A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

Shut down the blog.

A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

Attack the hippies and crush their wimpy nation.

A group of pirates from a third world nation to your east has raided and brutally murdered the crew of 2 of your nation's cargo ships. They demand you pay them $300 million dollars or say they will launch more attacks against merchant vessels. The nation of the pirate's citizenry has claimed it does not condone the pirate's actions and that they act alone, yet the pirate's base of operations is believed to be in the countryside of said nation. What is your nation's reaction?

Attack the pirates' base and destroy them, if the local government sends a naval force to force us to leave, we destroy them too.

A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

Force them to leave immediately.

A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

Invade the nation, if they are in anarchy, then they need to be brought under our control.

A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

Execute him quietly.

In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?

100,000,000 hits...I suppose the other 99.25% of my population who didnt see read the blog wouldnt even notice what amounts to handful of pissed off internet dorks.

"A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?"

To attempt to purchase the resource and not the land, like any market everything is for sale at the right price. since the nation cant exist in a bubble we will also court a trading partner of that nation to acquire the resource for us--duh.

" A group of pirates from a third world nation to your east has raided and brutally murdered the crew of 2 of your nation's cargo ships. They demand you pay them $300 million dollars or say they will launch more attacks against merchant vessels. The nation of the pirate's citizenry has claimed it does not condone the pirate's actions and that they act alone, yet the pirate's base of operations is believed to be in the countryside of said nation. What is your nation's reaction?"

We arm our Merchant Ships, and conduct raids against the base of operations with the consent of the nation from which they operate--you never said that wasnt an option.

" A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?"

Contact the ship.

" A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?"

Full strategic Retaliation. Nuclear extermination of the populace.

"A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?"

Complete cessation of diplomatic relations, a punitive tax on all imported goods from said nation and a punitive tax on any industry conducting business with said nation until such time as the specific delegate no longer holds that position. Or until the delegate lodges written on record public apology for "being an ignorant buffoon too stupid to even operate a microphone let alone be allowed to speak publicly." worded any other way it will not be considered an apology.

" In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?"

In all likely a member of the President's Party, Clan, Home Town, Family would issue a "Call for Blood" challenge to determine the merit of the Legislators claims.

"A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?"

No Government reaction, no crime committed.
However it is unlikely he would survive the day.

The website will be shut down, and the citizen reprimanded for not possessing a state media distribution license, an encouraged to seek employment at one of the many approved media outlets. If the offense continues, the citizen may have their PC issuance revoked and internet/phone privileges denied, depending on the severity of the infraction. If the Citizen still continues, they will be tried for minor counter-revolutionary activities, and sent to the countryside.

Attempt to purchase the goods at favorable prices through trade negotiations, or if the resources are underdeveloped, offer to assist in their extraction, or otherwise attempt to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. If the resource is desperately needed, generally unavailable elsewhere, and the nation is being uncoperative, we may engage in "trade warfare" and other economic pressures in order to pressure them to provide access to the resource, this may take the form of dumping subsidized goods, cutting off other trade, etc. The People's Republic of Guanzhong would never engage in a armed conflict over resources, and even excessive pressure is considered a last resort.

The People's Republic of Guanzhong would never pay a terrorist organization protection money. We have our embassy or consulate in said nation issue a statement along the lines of, "An immediate cessation of piracy against Guanzhongese vessels will be mutually beneficial to our two nations and prevent unnecessary loss of life and property", and begin a "naval exercise" near the nation in question. They may interpret that as they will.

In the meantime, the Guanzhongese merchant marine will either find a new route, carry basic defensive armament, or accept Guanzhongese or allied escort, depending on the circumstances.

We would first attempt to hail and identify the battleship. A lone battleship is not an invasion force, and excessively conspicuous to be conducting espionage. If the first contact does not resolve the issue, then a second statement will be made declaring that said vessel is currently within the Guanzhongese maritime barrier and/or exclusive economic zone, and that in accordance with Guanzhongese and international law, unaligned warships are not permitted, and offer escort towards international waters. If the vessel still does not respond, or is uncooperative, warning shots will be fired. If the vessel, at this point still does not change course than lethal force is applied.

