Gandoor was founded in 1587, when a group of settlements populated by members of a political group called The Friends of All, who were banished from England and stripped of their citizenship, decided to unify as one nation. In 1603, we became an absolute monarchy, which lasted until 1885, when we became a constitutional one. In 1904, following the dissolution of the monarchy as a result of the Gandoor Revolution in 1902, we officially became a republic and the modern Democratic Republic of Gandoor was established.

[Eclius]

It's a long story....in a nutshell, Eclius' predecessor nations (Eclius is a mega nation formed from several large nations) were once ruled by theocratic governments that believed Violetism. Before hand, highly-ranked religious officials from violetism abused their powers to max, with them living in luxurious villas, while people had barely enough resources to feed themselves. Furthermore, violeists sought to sustain their influence by controlling the rate of scientific advancement, and to eradicate whoever opposed their ideologies, this include atheists, STEM experts and members of LGBTQ community. This, however, didn't last long before the Syndicate of Light formed from the shadows, a Syndicate composed of those seeking to overthrow the grand church of Violetism in Eclius. Ultimately, the resistance forces defeated church of violetism, with the arch priest of the planetary system sentenced to death. With the victory of resistance, like-minded cultures across the system formed a great collective, naming Eclius, they have prohibited non-scientific beliefs, in fear it will once again rise up to oppress individuals and strip them of liberty.

Originally a hideout for pirates, they saw the need to abandon piracy and modernize the land in order to avoid falling behind the rest of the world. After the Council conquers or liberates (depending on how you look at it) the capital and the islands, it sets up a provisional government and later establishes a Confederation with a direct democracy.

[Seredina]

Seredina was a petty Slavic kingdom prior to 875. Around this time it became a county, remaining so until 1617 when it became a dominion of Sweden and was raised to a duchy. It remained a duchy when conquered by the Russian Empire in 1721.

In 1917, it declared its independence from the Russian Empire as the Kingdom of Seredina and remained independent until the first Soviet invasion in 1941. This was followed by a Nazi invasion 3 months later and the second Soviet invasion in 1945.

In 1991, exactly five decades after the first Soviet invasion, the country declared independence from the Soviet Union as the State of Seredina. Following a referendum in early-1992, the monarchy was restored and Seredina was re-declared the Kingdom of Seredina on 7 July 1992: the golden jubilee of Alexander V’s accession.

[The Atlantean Islands]

It began when a great city, then called Poseidra (pou-say-druh, nothing to do with Poseidon) was founded off the coast of what is now Atlantis Island. Some say they waged naval warfare on the tribes in the island, while others say they colonised the island, starting with what is now Atlantis City.

A bunch of citystates started gaining enough power to take control of entire regions of Lezra Island, and united later intro the Lezra States, before crumbling to internal conflicts, before the emperor united them all through political means, and through war in the case of the region of Highrock. He then made the empire in his image because it sounded fun, and somehow managed to make it a solid Nation without becoming a psychopatic tyrant.

[The Connwe]

The Connwe people go back hundreds of thousands of Foundation Years on Nerwembebwe, as well as hundreds of FY as a part of the Foundation itself. When we were contacted by the Foundation we were only just beginning to reach out into space; Although we had expected alien life to look very different, the first people that made contact with us did in fact look very similar (if nearly double our height and much paler than us!). Many years after this first contact, after decades of co-operation and friendly diplomatic relations with the Foundation, we were ourselves invited to join. Many of us accepted, and many declined. Those that accepted were invited to move to Thark, an orbital ring habitat which had recently been constructed in a nearby solar system. The ring was already inhabited by many "Foundies", including groups that we'd never seen before (some shorter or taller than those we'd already encountered, with different coloured skin/eyes/hair, different numbers of digits on hands, and so on) and also many non-human aliens and sapient machinery.

Within five years of our joining the Foundation, roughly 4/5 citizens from Nerwembebwe had moved to Thark. Some had already moved on from Thark towards other Foundation orbitals, or onto the vast city ships which constantly move around Foundation space. Nerwembebwe itself was now effectively a Foundation outpost.

