First created over 4000 years ago by early !Romance peoples, the Sudivite culture stood out from the rest. A different migration path had led the Carcosse people to the same region. Several great civilizations were built in the region, mainly around its river valleys. Proto-Fiorentines did not contact either of the civilizations in the region or their neighbors until the 1st century CE, when Fiorentine merchants and traders began a large presence in the region. The various Sudivite states were more inclined to enjoy good relations with the Fiorentines, but the Carcosse tribunal nations were not so. In 87 CE several Fiorentine diplomats and traders were killed by soldier-supported crowds in the Carcosse city of Ghazo. The Tribunal See of Ghazo then became hostile with the empire backed Sudivites. After a short but brutal war the Sudivite people won control over Ghazo and it's allies. Many deals of trade and support against barbarians from the north were made with the empire and in 160 CE, the Fiorentines fully annexed the entirety of modern-day Sudivestru in one gulp.

Control over the area was difficult for the Fiorentines. Constant rebellion and attack from violent tribes weakened the nation's frontier on a daily basis. In 208 CE, the Fiorentines abandoned the northern line in Sudivestru and left the Carcosse to fend for themselves. However a large Sudivite-based revolution in 219 forced the Fiorentine empire out of the area temporarily. Their legions were weakened, fleeing south into Aquidneck and the Midrasian lands. Unfortunately, by 225 CE the majority of Carcosse states had been defeated by barbaric tribes hailing from West Catai and East Asura. A desperate series of wars and defensive lines marked the next 50 years, and in 269 the last actual Sudivite kingdom fell. This led to a Fiorentine invason in 272, which succeeded in forcing the tribes of pillaging warriors further north to modern Vvarden. Both Sudivite and Carcosse were subjagated until 410 when they rose up and seceded into small independent kingdoms. It would remain this way, relatively peaceful, throughout the Dark ages. Alydianism became the most common religion among Sudivites, and many Carcosse. These religious disputes however led to some violent warring in the 10th and 11th centuries. Unity of the modern Sudivestran region was never considered once in the turbulent 1200s and 1300s. This allowed Aquidish influence to grow, with the Duke Romero successfully taking over control of two dynastic kingdoms in both Sudivite and Carcosse ethnic areas. They unified, but Romero was stabbed to death 2 years later and the kingdom ceased.

A new period of history had been entered, with unification of kingdoms becoming a hot topic in royal courts and among the people etc., history will be continued.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): A large West Asuran power in the same way Carc was. Strong economy and medium but skilled military.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Less pop and economic power.

A violent shootout in downtown Jaffika last night has resulted in 9 tragic deaths and over 50 injured persons. The conflicts included three different factions of which were police and two large gangs, several police were injured with one casualty, while 8 gang members died during the battle on Tesekka Street. After the shootout around 20 people, mainly criminal fighters, were hospitalized with major injuries, while in the next few hours, Sandri Pahvakil Memorial Hospital faced around 30 more persons with minor to moderate wounds, primarily gunshots or stabbings. Police fenced off a large portion of Tesekka Street after the last gang shooters were subdued around 10:40 PM. My country isn't that powerful. I can lower the population and economic size if you want. My country's political system is an elective monarchy. Monarch is elected by the parliament, which in turn is elected by the people. Monarch is the head of state but has political control until his death, and the prime minister is more of a figurehead. A violent shootout in downtown Jaffika last night has resulted in 9 tragic deaths and over 50 injured persons. The conflicts included three different factions of which were police and two large gangs, several police were injured with one casualty, while 8 gang members died during the battle on Tesekka Street. After the shootout around 20 people, mainly criminal fighters, were hospitalized with major injuries, while in the next few hours, Sandri Pahvakil Memorial Hospital faced around 30 more persons with minor to moderate wounds, primarily gunshots or stabbings. Police fenced off a large portion of Tesekka Street after the last gang shooters were subdued around 10:40 PM. Over 70 police officers were called to the scene of the fight soon after it began at 9:55 PM.
The battle reportedly started when a drive-by shooting went wrong after a vehicle crashed on Ollakomme Drive after the driver shot and injured one rival gang member around 9:40 PM. The driver was dragged out of his car and stabbed to death by members of the gang known as the Palm Sharks who had control over Ollakomme Drive and that part of Tesekka Street. Police were called to a murder scene several minutes later and a three-way fight erupted when Palm Shark, police and the MGH terror and crime group who attempted the drive by shooting. By 10:20 PM, 7 were dead and 46 injured, after a heated gunfight which spilled onto Tesekka Street around 10:05 PM.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the original drive-by attack committed by the Central Reclamation Army (MGH). The two groups have been rivals for control over Tesekka St. for over a decade, as the street has large capacity for narcotics manufacturing and dealing. Opium, meth, cocaine are all frequent finds in Tesekka street's towering buildings.
A large funeral has been organized for the policeman who was shot dead yesterday. The Mayor of Jaffika, Phavi Kovrisah, has said; "We give our hearts out to the brave police officers combating these sickening criminal activities and groups. We hope that the officer killed is exalted in the Afterlife for his bravery and sacrifice. We are working to fight crime as much as possible in the city, and the Council is constantly toiling for a better, brighter future in Jaffika."

