Well, seeing the semi-solid trend of these past few weeks on this particular forum, and seeing as how my factbooks are incomplete, I’ve decided to open my own little question and answer thread to both formulate some ideas for my nation’s history and to just converse with some of the other people here. Whether this leads to a long productive discussion or just me waiting for someone to respond, I do look forward to what this brings to the table.
To introduce the structure of Hinodia, it is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with all members of it’s unicameral legislative body, including the prime minister, elected directly by the populace. The reigning Emperor, however, has constitutional powers capable of overriding any decision made by the legislature, and does in fact participate in the political scene. The country’s political ideology is fairly conservative and patriarchal, but it is far from oppressive, offering universal suffrage and allowing for freedom of religion and speech so long as it does not cause conflict. As for the country’s culture, it is rather mixed, and while predominantly Japanese, it shares Korean, Chinese, and Roman influences in it’s art, architecture, language, and religion.
With all that having been said, let the questions begin.
