Ceflanian Meteorologists have been tracking Tropical Storm Alex's movements since September 10, watching it slowly moving across the Atlantic. The Ministry of Weather has now issued a hurricane warning to the provinces of Isola, Priscez, Downcrane Island, and Kyba due to Alex's upgrade to a Category 1 hurricane. The last hurricane that hit Ceflania was two months ago, Hurricane Zara, officially starting over the alphabetical naming, only the third time to happen in Ceflania's modern history. At the moment, Hurricane Alex's path is unclear, but Ceflanian meteorologists predict it will head northwest, directly hitting Isola, Priscez, Downcrane Island, and lower Kyba, then continuing onward towards the Mexican coastline. While there are no current mandatory evacuations, but the provincial governments are on alert. Daniel Monte, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated earlier today in a press conference that, "...all construction of consulates in the provinces of Alcombay Islands, Kyba, Downcrane Island, Priscez, and Isola will be halted until after Alex passes through." CBC News will update you again once we have more word on Hurricane Alex.

Hurricane Alex Scrapes Past Ceflania

Article By: Grant Gotz
Bay City, Isola Province
7:51 PM EST

Two days ago when Tropical Storm Alex was upgraded to a Category 1 Hurricane, Ceflanian Meteorologists predicted the path of Hurricane Alex. They predicted it would directly go through the provinces of Isola, Priscez, Downcrane Island, and Kyba, with hurricane warnings issued for those provinces. Now with Alex moving past, only lower Isola, Priscez, and Downcrane Island were hit with minor side affects, including high winds and 5+ inches of rain. There have only been reports of thirteen minor injuries, mainly due to car crashes while driving through the winds. Hurricane Alex is now predicted to head west and make direct landfall in Mexico on Saturday. The Ceflanian Distaster Relief Department (a sub-department of the Ministry of Health) has sent out 100 of its staffers down to the affected provinces to assess the damage and provide clean water and food to those who were affected. The provincial governments estimated that $900,000 worth of damage across the three provinces. Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Monte issued a statement earlier today saying, "...I have lifted the halt on the construction of consulates in the provinces of Alcombay Islands, Kyba, Downcrane Island, Priscez, and Isola." While Hurricane Alex isn't the only news today, there is news circulating about the next election, but we will talk about that later once it is confirmed.