Kealakeua suffers as a small nation with an accordingly small military, and also is a threat from the many volcanos that dot the islands making it prone to natural disasters caused by active volcanos or earthquakes. The country is however quite rich from the many zinc, nickel and lead deposits of the islands which play a major part of its economy- the country also shares good trade relations with its neighbors in Kelenoa and Ajerrin.

The Ausitorians have chosen the worst possible way to launch their treacherous attack on the glorious Kombinat. Their Kraken was, for all purposes, an utterly impractical craft; one that was nothing else than a prey for the gracious and fast Nifonese built fighters that were delivered due to an agreement between the two nations. Their sole use was due to long range permitted by WIG mode - but in every other area, they were vastly inferior to classical aircraft.

The treacherous attack was quickly detected by an OTH radar network operated by the Kombinate, which in turn notified appropriate units. The response was quickly organized. In general, SOP of Kombinat's forces always called for the vast majority of radars to switch positions every 10 hours and keep inactive until an engagement. Because of the haste the Aestorian attack was organized with, the vast majority of their intelligence was false.

With the threat approaching, aircraft from the 3rd Squadron, Capital Air Defense Region, 4th Squadron, Capital Air Defense Region, 9th Squadron, Capital Air Defense Region and the 2nd Squadron, Dai Phuong Imperial Capitol Contingent were being scrambled immediately. The 3rd and 4th squadrons were en-route to intercept the enemy threat at the coast, while the 2nd Squadron or the 9th Squadron were sent to perform a combat air-patrol over Cicekbul in case any other enemy aircraft would come to interfere in the operation.

Five AWACs aircraft, two of them being Boeing 707s equipped with EL/M-2075 L-Band radars which would restrict the use of more stealthier aircraft. The other two aircraft were G550 CAEW aircraft equipped with the multi-band IAI EL/W-2085 radar.

The sleek image of the Nifonese-built Tsukumo A18T Zero-Sen stealth fighter jets loomed over the city, followed by the A10T Tenrai air-superiority fighters of the 9th Squadron followed suit, peforming a combat-air patrol over the city. The Tenrais of the 3rd and 4th Squadron made a beeline for the coast to try and stop the incoming threat which had been detected by the radar station. The radiation was detected at an extremely low altitude, and thus investigation was needed to determine what kind of craft they were. One thing for sure was that they were hostile, for there was no friendly unit in that area.

The G550 CAEW aircraft, Poludnitsa, flew about the city and commanded the aircraft against the bogeys that were approaching from due east. Meanwhile, as the four AWACs aircraft flew around the city, they also alerted all the SAM and air-defense systems in the vicinity about the... issues that they would have to deal with.

The crews of the Nifonese Type-10 Ku-SAMs armed with the Su-3000 missiles got into position, ready to strike in case of encountering anything. They counted on the L-Band radars on the AWACs and other aircraft to detect any hostile stealthcraft, and the crews readied to move the system in the event of making contact with the enemy.

