Nudism in the empire is a thoroughly discouraged practice for both men and women. The empire regards clothing as a mark of civilisation and advancement, and the quality of the clothing as reflective of the prosperity of the nation. Therefore, those who engage in nudity as a lifestyle are regarded as regressive individuals favouring more barbaric and uncivilised times.

Indeed, it is regarded as an act of public indecency to be without clothing outside one's own home, and simple etiquette dictate that if you have guests over, you are suitably dressed. There are some exceptions and intricacies to these ideals however. First of all, the clothing itself does not always cover what clothing in other countries might. Dresses for Ephyral women for example are known to universally expose the woman's arms, much to all of her back, and optionally a considerable part of her midriff and chest, whilst retaining breast coverage. Male attire, a robe known as a kandar, can either cover above the waist or leave it completely exposed. The reason for this is that the Ephyral, for both cultural and climate reasons, do not view coverage above the waist as of paramount importance.

Women cover their breasts for comfort over modesty, and men and women alike opt for the more open and less-concealing attire during the hotter summer months. Boys and girls not yet of adulthood will go bare-chested essentially all year 'round. Thus whilst the Ephyral do have their own etiquette on what constitutes appropriate clothing, they do not hold nudism/naturism in esteem. Those that do it within their home quickly become ostracised, and often lack social engagements with others. Nudism is thus very rare in the empire due to the massive societal backlash, potential criminal case, and simple cultural pressure. Nations that permit nudism are viewed as base and primitive societies.
