Albali, officially the Albali Republic (Vabariik Albali) or more commonly known as Epsilon Aquarii, is a federal semi-presidential republic composed of 16 states, four federal districts and various possessions. Albali is considered one of the Milky Way's economic superpowers. The Republic was created from the Kingdom of Albali on 14 April 2017, however the Constitution of the Alblali Republic was officially ratified by all chambers of the government on 6 July, 2017. The executive branch of the government has two leaders: the President of the Republic, currently Astela Jouko Valbe, who is the Republic's head of state and is elected directly by universal adult suffrage for a 5-year term, and the Government, led by the president-appointed Prime Minister (currently Rhios Theon Aavik).

Y'all can now ask questions about any of my puppets, not just the Republic itself; questions can be asked IC'ly or OOC'ly, I don't have any preference; IC questions will be answered by the leader of the country they are aimed towards, and OOC questions will be answered by myself. Questions can be asked about absolutely anything - characters, architecture, you name it. Just remember - there is no such thing as a stupid question save for the one that is asked more than once.

Kenmoria wrote:"How far has The Albali Republic travelled into space?"

"Well, the Republic as a country owns space that includes the Milky Way's Perseus Arm, the Outer Arm and a few other minor arms and spurs around there. However, Albalians have travelled all across the Milky Way because we have neighbouring countries whom we mostly have good relations with. Explorers have tried to travel out of the Milky Way, but we never hear of those people again."

"I haven't had enough time to get familiar with your country, and neither have my people; from what I've had the chance to learn about thus far, it seems like a pleasant place to live. I can't speak for my people though, I'm afraid."

President Ma Jingyuan.

"The most popular book really depends on what area of the country you refer to and whom you ask. However, if you've just going off total sales throughout the entire country, then it would be a book called 'Gone in the Snow' which is an adventure book from the perspective of an explorer who loses his expedition team and has to fend for himself for eight months. It's a fantastic read.

Your country doesn't seem too bad, honestly; you look after the environment and you have free press. I disagree with a couple of things, like socialism in general, but I'm not going to interfere with it. Your country works, so keep it up.

Renewable energy is used extensively, but only on planets where there are large population centres. On planets whose sole purpose is to be mined for resources and for testing grounds, we use whatever energy we need to because of the lower price."

If an Aquariian was to meet a human what would be the general reaction to seeing someone like them but different in certain aspects?

What would be some of the Republic's major industries?

What would you say the Republic is most known for?

What's the food in The Albali Republic like? Uhm, how do overseas people generalise people in Albali? (hard-working, lazy, too serious, too easygoing, etc)

What is the prominent/popular form of architecture in the Republic, nationwide?

How does the Republic view the Empire?

How do Republic citizens treat non-Human species who are sentient?

What is the most common mode of transportation in the Republic?

They would be pretty astounded, though they're actually somewhat used to it since something like that has happened before. They'd definitely want to learn more about the humans, like what they evolved from, that sort of thing.

The manufacturing of civilian spaceships and vehicles is a pretty big one; since the Republic covers a portion of the Milky Way, people need to be able to travel from planet to planet without relying on the governments to provide the transport for it. Arms manufacturing is also quite big.

The Republic is known for quite a few things. If we're talking about right now, it'd be best known for the massive civil war that actually created the Republic. More generally, it's pretty well-known for its food, drink and general culture.

Westwickport wrote:What's the food in The Albali Republic like? Uhm, how do overseas people generalise people in Albali? (hard-working, lazy, too serious, too easygoing, etc)

The food is mostly made up of meat, since the two main species of the Republic were carnivorous once upon a time, and they still do prefer meat to most other things. That's not to say veggies and fruit are ignored, but they're usually put on the side of the main dishes. A common stereotype for the people of Albali is that they're hard-working and organised because they have a culture of workers and merit. Being accepted isn't about where you're from, it's simply about if you work hard. Slackers don't get many friends.

The Republic includes a mixture of architectural styles, especially on the two homeworlds. On the homeworlds, you have styles similar to Roman/Greek architecture, you have some "Victorian" architecture as well. Most buildings now, especially those newly-constructed, are usually done in a modernist or postmodernist style. Neomodernism and neofuturism are also really big styles in inner city areas.

The Republic's people don't like the Empire's internal politics, but they do like the country itself. They like how many rights the Empire's people are given.

Like I said above, the citizens of the Republic don't care what nationality you are or what country you're from; all they really care about is if you work hard. There might be some tension initially if the species in question has only just been discovered, but that usually disappears after a year or two.

The maglev train network is the most common means of transport in cities, though electric cars are used where no maglev network exists, such as on newly-colonised planets or rural areas.

The following is on a piece of clean white paper, with a clear crease across the middle. The writing, done with a black ballpoint, states the following.