97 FY ago The Connwe Project was launched - a ship of around 20 Connwe cultural & historical enthusiasts (and several thousand embryos) set a course for the orbital ring Candara, in the Menenlembe system. The ring was home to vast oceans and forests full of sapient creatures but had room for a technological, plains-based civilisation. Jwembe was built around the ship which took them there and the embryos were slowly fertilised, grown and introduced to our new community. We now have around 9,000 permanent residents (nearly all Connwe) and we have between 200 & 300 visitors at any one time. We maintain great relations with the Foundation, with the people still on Nerwembebwe, and with several non-human civilisations which have outposts within local space. Our citizens are encouraged to explore Foundation Space when they reach their maturity, and many decide to leave our community altogether although a slim majority do still choose to return as of right now.

Sweden + Slovenia = Swuvania, Even though the u replaces the e, the v replaces the d, the a replaces the e, Swuvania goes long long long way back from the Prumuan Kingdom of the times where The Kingdom of Great Britain's Royal Flag was a Red, White & Blue Saltire Flag with His Majesty's Coat of Arms. Following the outbreak of the Thiry Years' War, Felipe IV's minister Count-Duke Olivares tried to impose an absolute monarchy over the spains as it had been done in castille on the XVIth century. It added a system of disproportionate taxation and conscription known as the Union of Arms. Also Count-Duke Olivares had planned to cause a revolt in order to use the tercios to crush it.
The presence of Castilian troops in Catalonia led to a bloody revolt of reapers, that turned into a national revolt, in Barcelona in 1640. The Generalitat declared independence and under the protection of France and started raising an army of it's own.

The Reapers' War
Although Catalonia was still technically separate from Castile and the other territories of the former Crown of Aragon, the century since the death of Ferdinand of Aragon in 1516 had marked a gradual erosion of the Principality's traditional laws and charters. The Corts were called increasingly less frequently so the Catalan nobility and the rising urban bourgeoisie felt that their complaints went unheard by an absentee king. Not only the viceroy but the majority of the government officials in Catalonia were Castilians and the Catalans were unhappy about the progressive introduction of taxes that had only previously been paid in Castile.

During the XVIth and XVIIth century the economy was booming and the country was had growing in population dur the arrival of thousands of migrants. But socially the tensions were very great, brigantism and low intensity warfare among Cadells and nyerros was wide spread as was morrish piracy.

The attitude of the Madrid court was that Catalans were unfairly privileged and should be forced to contribute equally to Castile's military campaigns both financially and in terms of manpower. In 1626, Felipe IV's main advisor the Count-Duke Olivares instituted what was known as the Union of Arms, in which each of the Spanish monarch's territories would be obliged to send conscripts to the imperial army fighting the Thirty Years' War. All Spain's non-Castilian territories rejected the imposition with the strongest reactions coming from Portugal, Naples, Sicily and of course Catalonia, which based on the results of a vastly overestimated census was required to send 16,000 men as well as a million ducats.

Following the entry of France into the Thirty Years War in 1635, Catalonia became a war front, Count-Duke Olivares sent thousands of Castilian troops to strengthen the Catalan border with France against the forces of Louis XIII. The Castilians behaved like invaders and forcibly took over complete villages in Northern Catalonia and turned them into barracks.

Crops were stolen and trashed and a regime of terror was imposed on the peasant population with predictable consequences for local women. While castillian agents started instigating a revolt for their own profit.

In January 1640, a combined force of royal troops and Catalan militia under the viceroy, the Duke of Santa Coloma, retook the town of Salses in Roussillon from the French. Flushed with success Count-Duke Olivares wanted to continue north to take Paris and conscripted another 5,000 Catalans.

Violence broke out in the countryside and the Catalan peasants turned on the Castilian troops. The President of the Generalitat, Pau Claris began secret negotiations with Cardinal Richelieu, France's first minister.

More than 3,000 rural peasants from the Vallès region of central Catalonia led by the bishops of Vic and Barcelona marched on the Catalan capital and arrived in Barcelona on May 22nd 1640. Meanwhile, in the Empordà, a group of peasants set on and murdered royal officials who had taken refuge in a convent. The Castilian troops withdrew to Roussillon committing violent acts of revenge in Calonge, Palafrugell, Roses and other towns along the way.

