Gas/petrol/service stations in YN

Postby Greater Vancouver » Sat Sep 23, 2017 5:29 pm

The top five largest chains of service stations in Vancouver are;

1. Chevron (operates as Chevron, Caltex, Standard, and Texaco, most Caltex and Texaco stations were former Petro-Canada stations before independence)

Image

2. Royal Dutch Shell (operates as Shell)

3. Imperial Oil (operates as Esso)

4. Husky Energy (operates as Husky)

5. Phillips 66 (operates as Conoco and Jet)

By law, petroleum companies that want to do business in Vancouver are required to put electric car charging points in at least 50% of their service stations in Vancouver. This is to encourage the use of electric cars, as well as to reduce the environmental footprint of the petroleum industry.

Energy is a state owned chain of petrol stations which licenses its operations out to individual workers co-operatives in exchange for a cut of the profits (usually around 25%). These co-operatives are free to set their own hours, decide prices (to a point), decide which items to stock in their shops, and so on.

Most of the market is controlled by one service chain- Xīběi ránliào (Northwest fuel), which is owned by government.
Not really planning to use this nation for F7 posting and RP, I just did a small makeover for its new role.

Basically what they have in the UK (no Tinhamptonian has ever founded an oil company, at least in Tinhampton). Tinhampton Gateway motorway services excepted, they mostly look like the kind you expect to find nestled away in the centre of a small town due to space and what have you.

Petrol engines are not used in Blodrike because we have no oil. For short to medium trips, we use horse-drawn carriages. So service stations provide food and water for horses, and for drivers. Trains and zeppelins are used for longer trips.

The DGES uses our own form of oil. Chevron, Texaco, and the other gas stations that democracies typically know of are non-existent here.

Our two largest oil companies are Standard Oil of Fatatatutti which sells gasoline under the SO brand, and PetroFat, which sells gasoline under the PetroFat brand. There are also a number of smaller, often fly-by-night, companies that resell products made by the SO and PetroFat refineries.

Recently we have been getting complaints, mostly from tourists, about "counterfeit" gas stations that often fill your tank with rum instead of gasoline. While your car will run on Fatatatutian rum, you won't get the same performance because the octane rating is lower. However, it is cheaper, so it's possible to get a bargain. (Mind you, the typical Fatatatutian car has a 500cc engine, so we don't expect much performance anyway.)

Since we don't use fossil fuels anymore, gas stations have shut down. We have solely Anollasian fuel stations nowadays, such as Greenco and Enerfuel. Greenco and Enerfuel have electric recharging stations and hydrogen fuel.

We have no gas stations like you might find on a place such as pre-Invasion Earth; as sapient beings, we want to have a better experience than you'd get from pulling up to a non-sapient machine and having it literally pump fuel into you.

If you bring a gas-using vehicle to Cybertron, you'll therefore want to stop at a Quick Drink to fill up. These establishments are actually restaurants that typically take the appearance of diners, but instead of bio-compatible food, they serve Energon. That said, you'll have to be very careful if you're the size of a human, especially in the often-rough Quick Drinks. Tiny biologicals and their almost-as-tiny vehicles are easy to grab up and resell - the drivers and passengers to a slaver, and the vehicles to a foundry as a bit of scrap.

You can also get Energon by trading raw (or at least less-refined) resources at an official Raid Dropoff Point. This is the best option if you want to get a lot of Cubes instead of just what it'd take for a single fill-up. Since Energon is also our money, it's a good idea to get a decent amount - we have no typical "currency exchange" options. You'll be stuck paying the Raid Tax at these trading points, but they tend to be safer. They're also less likely to defraud you.

If you're looking for massive quantities of Energon, stop by a Megatron Energon refinery. They will accept your bulk quantities of small packs, say Cube-sized, and give you an even-up trade for the same quantity in bulk packaging. Typical bulk sizes include 10,000 and 100,000-Cube containers. The latter are usually used by individuals for buying houses and other high-priced items. (Even if you don't need nearly that much, be sure to stop by the Main Refinery as it is a national landmark worth seeing!)

If you want top-grade Energon (referred to as Energon Supreme), go to a fine restaurant. You'll get excellent service as well as Supreme delivered to your vehicle. Despite the upscale surroundings, expect the serving container to be something makeshift such as an eyedropper. Our restaurants are used to serving large glasses of Energon to Decepticons who stand 80-100 feet tall, not tiny little bio-sized spacecraft. As a bonus, you are unlikely to encounter violence while inside a good restaurant or even coming back out. Those who get their Energon here are too rich to be interested in snatching you because your and your ship's cash value is paltry compared to what's already in their vaults.

Notes: Never bring a car to Decepticon-controlled territories. You'll be blasted on sight for being a potential Autobot despite them having been driven to extinction many years ago. We still don't take any chances!

Also, all of our restaurants serve Energon instead of biomass. At some, you may see an expanded selection - namely one that includes antifreeze/anti-boil, oil additive, and hydraulic fluid! If you can't drink any of that, the restaurants will only be good for your vehicle and not for you.

There are no "convenience store snacks" here for you tourists. If you want bio-compatible food, water, or anything like that, you have to bring it from home!

BUZOL (БУЗОЛ) is still by far the largest Gas and Petrol provider in Buzkastan. The majority is owned by the state.

BP, Q8, SHELL and Gazprom Neft also have presences within Buzkastan.

4.9% of the economy in The South Falls is state owned. This 4.9% comes entirely from the state-owned oil and service station company, Venetlat. This is because of their exceeding supply quantity and the 1978 STOP-V Compromise, in which the State owned the oil, while the businessmen got a 5% cut for supplying the workers, who are paid 18 Credit-Bills per hour for their work, and higher from there.

The largest gas provider in Atlantis is the Atlantean Petrol Corporation. Originally founded as the state-run Atlantean Petroleum Company in order to exploit Atlantis' vast oil resources, it is now a 30:70 public-private enterprise, meaning the government owns 30% of the company, and the remaining 70% is owned by private enterprise. Its gas chains include Pegasus, its flagship chain, Ryder, a once-separately owned gas chain, and Triton, another once-separately owned gas chain.

Shell, Chevron, Texaco and, for some reason, Cosmo, have a presence in Atlantis.

Uses certain NS stats.

Atlantis is an MT nation that is the third richest country in the world, behind only China and the United States. It is closer to the USA, UK, Italy and Spain (in that order, though Italy and Spain is probably tied) culturally than it is Greece. It is also a naval power.

And no, Atlantis is not underwater: It has a land area around the size of France.

Pros: Classical liberalism, democracy, the West, Brexit, Viktor Orban, free education, strong military
Cons: Authoritarianism, fascism, communism, multiculturalism, Islamism