To the instruction of the AWACS, ground-based systems enabled their jamming systems to spoof the enemy GPS systems guiding Ausitorian missiles, driving them off course, making them sure that the target is somewhere else...

In this battle, the Kombinat would be fielding a little gift from Murakami Defense Industries - air-launched version of Su-2000 missile being part of Type 10 Ku-SAM. Due to the fact that the missile destroyed its targets via kinetic energy, a warhead was not necessary restricting the entire system just to the seeker and a three pulse motor. Reduced in weight and size, it could be carried by a fighter like it would do with a normal AAM - and this time was about to face its baptism of fire in BVR combat.

Flight leaders chose the targets and applied. Each target would receive a salvo of 3 Su-2000 missiles; traveling at speed exceeding Mach 7, too fast for Kraken's CIWS to target them, slamming into the flarecraft like a meteor. The same fate would be met with eventual "stealth fighters that would not show themselves". Due to the large area of its wing, Angel II was restricted by the forces acting upon its wings - making it forced to chose between getting a missile or tearing itself apart via hasty manoeuvre (assuming the pilot even noticed something coming at him...)

Still - the fire had its effects. While the combination of aircraft interception, SAM fire, lack of intelligence and jamming took its toll, the Ausitorians also managed to score a considerable amount of success. Though only 10% of their targets were destroyed, the battle had only just begun...

SOUTHEASTERN INDIAN OCEAN / International Waters

By now, the 2nd and 3rd Carrier Strike Groups had rendezvous in the Indian Ocean and were now in the Southeastern Indian Ocean. At any one time, two combat air patrols and two AWACs aircraft from both of the carriers flew about, providing protection and defense from the fleet from any other threats. The Nifonese-made Tenrais scanned the airspace while their AWACs equivalent scanned the skies with their radar, ensuring full protection for the fleet from any threats, especially Aestorian. Word had reached that there was some sort of attack on Cicekbul, and thus the fleet was extremely wary about anyone posing a threat to them.

Tieu Hue was on the bridge of the CS Vung Tau, liasing with the officers on the bridge.

Once again, the Eternal Father had made some rather rash decisons and it seemed as if the Combine was being pulled into international conflict once again. This time, the Combine was thankfully not going to be alone. It had been a few years since Fridumaria had signed the Treaty for Military Cooperation and Common Defense with the Combine in hopes of having two large states in a common defense pact together would strengthen their influence on a global scale. After all, with the Combine's population of 3.2 billion people the Combine was surely willing to cooperate with a fellow large state, National Socialist or not.

Tribes have walked the lands that are now Qal'eh since around 1500 BC, with evidence of several tools and fossils dating back to that era. Most notably, the Flute of Akhir, which was unearthed in 1997, has provided some insight into the culture and traditions of early Qalehi tribes.

Qal'eh was first conquered by the expansive Ardashirvan Empire in 476 BC, who destroyed many ancient relics of the tribes of Qal'eh following their conquest, while simultaneously assimilating the culture of the tribesman into a more widely-accepted culture throughout the Empire. Many modern Qalehi traditions can have their roots traced back to the Ardashirvan Empire and the culture of the nation is heavily influenced by the conquest. The caliphate introduced Irsad from Hisaristan to Qal'eh. The Caliphate was invaded by Turkic/Mongolic tribes in the 10th century CE, and in 902 the Khutsog Khanate was proclaimed. The Khanate dissolved due to internal instability a hundred years later, and fractured into many successor states. The largest successor state, Assadia, led by Muridin Emir Imrah I, reconquered the shattered realm between 1024 and 1026 in a series of conflicts now known as Imrah's Conquests. Modern-day Qal'eh unified around 200 years after the Assadian Caliphate ceased to exist in 1617, when the three powers in the region agreed to unite into a singular nation under Shahanshah Amin Rouhani, the first of to bear the title in the region for almost a thousand years. Qal'eh is a very cultured nation, with its populace enjoying art, music, fashion among many other things. Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): The Kyuwa Clique is a military junta controlled by the Far Eastern White Regiments. During the mid 17th Century after conquering the various Mongol states and signing treaties the !Russian Empire had established control over the Far East. It began to offer land grants and settlers from Catai began pouring in. With the decline of Ashihara many Ashiharan settlers settled the Far East, and a large Ashiharan Community began developing. This Ashiharan Community grew rapidly with many Ashiharan land owners preferring to import Ashiharan labor then use native Turkic labour, often more rebellious, and many seeing it as a way to make a quick fortune with the decline of Ashihara. The Ashiharan ethnic community developed many nationalist societies as tensions with the !Russian Empire grew. The South would be made up of plains, with plenty of arable land coming from the various river systems. The climate has extreme seasonal contrasts with hot humid summers, and dry cold winters, due to it's position between the vast Jade Ocean and the Cataian landmass. The North is made up of steepe, forest, and mountains. The climate is cold and dry in the winter, with mild summers.