We will not turn down a neutral vessel in need of supplies, however we would prefer this to occur at sea if possible if the vessel in question is not trusted.

The delegate in question will be declared persona non-grata,and dismissed from the country and relations with the nation in question will deteriorate immensely. Our leaders will issue a long winded diatribe against the nation in question for their manners and policies, and an official apology will be demanded. Lasting effects are dependent on our previous relations with the offending nation, and the nature and severity of the remarks.

The People's Republic of Guanzhong remains committed to inter-party democracy, and legitimate complaints are encouraged, however if the remark made by another party member in a meeting is either inappropriate, or counter-revolutionary in nature, that individual will be either dismissed from the meeting, removed from the party, or forced to resign.

Exile. Anarchism as a political movement separate from the historical/scientific progression of Marxism-Leninism has no place in modern society.

What would be your government's response to the following situations:

A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

If a secret was really important enough to be any form of credible threat to national security if leaked, it would be most certainly be classified. There would be no government "reaction" besides in the media. Might lead to some flame wars or rants by radio hosts like Mount Shavano said.

A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

Firstly, we would never send a delegation demanding them to give up land. If trade relations could not be established we would look elsewhere for this resource. As of now there are no resources that we desperately need that could not be obtained through trade.

First, we would send an MDISC anti-piracy task force into the area to protect ships and crack down on the pirates. As for the nation where they reside, we would seek to jointly cooperate with the government of said nation to seek and assault the base of operations from the pirates.

A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

We would deploy a carrier strike group to the area and tail the vessel with submarines while making contact with the vessel, inquiring as to its intention, and if it was peaceful and simply veered off course, we would escort it out of our waters.

A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

First we would tighten security and administer antidotes to the bio-weapons to those who may have been exposed. Next we would probably deploy an MDISC military task force to that nation to pursue the terrorist group, and maybe also send advisers to get the nation and its military on its feet.

A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

Given that it was not a terroristic threat, there would be no reaction aside from media and internet hype.

In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?

They would have the right to mock the president under freedom of speech, so there would be no reaction other than maybe internet and media hype, as stated above.

A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?

Given the particular flag was his property and he was not committing vandalism of anyone else's property, he would have the full right to exercise his freedom of speech. Perhaps some flaming in the comments section.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, if they get pissed, they'll be a mile away- and barefoot.

We would have shut down the entire website, catch all the people who were involved in it and hang them straight away in public.

2. A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

Well why is our huge investment in military for? We would attack it capture the nation and take the resource...

3. A group of pirates from a third world nation to your east has raided and brutally murdered the crew of 2 of your nation's cargo ships. Well again why is our huge investment in military for? We would attack and capture the third world nation to east where the pirates have there base.

4. A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?
Well sink the battleship and attack and capture the nation whose battleship appeared on our territory.

5. A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?
"The foe will see rain of ruin". The nation who dared it will see nuclear fall out through out there nation. We would have fired thousands of nukes to the nation who did it.

6. A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?
Report it to the nation whom the delegate belongs to and ask them to hand over the him to us. If they agrees the delegate will be hanged. If they refuses then war and the delegate will be hanged once we capture that nation.

7. A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?
We would close the site, catch the man, toucher him in public and then with all his family burn to death in middle of road.

You're not very realistic in how you deal with others, are you? You are simply not large or strong enough to capture most nations. France is large enough to grind you in to bone pudding.

Also, how does one "toucher" somebody? Is it anything like torturing them?

Now...

1 .A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

We would politely ask them, privately, to keep quiet, and would keep in mind to classify that which we desire to keep secret in the future.

2. A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

France likely would not ask for the land itself, but would make offers as to commercial trade. If they refused, we would seek it elsewhere.

France does not pay others not to attack us. We hunt them down and kill them, so they may not harm us again.

4. A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

French Navy units would approach the ship in an effort to discern identity, purposes, and most appropriate course of action, which would range from politely asking them to leave, to sinking them on the spot.

5. A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

DGSE, the Republic's foreign intelligence arm, would launch an aggressive campaign to reveal what faction was responsible and punish in harsh ways those behind that. Meanwhile, a program of study in to possible aid for the country in question would be started.

