You ought to select which hexes you wish to claim. Take a look at the main map here and select up to 17 hexes that are not already occupied. Then we can guide you through the rest of the process.

December Expansion
Hasty moves had been made after the Greater Slav nation had arose. Skjouldurian intelligence had been caught with their pants down when the nation had been formed. It had completely ruined Skjoldurs expansion plans and hasty plans had been made. The key was establish a border between the two nations. Hasty plans had been made to expand the northern areas. Towns had been quickly established and locals bribed or forced to join the Skjoldurians. Troop hastily set up wall and border defences against an enemy they knew very little about whilst back in the Skjoldruian capital plans were been brought up to deal with this new threat.

Friendly Island has been busy planting its nasty little fingers into a lot of strange places. . .

Here's some info for Journey, it started showing up in Troubled Birth, and even sent out a message via broadcast.

Curiosity Troop crept down to this party of the world while the Friendlies were establishing "peace" with Aurum.

Tooth Cluster's not doing anything terribly exciting. They're slowly expanding and adding more to Friendly Island. Best of all they don't seem to be diverging!

Is this an ok claim? The marked off land and the circled islands. It's most of the lands I had before I CTE'd. I wasn't sure if the orange islands (marked with a question mark) belonged to anyone. They are coloured in but there didn't seem to be a matching colour so I wondered if maybe it was a mistake. They were part of my original claim way back but if they are someone else's now, no worries. Thanks!

Orange bit is, as far as we can tell, a holdover from an old CTE'd nation that missed our gaze, so yes you will get those islands with the rest of your claim.

The base map long precedes our tenure as Cartographer, so we are unfortunately unable to provide much information regarding its creation (if we recall correctly, it was generated randomly at some point). You are welcome to shoot us TGs if you want more information about the map or the region as a whole.

To put nations on the map is as easy as drawing lines and filling land with a given color; fairly easy, but tedious to make it look neat. While there is no set deadlines for map updates, we generally update the map once or twice a month.

Some other stuff, such as the map of continents and climates found on our factbook, was made largely from scratch by us, taking most of the inspiration from the set-ups of previous Cartographers.

On that note, map updated.