The economy has been struggling integrating the ex-communist territories however growth is picking up. It would be a rising power in Aeia, and one of the major military powers in Eastern Catai, however weak on the international scene.

The FSR would divide the state during GW2 taking the West, but it would be reunified in the Hisari Wars. Today it is controlled by the military and zaibatsus, with an unequal economy based on primary industries and manufacturing.

Geography and climate of nation: The geography and climate differs heavily between the north and south. The South would be made up of plains, with plenty of arable land coming from the various river systems. The climate has extreme seasonal contrasts with hot humid summers, and dry cold winters, due to it's position between the vast Jade Ocean and the Cataian landmass. The North is made up of steepe, forest, and mountains. The climate is cold and dry in the winter, with mild summers.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): It would have a strong army in the region, with a militaristic posture. The economy has been struggling integrating the ex-communist territories however growth is picking up. It would be a rising power in Aeia, and one of the major military powers in Eastern Catai, however weak on the international scene.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: I'd be willing to reduce the GDP per capita

Additionally, the FSR has been changed significantly towards an Asuran concept rather than an outright analogue to the USSR and it is unlikely it would hold land in what was previously eastern Vynozhia.

Geography and climate of nation: Southwestern and Transcandarian regions more sparesly populated and mountainous, while the western and northern parts are more grasslands. The north is more forested but the East is the most populated portion of the country. South is more arid.

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): The territory that today comprises the Mawusi (except for the Berbier Corridor) was initially colonized by Midrasia in (year?) and named the Majulan Territory of Bruneays. The colony was mainly for the exploration of natural latex and cocoa. Following its southern neighbor, a revolution pro independence uprose in Mawusi, which became independent from Midrasia in 1952. After independence, the Nation was named the Central Majulan Republic. In 1954, the Berbier corridor, which was made a buffer zone during the war against Kagon and Marensoald, was ceded to the CMR in order to properly end/control the conflicts in the region. In the early 1969, the first General President Camille Zahur died, which created chaos and political instability. After two years of the Presidents death, Aurélien Siwazuri, a communist leader and general, took over the power. 4 years after Siwazuri, a clash between civilians and armed forces happen in Nambabi, which results in 7 civilian brutally executed and the beginning of a civil war. Of course, this will need to be worked out between a suitable and willing resident nation.

I have intentionally left the history and geography largely undeveloped for this nation so it can be easily weaved into the existing lore of the region.

Geography and climate of nation: Will be further developed with map claim, but I would like a mountainous area which gives way to rolling hills which cover the vast majority of the country. Bogland will also make up a small but significant percentage, and about 12-15% of the country will be forested. A significant coastline is also desired so a large peninsula would be ideal for Inish Eola. Desired climate would be temperate oceanic akin to the British Isles or Brittany & Normandy but I'm very open to change here.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
Inish Eola will be a minor power within its own region, with strengths in areas of public management and efficiency of government (due to high degree of monarchical power), but a countering degree of nepotism, cronyism, and slight corruption that also comes with that high degree of centralized power. The nation's economic power will come from a diversified private industry base with big names in furniture, auto-industry, weapons, and ships.