6. A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

Nothing. If the man wishes to make an ass of himself, we will not stop him.

7. A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?

He would likely be dead within two days, but not from government actions.

Negotiate the harvest and purchase of the resource. Taking the land is not an option, as our neighbor to the south has been our ally for many years.

Our reaction would be the same as it has for centuries, to hunt down and destroy the pirate base and execute the pirates. If they are discovered at sea, sink on sight.

A military ship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

Meet them with a larger naval force, and remind them that military vessels not our own or those of our allies are welcome only upon invitation, and request they leave. Immediatly.

There's a cure for anarchy - it's called "order", and since they are a source of threat, we will take it by force and create order. Once stabilized, the people can vote by referendum whether or not to become a confederated state of the HCSK, or to become their own country again.

If those "feelings of dissidence" became too strong and a problem for the government, we would have to be honest with the people and tell them the reason wanted to keep those things secret in the first place.

The government would do some damage control and hope that the issue fizzles out quickly. Also, an internal investigation would be conducted to determine the person responsible for the leakage, who would be promptly and discreetly transfered to our embassy on the most depressing country we can think of.

A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

We would initiate trade negotiations to acquire the resource, probably offering any other resource we produce and they may need. A permanent trade agreement would be the best result.

We would send our Navy to protect the merchant vessels in that area and respond to any pirate attacks with appropiate force.

A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

Contact bothe the ship and its nation of origin and try to determine their intentions. Have our Navy in alert for any possible threat.

A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

Make finding the any terrorist within our borders -and specially those directly responsible for the attack- and bringing them to court the top priority of our police forces.

A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

If asked by the media about the issue, lament that manners and knowledge are not characteristics that every diplomat possesses, as would be desirable. Also, privately contact the government of said delegate's nation of origin and inform them that we would appreciate a public appology from him and his transfer to other mission, as a way to mantain the friendship between our nations.

In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?

Again, if inquired by the media, deride the fact that the opposition has resorted to childish fits of bad manners, instead of being capable of a proper debate.

1: A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

Gradual. Instantly taking down the blog and arresting or killing the author would turn him into a martyr and that undercurrent of dissidence would grow. He would be arrested in time, but only once some suitable charges have been fudged and sufficient evidence has been planted. Possession of illegal materials, perhaps. With him out of the public eye for some time, his influence will dwindle and die.

2: A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

Why would we ask them to give up the land? The first step would be economical in nature, either offering to buy whatever quantity it is of this resource we need or, if they have yet to start exploiting it themselves, open a path for companies with an interest in doing so. Continued refusals would almost certainly lead to them being annexed, however.

3: A group of pirates from a third world nation to your east has raided and brutally murdered the crew of 2 of your nation's cargo ships.

Two-fold - simultaneously striking on an individual and an international level. If the nation of their citizenry refuses us permission to locate and assault the base of operations, they will be treated as hostile and dealt with accordingly. The pirates themselves will be hunted down unmercifully and likely made into an example with some kind of very public execution.

4: A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

Hail the unknown ship and politely request both more information and for them to leave our waters. No need to go straight to violence.

5: A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

Oh, in this case, war. I don't care what the state of the enemy nation is, an attack of that nature and that magnitude demands retribution and retribution will be had. Let's see how anarchic the whole thing can be when it's glass.

6: A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

Demand a public apology for the insults. If the nation in question is so arrogant to refuse, then have their leader killed. If not, simply have the delegate killed.

7: A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?

How would your government react in the following situations:

Postby Yannia » Thu Mar 25, 2010 6:02 am

A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?
At most, the government would issue a declaration to defuse the situation, but no other action would be taken. (And let's be honest, if the government had really wanted it to be kept secret, it would have classified the information.)

A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?
The government would negotiate a trade deal, in stead of trying to annex the area. Failing that, we'd look elsewhere for the resource, and place agents within the nation with the mission to softly persuade the government to make a trade deal.

The government would try to get the pirates extradited from their country. If the country refuses, we'd embargo the country, and place a contingent of marines aboard any so requesting Yannian cargo vessel to travel through the area. If the vessel is attacked by pirates, the marines will engage them until they retreat, surrender or die. Any captured pirates will be brought to justice in Yannia.