The atmosphere of violence was widespread throughout Catalonia but it was in Barcelona on Corpus Christi that events came to a head. The date is remembered as the Corpus of Blood and marked the start of the first full-scale Catalan uprising after a century of Castilian impositions.

The Corpus of Blood

On June 7th 1640, day labourers from central Catalonia as well as escaping militia men from the north arrived in the rural town of Sant Andreu de Palomar just outside Barcelona in search of work. Traditionally, Corpus Christi was the start of the harvest when reapers could expect to find jobs on the rich farms to the north of Barcelona.

That year little work was available and the reapers were angered by the presence of Castilian troops, who were seen as responsible. After a series of altercations with the military, one of the reapers was killed. In response a furious mob took the flag of the parish of Sant Andreu as their standard and set out for Barcelona.

As the march progressed, more peasants arrived from the countryside and the reapers were joined by local tradesmen and workers. By the time they reached the city, the reapers were after blood and Castilian officials fled for their lives as buildings were destroyed. As maximum representative of Felipe IV, the incumbent viceroy, the Duke of Santa Coloma, was the main object of their anger. The mob made for the viceroy's palace, which they sacked and burned. The duke had already escaped to the beach hoping to find a boat and flee the city. It was here that the reapers caught him and ripped his body to shreds.

A full-scale revolution had broken out and the representatives of the Generalitat, principally Pau Claris and Francesc de Tamarit realised that this was a now or never opportunity for Catalonia to break free from Castilian control. With promises of independence, Pau Claris managed to placate the rebels and by June 11th, the reapers had left the city.
Francesc de Tamarit was made military commander and started raising, organising and training a serie of regiments.

Count-Duke Olivares also decided that it was time to finish with Catalan belligerence once and for all and sent an army of 26,000 Castilian troops, commanded by the Marquis of Velez, to invade Catalonia.
Tamarit Tried to trade time in order to prepare it's army and ordered delaying actions against the tercios. The Generalitat signed an alliance with the French but with the French army still in the north, the invading Castilians took a number of towns and executed hundreds of prisoners.

This only strengthened Barcelona's will to resist and on January 16th 1641, Pau Claris declared the independent Republic of Catalonia. A week later, though, the Generalitat swore allegiance to Louis XIII and the combined Franco-Catalan force gained a resounding victory at the Battle of Montjuïc on January 26th. With Barcelona secured, Pau Claris began further negotiations with the French ambassador Du Plessis Besancon and in December 1641 under the Treaty of Ceret, Catalonia became an independent republic under the protection of France.

During 1641-1644 the combined allied armies started recovering the Rosselló in the north and advancing south managed to recover the country untill the Segre-Ebre line.
At this point, Catalonia, like Portugal, had broken free of Castilian rule but a series of untimely deaths changed the course of events. The President of the Generalitat, Pau Claris died less than a month later in February 1641 and the Catalans were left without a strong leader. The architect of the Franco-Catalan alliance Cardinal Richelieu died in December 1642 and was followed a few months later by King Louis XIII. At the same time, as a result of uprisings not only in Catalonia but in Portugal, Naples and Sicily as well, Felipe IV dismissed the provocative Count-Duke Olivares and the reasons for war suddenly changed.

Catalonia nominally remained an independent French protectorate but its position as a passageway and disputed territory between the great powers of Castile and France, soon became clear. Although French troops had entered Catalonia as allies of the Catalan rebels, they behaved in much the same way as the Castilian troops had. Catalan peasants were left with the sensation that little had changed.

To make things even worst the combined catalan french armies were forced to held positions as reinforced spanish forces found that french had to retire troops to face another religion war in France.

Hopes for Catalan independence took another blow following the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648. This put an end to the major conflicts of the Thirty Years War, and the Castilian army was freed to concentrate on the campaign against Catalonia. Later that year they captured Lleida and in 1649 advanced almost as far as Barcelona. Were they were defeated again by the combined allied forces. In 1648 Fresh french Force arrived under The great Condé.
By 1651, The front had been reestibilised again. in the catalan borders The Generalitat led Francesc de Margarit, Pau Claris's successor as President of the Generalitat. Started negotiating three sides a peace. By October 11th 1652 Juan José de Austria, Felipe IVth, Bastard son and spanish commander signed the peace with Great Condé as France representative. Anyway the war reestarted in january 1653 until 1659, which was majorly a draw that exhausted both sides, in which a definitive peace was signed.
Catalan corsairs held some minor caribean islands.