In military terms, the nation's strength will be in its navy. National service is in place, with all able bodies not enrolled in third level education eligible for the draft. The armed forces will stand at an active service number of 110,000, and a reserve forces number of 250,000.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
By scaling back the strength of industry and lowering the numbers of armed forces.

Greetings. I'm not one of the mods nor am I on the sign up panel, but I just wanted to provide you some info on the status of Celtic nations in Aeia (since i run one of them)
If you plan on being mainland European and Celtic, I'm afraid there is little to no space left. Mardin Islands, tir Lhaeriadd and myself are all Celtic (Irish, Irish-Welsh and conculture derived from Irish respectively), and a small section of western Midrasia is Breton. This is the current extent of the Celtic world (other than several island colonies), and unfortunately there is no more space in western Asura(not!Europe) for a Celtic nation.
Where does this leave you? Well, I have a few options.
1) Colony. Either myself or tL could have colonized your nation and passed on Celtic culture. Unfortunately, this removes your confederation of Celtic tribes and feudal system. If you really want to be Celtic, but dont care about the history, Id say this is your best option.
2) Islands. Making new islands in Asura is not allowed if i remember correctly, but perhaps an island chain in the north Opal(not!Atlantic) Ocean would be possible. This scenario is pretty unrealistic however, and screws up a good bit of your history, so I wouldn't recommend it, especially because of the no new Asuran islands rule.
3)Not Celtic. There are numerous open positions in central and eastern Asura, that would let you keep your feudal history, but would most likely make a Celtic culture impossible. The Celts are fairly far from the open spaces in Asura, and cut off by several hostile nations that make it unrealistic for any kind of migration to the east. If you want to keep the history but not the culture, this is the choice I'd recommend.
So, there are still opportunities for you to be a celtic or a feudal nation, but it requires sacrificing other parts of your nation. Timarbia's origins are in the ancient colony of Taymna-ma3rba. The colony was founded by traders of the State of Farikia (today in southern Romellea), which had founded trading colonies in various locations across the Asur Sea. The traders, blown far off course through the Strait of Troping, believed themselves to be in what is today Araabyne, and named the land for its position relative to Farikia, "Southwest land". Over time, Taymna-ma3rba (the name evolving into Timma3rba) would develop into a small empire along the northern Arabekhi coast, but eventually fell to Fiorentine armies in 26 BCE. Timarbia would remain under consistent, stable Fiorentine rule until the collapse of the empire, when a new Timarbi Kingdom would be proclaimed in Minnara. The new kingdom would control a significant part of northern Arabekh that was once held by the Fiorentines, though would lose much of its eastern territories to the Irsadic Caliphate in the early middle ages. The state only survived complete conquest by submitting to the Caliphate as a tributary state. The Arabekhi crusades would drive the Caliphate out of northern Arabekh and back into Majula, ending the relationship between the two nations but leaving a sizeable Gheiravic minority in the southeast.

Even into the 19th Century, little modernization occurred within Timarbia, the nation still remaining mostly feudal. It was because of this that when the Scramble for Arabekh occurred, Timarbia was easily overrun by Asuran armies and forced into protectorate status under the Kingdom of Cuirpthe. Asuran influence would lead to industrialization and modernization, particularly in major coastal cities. When Cuirpthe fell in the Great War, Timarbia would be given through treaty to another Asuran power (not very important who it is). Central Timarbia is dominated by large mountains and the vast majority of the nation is filled with deserts. The majority of the population lives along the coasts, especially the fertile north. It specializes in agricultural and manufactured exports, and has the resources needed to sustain this pretty easily. Militarily, its not very powerful, but is strong enough to defend its own borders and project its power in the region when needed.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Probably weaken the military or economy, or perhaps lower the population.