“To Whom it may concern
If you don’t mind, I have but a few questions for the Albanians Republic, those being:
1) Is anyone in your government a fan of crumbcakes? If so, maybe we could figure out a way to send a couple over.
2) What’s your opinion on our nation’s overseer?
3) Any comments on our nation in general? Whether it be our history or the predicament we are currently in?
-Sincerely
Jim Mirosev, head baker at General Dessert Meals.”

"Well, I like crumbcakes. I don't know about anyone else though; It's never come up in conversation. I would loveit if you'd send some over though! So, the Overseer, I think is pretty cool. He's completely okay with me. As for that... uh, predicament', well, it certainly sucks. I'd recommend treading lightly so you don't offend anyone."

"Well... uh... mostly. See, a lot of my synthetic stuff is in my upper chest since that area of my body just got annihilated, but I've got a few bits and pieces in my upper back too. Nothing really takes up a lot of space though; that's just how big my chest always was. Take that information as you will."

"It's great to see that the country is recovering from that radioactive business. I think it could be one of the most beautiful places ever, once everything gets cleaned up. As for your leaders... Kazimir is fine; I can't really blame him for his colourful personality, after everything that's happened. I respect Feodora, but she could be a bit more assertive."

Normally, the Supreme Overlady of All Reality would handle this. However, due to recent events, I will be taking her place in this inquiry.

1. What is your opinion of Kyoki Chudoku?
2. What is your opinion on the Supreme Overlady of All Reality?
3. What is your opinion on nekofication?
4. Related to the above, what is your opinion on our tenshi?
5. Finally, if offered a free cookie, would you accept?

I hope that you are able to answer these questions as soon as possible.

"Not to be rude, but I don't like Kyoki Chudoku nor the Overlady. I get that authoritarianism works sometimes, but there is such a thing as having too much of it. Like ice cream. It would really do some good for everyone if Chiyumi calmed down a lot; I certainly don't want to get close to her as she is, and she could use a few more friends. Nekofication sounds rather brutal, too... I mean, in Albali we could have the same result basically painlessly and with complete safety. Theoretically, anyway. I have the same view on tenshification; magic does seem like a cool trade-off though, but the fact that some people are forced to do it makes me uneasy. More so, that is. And finally, I would accept that cookie if there was no hydrogen cyanide in it."

1. What type of FTL is used by Albali?
2. Since you have plasma based weapons why do you have a rail gun?
3. For Astela, with your injury and the cybernetics does it still/does hurt to move in certain directions?

Earth is the exact same as it is at this very moment; things going on in Albali (IC) are going on at the same time as everything on Earth is happening. As for inspiration, I'd say it's from a number of things - Halo definitely inspires the military, Central and Eastern Europe inspires the language, tech is from all over the place... you know, et cetera.

"I don't know the specifics of how FTL works, but I know it's something to do with distorting time around the spacecraft, rather than actually making it move extremely quickly." OOC - It's basically this.
"We use railguns for a few reasons - one, its capability to punch through armour is exceptional, and given its smaller size, lower weight and cost compared to other anti-armour weapons, it makes sense to use them. Two, they're less visible on the battlefield, so it allows for greater stealth and the operator won't be singled out as quickly in a firefight. And my injury.. well, occasionally I get some pretty sharp pains in my chest and my shoulder; I'm pretty sure it's because I've still got some tiny needle shards in my body, but the pain doesn't last that long."

OOC: have the Albalians canonically made contact with Earth? I know you've said in the past all events in Albali are taking place now, but I'm not sure whether humans actually know whether you exist or not...

No, they haven't. They know Earth is there and that humans exist, because they have a small naval base on Pluto. Literally the only reason the Albalians haven't been discovered by humanity there is a matter of absolute luck.

Since you didn't put it in quote marks or use a character, I'll answer this OOC. Personally, I'm not to fond of either the country of the president; you know, the whole 'remove gays' thing mainly. However, the different version of chess is actually really interesting.

"Albali has been in space, technically, since 4,351 BCE when we sent our first satellite into space. However, we've been a true spacefaring nation since around 3900 BCE, under what was known as the Aquariian Empire. Regarding mass cloning, well, it's a controversial issue. You see, the cloning of tissue, organs, et cetera from a person's cells and biological information is common and very much accepted, but the divide comes in on whether we should be cloning people themselves. Every time there's a big scientific effort to get it going? Fireworks."

"Well, it depends on how xenophobic these civilisation are. If it's mild, we can build an embassy and try to gradually change their opinions over time. If it gets more serious, then we usually won't bother. We won't do anything bad either, just leave them alone. If there's a civilisation so xenophobic to the point of murder, then Albali does what it needs to do to ensure the security of the country. We've done that a few times in the past. Now, onto your country. I really admire how you use carbon to fuel your economy, but you've got to have some other industries, no? After all, if you only mine diamonds then the prices will plummet and boom, no more economy. As for what could be done better? I'd suggest reducing your military; it has to be expensive maintaining it."