Louis XIVth of France had opposite opinions with it's former minister Mazarin, that defended Catalonia as a buffer, and tried to annex Catalonia that caused the 2nd Catalan revolt in which Catalan forces supported by Dutch and spanish in the contest of the Franco-Dutch War. So Catalonia became fully independent again.

Looking admiringly on the Inquisition of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, it was adopted wholesale and is now a living and venerable institution; the Crusades never ended, even if they are rarely actively participated in; and one always spits after hearing the name of "Martin Luther" spoken on the byzantine streets.

He then went on to establish the dynasty that rules the country alongside the President to this day.

Over time, the governments both collapsed from war and that was that. Recently, the two places were reborn and remain on the edge of warfare about ninety-nine percent of the time.

There is no right date for the foundation of Leonnia. Many speak in 764, others in 1214, but the official one in the schools and universities cite the year of 801 when the chief Olav united all the leonnese tribes of the peninsula of Lenia to fight the tribes rivals of the old town Vlorg. After the end of the fighting in 813, Olav took advantage and declared himself King, initiating the period called by the historians of "Tribal Unification", because the leonnese society continued the same: tribal, pagan and warrior until the formation of First Kingdom of Leonnia, in 1214.

Kraicia was found by Celtic and Germanic tribes hoping to seek refuge from the Romans. Sailing halfway across the Atlantic Ocean, the Celts and Germans happened to stumble upon an archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic, better known today as Kraicia. It wouldn’t be until the Middle Ages that the Vikings would land on the islands as well; however, no official name had been given to the Kraician archipelago at the time, so Kraicia was hardly known on the map.

For centuries, everybody didn’t know what to call the islands without referring it as ‘The Gateway to Western Europe’. Though it wouldn’t be until the Renaissance that the English accidentally sailed to the Kraician archipelago. Once the English found land and anchored off shore, Kraicia was given a name based on the fleet’s captain, Earl Hoftman Holtshire.

Mr Earl Hoftmam Holtshire’s discovery eventually made it’s way back to England, where it had been declared that the Kraicia Archipelago would belong to the English as a colony; however, while the colonization Brough economic and military power in the Atlantic, Kraicia had other ideas. The Kraicians bitterly resisted political and military control of their home islands; however, despite this, the Kraicians were culturally inspired by the English, and it was only in a matter of years that England found it difficult to control Kraicia from a militaristic standpoint.

The English had power and authority but not that many ships available to properly control Kraicia. Spain, Portugal, and France nearby quickly got whom of this discovery, and wanted to cash in upon the new colonies offered by the Kraician archipelago; however, it was from these ambitions that Kraicia mustered the insane courage to pull the plug upon everyone. This became known as the Holtland Uprising - a war where Kraician partisans and the newly founded Kraician military repelled every European power from the Kraician Archipelago - where the Kraicians eventually gained its independence and full recognition as a proper European nation.

That is how Kraicia was founded and how it earned its name in Kraician English.

Mandicoria was simply forged as a concept since the ancient peoples settled and intermingled. The state of Mandicoria eventually came to be as the various cultures eventually blended to one, and formed a great nation. This was roughly around the year 220 AD.

Ahakista was originally independent though largely left to its own devices until they were forcibly annexed by a highly aggressive nation, the Vaygrs. For many a generation, the Ahakistans lived under the oppressive yoke of their occupiers until a favorable moment arrived when several other components of the Vaygr's territory made their plays for independence. In that chaos, nationalistic Ahakistans were supported by a series of anti-Vaygr nations from weapons to financial capital. These individuals rallied their people together and fought a brief but bloody war for independence. When the capital, Astina, fell to the Ahakistan Nationalist Front, the Vaygrs were forced to withdraw and recognize Ahakistan independence. The ANF became the Ahakistan Nationalist Party and seized the opportunity to restore their nation's self-determination with the formation of the Republic of Ahakista.