A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?
It would be intercepted by a squadron of warships, and a squadron of naval aeroplanes, warned that it is entering Yannian territorial waters, summoned to identify itself & leave Yannian territorial waters. Further action would depend on the behavour of the battleship:
if it fails to respond, a warning shot will be fired across its bow, and if it still fails to respond, a boarding will be attempted,
if it responds in a hostile manner, it'll be engaged until it either surrenders or sinks,
if it responds in a non-hostile manner, it'll be escorted, either out of Yannian territorial waters, or into a Yannian port.

A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?
The people of Yannia would not demand war, they'd demand justice. The other nation would be requested to cooperate with an investigation into the whereabout of the attack's perpetrators. If the nation would refuse such cooperation, operatives in the nation will attempt to find out the attackers' whereabouts, and when found, abduct them to be brought to justice in Yannia.

A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?
The delegate would be given 48 hours to leave the country. (S)He would not be allowed to return to Yannia in any capacity (not even as tourist), unless (s)he issues a very contrite apology.

In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?
The prime minister might voice his displeasure, or attempt a wisecrack, but nothing else would happen.

A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?
The people would be angry, possibly even outraged, but the government would do nothing.

Shut down the website and deny all knowledge of this event and declare the documentation falsified.

A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?
Proceed with diplomatic approaches until the nation has proven it's utterly unwilling to move on it's stance; after that seek out other sources.

Firstly: This is unlikely to happen due to the Destroyer-Escorts that accompany the Imperial Merchant Navy, IN the event that this does happen however; there is no diplomacy with pirates, annihilating them is far too kind, no we go a step further and root them out from the country they operate in; with of course that governments permission which, if it's denied we'll simply invade.

A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction? The Coast-Guard would simply request that this ship turn back to international waters immediately, if it is need of supplies(as in being dangerously low) said ship would be escorted to the nearest harbor and then escorted back to international waters.

A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction? Utter. Annihilation. Period.

A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction? Demand a formal diplomatic apology, if said request is denied then we'll request to present the indivdual to erm 'trial' (We'll just execute them if we're given permission. Seriously.)

France is in wonderment as to why some of these nations even have legislatures. It seems your only response to somebody speaking his mind is "We'd kill him! How dare he!?!"

Not to mention some of you seem to believe you can just invade and annihilate any nation who does not do what you wish, or kill a foreign nation's representatives. Anybody asking permission to execute a French diplomat because of what he had said in private would immediately be blacklisted by the Republic, the politician and our entire diplomatic staff would be called home, and any of theirs in our nation expelled.

God help you if you just went ahead without permission.

For the love of God...

Tiesabre would attempt some sort of trade exchange in order to peacefully obtain the resource we need. Tiesabre sits on a wide variety of resources and we are sure we could find an agreement at some point.

Tiesabre does not negotiate with pirates. The Coast Guard would send addition patrol ships to the affected waters to ensure the security of all of all Tiesabre and non-Tiesabre ships. We would also send a delegation to the country of origin to discuss the issue at hand and how we could improve it.

The Tiesabre Buk defense batteries in the area would lock-on to the unknown battleship and a defense group of Navy ships consisting of 4 ships, typically two surface ships and two submarines would scramble to the target area. During this time warnings would be made to the ship to order to determine its country of origin and reason for the intrusion.

Any assassination of Tiesabre's leaders is automatically declared an act of war no matter the state of origin. Considering the situation of said country, it would be decide that diplomatic discussion would be nigh impossible. The Tiesabre military would invade said country and bring about order and raise up a government and Sector 13 agents would activated and sent underground to weed out and eliminate any terrorist operating in Tiesabre with extreme prejudice.

A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

We. Classify. Everything. We. Don't. Want. The. Public. To. See. Enough said.

"A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?"

We're isolationist and pacifist; why the hell would we invade someone who agrees with SANITY? - Diplomacy, of course; if they deny such deals we'll seek out a new source(assuming we actually need the stuff.)

The Merchant Navy is literally guarded by Battleships, who in their right mind would attack something guarded by a floating fortress?

" A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?"

