies take care of cargo and passenger lanes as to not be to bloated.

The Pheonix represents The Battle of Pheonix, the first of many that would reduce the northern half of the milky way to little more than a cosmic junkyard, the Sword Represents the Military, the main backbone of the Early shipbuilding industry went into it when pirates became a problem between the 2200s and 2300s. and the Planet represents Terra, the capital of the Federation.

All AI are sentient, with full rights and respect. Hell, we have two races of sentient robots that joined the federation. The most advanced is probably me, as I can make split second alterations to a ship's systems.
