Skjoldurian Expansion:
Offical Government Document- Notes- Expansion in the North.
Today settlers accompanied by a two division of Skjoldurian highlanders (units skilled in rural combat) advanced into the native territory, the highlanders accoutred several tribes, a few entered into short firefights, mostly though the tribes were relocated without much bloodshed.
With the natives gone the highlanders set up several forts and bases in the surrounding areas. Out of the expanded areas most of them will become frontier towns and logging areas. However there are four major towns/cities that will connect the areas.
Randers will border the Greater Slavacia and be built up and a heavily fortified city. We will garrison a large part of the Skjoldurian highlanders in here, acting mainly as a threat to Slavacia, we will also try and use this area as the main land bridge between Slavacia and Skjolduria so we can control the trade.
Esbjerg is been built as a central point for the local mining areas. Esbjerg will act as an area that the local mines that populate the area can go to trade, gather supplies and send goods back to the coast. The city will also act as a way to help modernise the smaller and more inadequate mines in the area
Tromso will act as a staging ground for the new expansion. Refugees, displaced haranites and people seeking a new life will be trained in frontier survival, be given roles in their new life and prepare for the next stage
Harstad will act as a manufacturing town, the area around it is ripe for production, with Harstad set up the population can begin to use the surrounding recsources to build up quite important town focused mainly on weapons (unknown what speciality yet).
Overall expansion has gone well, natives beaten back and no longer seem willing to fight, intelligence seems to suggest they are heading even further north in greater numbers, seemingly to head to Chargans old territory.
Financial cost minimum however problem with the building of railways and motorways, costs expected to rise (note: get another loan from drunk roman aristocracy).