The Coast Guard would first contact the ship via radio, if it doesn't respond a warning shot is fired across the bow of the vessel. From there several things could happen: Should the vessel prove to be hostile it will be engaged and destroyed immediately. Should the vessel be low on supplies it will be led to the nearest port where can resupply before being escorted back to internation waters. Should the vessel be unable to communicate via radio then the Coast-Guard will pull along side the vessel to discover why, if engaged the first scenario plays out.

1. A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?
:This offence falls under the Defence of The Homeland act, the owner of the blog would be tried for treason.

2. A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?
: The Armed Republic Of Wolohanistan would respect the nation's wishes and set up diplomatic relations to see if there is any other way to obtain said resource.

: The might of the Wolohanistani Peoples Navy would be unleashed upon any pirate coming within view of any Wolohanistani vessel. Rather than invade, some fully manned attack ships would be a good deterrent.

4. A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?
: We would ask the ship to identify itself and its intentions. If no answer is given the ship will be seized and/or destroyed. If the intentions are peaceful the crew will enjoy the hospitality of the Wolohanistani people.

5. A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?
: The local battalion of The People's Armed Militia would mobilise to restore peace. Then all efforts would be made to identify the culprits. On identification the belligerent nation would be promptly invaded by the Glorious Liberators of The Wolohanistani Armed forces.

6.A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?
The ungrateful delegate would be asked to apologise to the People of Wolohanistan and to Salute the Wolohanistani flag. If they refuse they will promptly be removed from the country by force.

7.In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?
The legislator's opinion would be respected but he would be fined for disturbing the peace during a government meeting

8. A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?
They would be arrested, made to memorise the name of all of the glorious dead on their local War Memorial, apologise to each and every name for disgracing the sacrifice they made, after this they would be made to sing the national anthem in front of the nation's flag. After all that's been done they shall pay a fine of 200 million High-5's or face 25 years imprisonment.

The blog would not have reached 100 million hits and would have already been taken down, the poster executed for treason if possible.

If it's desperate we'll send a few hundred thousand marines to try and change their ideas. We don't tend to enter many resource wars though.

We'd increase armed naval and air patrols and if after requesting that the nation's police raid the said base and not followed through, we'd send in a special ops team to take them out.

Send a fleet and try to negotiate. If all else fails the ship will be attacked and the crew taken prisoner.

We have the resources to ensure that a biological attack would not seriously damage the capital, however these situations would vary too much to give a definitive answer.

Icariann's Respones to the following situations:

Postby Icarianna » Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:12 am

What would be your government's response to the following situations:

1: A notorious blog that has received over 100 million hits has sparked feelings of dissidence towards the current government of your nation after some information that your government did not classify, but would have preferred to have kept secret, was leaked. What would your nation's reaction be?

We did not classify the information, so no crime was committed. We'd get our best publicists and launch a response to calm the dissidence and promote good feelings followed by some kind of tax cut if that did not work.

2: A nation to the south of your nation has been found to have a resource your nation desperately needs. However, the nation happens to be isolationist and pacifist in view and has said it will not give up the land after a delegation was sent to the nation. What is your nation's reaction?

We'd try harder to come up with something they would like and promote trade. If that failed, like Yannia, we'd look elsewhere and say "darn it all" over and over.

3: A group of pirates from a third world nation to your east has raided and brutally murdered the crew of 2 of your nation's cargo ships.

We don't pay ransoms as a government. If private citizens have the money and want to pay, they can. Also, we'd ask that nation to see justice done, too, and influence them however we can to stop the pirates themselves, even to the point of denying them the import of our excellent, world-renown pizza.

4: A military battleship from a nation that is mostly unknown to your nation's diplomatic scope has veered into your territory. What is your nation's reaction?

We'd ask them to identify themselves, of course, and give them a chance to explain. One lone battleship is probably not a threat. We'd expect them to have a good reason and invite them over for a great pizza dinner and hopefully make friends. We can be very persuasive. If all works out well and they like our pizza, we might can bribe them to attack those pirates from the previous question for us. Maybe that's all they were doing, anyway.

5: A biological attack on your nation's capital has just been made, claiming the life of several beloved leaders and commoners. The nation demands war with the belligerent nation, however the group that carried out the attack is unclear as the situation in said country is sheer anarchy. What is your nation's reaction?

