The DGES uses a combination of advanced technology and sorcery for military purposes. The technology is advanced enough for us to give eternal youth to our sorcerers that maintain the militant skeletons which comprise our military. We also use technology to fit our militant skeletons with the latest models of armor that the DGES produces.

This being said, despite the DGES stressing our use of technology in our army, we do not fully embrace it. We do not fear technology, but we rather prefer superstitious approaches into solving internal conflicts. An example of such superstitious beliefs include our use of necromancy, a branch of sorcery, as well as our devoted belief of DEAREST LEADER Menta Lee-Il, the infinitely glorious King of all dictators. Technology may be a prime factor in our military, but ultimately we are an Empire that is governed by the supernatural.

Note: The DGES is ran by a dragon, so it makes even more sense that we are governed by non-scientific ideologies.

The Empire loves technology, albeit with a retro twist. We have highly advanced weapons and tech, but they have a very 20-50s aesthetic. Our automatic Hardlight and Dark Matter weapons, called Auto-Repeaters, look very similar to drum magazine equipped "Tommy Guns", albeit. Our hovercars resemble older vehicles, and our spacecraft hide their weapons behind elaborate Art Deco decorations and statues until needed, when the decorations fold away into the ships. We have highly sophisticated AI, which are fully capable of learning. Many Cybusians program their own personal AI's, and tinkering is a popular hobby. Thus, of course, we embrace technology.

Kenmoria is quite technologically advanced and we are world leaders in several scientific fields. We have comparatively little restrictions on experiemntation compared to other EU states aside from the obviously. There is generally no fear of AI other than some obscure science fiction comics.

In order for a civilization to grow and prosper under the Path of Enlightened Progress, one must take the forward-thinking pragmatic route of technological advancement. As for Artificial Intelligence, it should be kept to a level in which it provides beneficial assistance to human infrastructure without becoming too intelligent enough to pose a massive risk to humanity.

Technology in Blodrike is pretty much frozen in time since the Industrial Revolution. Petroleum fuels never caught on, because Blodrike has abundant coal and little oil, and depending on imports is out of the question. So if you come to Blodrike, you will see all kinds of steam machines hard at work.

Electricity is also unnecessary because magic can do everything it does.

We eagerly embrace technology, because it was what made terraforming Mars possible. We still heavily rely in it for many purposes, such as filtering the toxins out of the Martian regolith and converting the regolith into usable soil. We also embrace AI, which are very useful and possess equal rights (We're not worried about a Terminator or Matrix outcome).

We're tech nuts.
of course, it's a bit funny mostly because of the gaps between different technological revolutions (for example, we had like, a century of difference between steam and holographic projection, with nothing in between)

We "borrow" the latest technology from all over the world. Our military uses state-of-the-art technology where it's appropriate - e.g. radar - but is still pretty low-tech overall. There's a limit to what you can do with drones, night vision, etc.; sometimes you just have to send in the walking infantry.

The general public doesn't embrace new technology indiscriminately either. Most people get their TV by satellite but many don't even have phones in their houses. However, cellphones are becoming pretty common.

How does your nation feel about technology and artificial intelligence? - There is a great deal of mistrust relating to advanced technology, although it is slowly (very slowly) becoming more accepted as being the "way forward", to quote one of our MP's. AI is, however, utterly despised.

To what extent does your nation stress science and technology? - Science is, unsurprisingly, a highly valued field. Our weapons, industry and Empire are built on scientific advancement (mostly mechanical or medical).

Does your nation embrace it or fear it? - A broad mix.

Vannish realize the importance of technology and staying ahead or at least caught up, but at the same time, are fairly technophobic. The world is ever changing around us and its making less and less sense to us. So we're rather conflicted about it, we're trying to advance while maintaining old values and tradition. Automation is probably what scares us most, AI being quite up there. The future is uncertain and we are unsure of what lies ahead for us in technology.

Uh, sorry to burst your bubble, mate, but technological advancement existed waaayyyy before free market was even a concept. In fact, history has shown that war plays a big role in technological advancement (e.g. the advancement of body armor from ancient to medieval times; the evolution of firearms since the creation of gunpowder; rocket technology from Nazi Germany being used as a foundation for America and Russia's space programs). :eyebrow:

TurtleShroomers are skeptical of automation, but technology itself is not hostile to your average citizen. Artificial intelligence- any form of AI brigher than that of a video game computer player or a spell-checker -however, is terrifying and the state has enacted strict measures to curb it.

Among other rules:
  • No machine may pass the Turing Test. Any machine that regularly succeeds- or is deisgned with the purpose of passing the Touring Test -must be confiscated and destroyed.
  • No machine may exist that cannot be immediately ordered to shut down. This can be in the form of unplugging the machine, switching it off, or manually forcing it to shut down.
  • No machine can be programmed or built to refuse an order to shut down.
  • No AI may be sentient, self-aware, or self-learning beyond its parameters. Machines that are any of these things must be confiscated and destroyed.
  • No AI shall be sufficiently advanced as to have the ability to look at a mirror and realize it is looking at itself and not another AI. (This is a critical aspect of advanced thinking and self-awareness.)
  • No automated machine is allowed to operate without being under the direct observation and authority of an organic, sentient being.

Although it is not a government mandate, most schools in TurtleShroom have chosen, as their required reading, books outlining the dangers of artificial intelligence and excess automation. Most TurtleShroomian schools also air the "Terminator" series, "2001 Space Oddessy", or "I, Robot", among other films, as part of any discussion or lesson plans on the dangers of AI or excess automation.

AHSCAians have always had mixed attitudes towards technology and have been slow to adopt. Much of this is based on long standing cultural and religious ideology. While technology has not been outright prohibited by religious doctrine some have interpreted their spiritual beliefs and leaders to say advancing to the status of the Goddesses is sacrilegious. Other cultural ideas feel the world is far to industrialized and decadent as a result and families are better off living more with nature than an over reliance on technology.

Still that's not to say there's been NO technology advances or embraces on the islands or by the citizens. The military and police have become increasingly modernized than ever before, even then most of the tech was pretty "modern" before foreign aide. Reliance on radar to forecast storms has been increased some ships have been more modernized and others also have radio or mobile phones.

The idea of AI though is generally not well favored or liked among people. AI is also feared by some as an attempt to replace life itself with pure machinery.