Of course, we'd be outraged and our government leaders would demand we send a delegation to the anarchist country to see justice done to the actual perpetrators. Seeing that they are in anarchy, we'd likely not blame them all enough to wage a war, just find the exact group responsible and bring them to justice publicly so all could see and spit on our TV sets during their trial.

6: A delegate from another nation has, embarrassingly in a private chat with a fellow delegate caught on microphone, insulted your nation in gruesome ways. What is your nation's reaction?

Do nothing except look askance at their government who, probably in embarrassment, would handle it by withdrawing the delegate themselves. Later, lots of demeaning jokes about that country would likely become a fad and the latest topic on Jay Leno's Tonight Show and comedians everywhere.

7: In the middle of your legislature's meeting, your nation's highest leader has just been publicly and verbally mocked by a legislator who is angry with said leader's policies. What is your nation's reaction?

There would be no national reaction. The leader is used to getting mocked (and praised and adored by all kinds of people wanting all kinds of things).

8: A young notorious anarchist on a video hosting site has just uploaded a video depicting themself burning your nations flag, before quite liberally spitting and insulting it. What is your nation's reaction?

We allow flag-burning and freedom of speech, though we probably would not think so kindly of that person and pizza places might be REAL slow in delivering his next pizza order. That is up to the individual business owners, of course.

Since the government is a real democracy, it would probably shift its politics as result of this, seeing that the opinions of people were changed.

Negotiate for the status of a favored trading partner so private citizens/enterpreneurs can import it.

Not a government reaction, but imagine the anger of billions of hackers whos caffeine supply is threatened. The other nation will probably quickly get rid of siad pirates without the HURDish government doing anything.

None, seeing that the HURD is a direct democracy, this happens. If rms is in a bad mood, it might become a flamewar, but this too is nothing too unusual.

If the video site is using proprietary formats, it'd e an issue, but the act itself is perfectly okay.

We would investigate exactly what about the information was causing the feelings of dissidence, and step up Ordinator patrols around Renaissance. It's not termed an 'underground citadel' for nothing, after all. Aside from this, we would also examine the source of the leak and advise them against such an event happening again.

.367 diplomacy would be used, as it always has with NPC neighbors whenever they decide to do things against Ramsetia's interests. It's not an assassination, it's 'aggressive manipulation'

Considering most of our freight is shipped in lighter-than-air vessels, these pirates would have to have some form of flying machine capable of making contact, I.E. A helicopter, probably sealed and capable of high-altitude flight. In which case, it's rather obvious that there is someone funding these people. RIDE infiltration and investigation would follow.

Assuming it's ocean traffic that has been pirated, then a RAID silencer team would mercilessly hunt down and slaughter the pirate group, with or without the foreign government's knowledge or permission.

Set up an overwatch, likely with an AWACs unit, and attempt communication with the ship. Should long-range communication be impossible, prepare a boarding craft flying a white flag and with the weapons visibly removed, as a diplomatic gesture. If the ship proves hostile, break out the Anti-Shipping missiles.

Assuming that the group has somehow managed to sabotage air filtration systems, or smuggle the bioweapon inside the caverns housing renaissance, then RAID bioweapon countermeasure units would be used to secure and quarantine the infected. Developing an antibody comes first to limit deaths in the wake of the attack.

As for the nation who attacked, monitor the situation and increase intelligence agency presence in the region. Should the group who made the attack surface for any reason, wholesale slaughter of the group is mandated. Should there be profit in doing so, re-establishing order in the nation could be useful.

A diplomatic visit to the man or woman, in private, in order to learn of why the diplomat has insulted Ramsetia in such a way. Depending on the findings, any number of outcomes may occur.

Well i guess you are tring to refer to me....
1. We inform all the nations sending there delegate to our nations, that "they HAVE to abide by the law of Great Nepal and not doing so will be punished by law of Great Nepal" so it is acceptable to punish foreign delegate according to our law.
2. Nuking or damaging our nation means that they want there destruction. We cant sit by and see any one harming our nation and its citizens.

I hope you got your answers.