Early 1800s: Growing kingdom opens up trade to Asura and Majula. The small Qalehi states are driven out of Kuzago.
1865: The War of Kingdoms: The 5 largest kingdoms race to control the small Duchy of Sirahsa after it's duke dies. A 3 year war ends with Misthanelgrad as the victor. King Ozidy V becomes Ozidy I of Zilovia. By 1870, the last small states are conquered.
1870-1890: Second golden age in Zilovia. Society and conditions improve greatly and modernized technologies and ideas are introduced.
1894: Anti-Asuran military officers topple Ozidy I in a coup after he agreed to sign Zilovia into the Grand Alliance. The Grand Republic of Zilovia is formed, and it aligns with the Concordat.
1895-1899: Zilovia fights in the great war with the Concordat. At the end of the war a harsh treaty is forced onto Zilovia. In 1900 Ozidy I returns to the throne, but dies 7 months later. Since both of his sons were killed in the war, his daughter declares herself Queen Katerina I, but many who don't believe a woman should rule riot. Katerina promises a parliament of elected officials, which is formed later that year, but it then votes to remove her from the throne. She refuses and her palace is besieged. She is almost killed and flees the country in January 1902.
1902: The ((Tajik)) leader Omayed Kulah declares himself the king.
1902-1927: Omayed becomes king and transforms the nation to Irsadism. In 1927, communists kill him. In the chaos, both Irsadis and Saclvic monarchists begin to fight the communists, and by 1930 the nation has split three ways: Irsaids in Kuzago, Scalvic monarchists east of the Kolabi River, and communists east of the river. When GW2 ends the three nations remain. In 1962 Asuran backed forces invade the communist segment along with monarchists. Ozidy I's great nephew is enthroned as King Milosevic I.
1960s: The Irsadic state deteriorates economically and societally. By 1968 an invasion has begun, but it's useless. Kuzago is peacefully incorporated by 1970.

I would suggest a reduction in GDP per capita given your location. A PPP GDP of $9,862 should be acceptable, though I would advise reducing the nominal value to levels similar to IRL Africa. Otherwise, accepted.

The nation's economic power will come from a diversified private industry base with big names in furniture, auto-industry, weapons, and ships.

In military terms, the nation's strength will be in its navy. National service is in place, with all able bodies not enrolled in third level education eligible for the draft. The armed forces will stand at an active service number of 110,000, and a reserve forces number of 250,000.

Timarbia's origins are in the ancient colony of Taymna-ma3rba. The colony was founded by traders of the State of Farikia (today in southern Romellea), which had founded trading colonies in various locations across the Asur Sea. The traders, blown far off course through the Strait of Troping, believed themselves to be in what is today Araabyne, and named the land for its position relative to Farikia, "Southwest land". Over time, Taymna-ma3rba (the name evolving into Timma3rba) would develop into a small empire along the northern Arabekhi coast, but eventually fell to Fiorentine armies in 26 BCE. Timarbia would remain under consistent, stable Fiorentine rule until the collapse of the empire, when a new Timarbi Kingdom would be proclaimed in Minnara. The new kingdom would control a significant part of northern Arabekh that was once held by the Fiorentines, though would lose much of its eastern territories to the Irsadic Caliphate in the early middle ages. It specializes in agricultural and manufactured exports, and has the resources needed to sustain this pretty easily. Aicrias' early history considerably mimics that of Veleaz in its antiquity, save that Aicrias was and still is a hotspot for violence and turmoil. Geography and Climate of Nation: Very Eastern-European, where there are lots'a hills and semi-boreal forests (mostly pine and spruce). However, the topography is much flatter and more open.

Most Comparable Real-World country and Why?: Ukraine. It's the most geographically and climatically identical to Aicrias, a rather large country with a fleeting population and a hotspot for civil and political scuffles. Also used to be communist under the Soviet Union too. Only thing is that Ukraine actually still legitimately exists and isn't in a state of complete anarchy.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (Strengths/Weaknesses):

Strengths
- Plentiful natural resources and enough farmland to be self-sustainable.
- Heavy industrial base capable of churning out some serious military hardware.
- Strategically good position on the continent, forming the majority of the passage into western Catai.

Weaknesses
- Not the most stable place, prone to go to war.
- Landlocked from the ocean unless you count rivers.
- The military is... meh[, but it is up-to-date.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
I'm actually not sure, considering the country is already dead and buried and in constant turmoil.

He sits up in the seat, gazing out of the rear cab window on the driver's side.
"Stop's up here. You know what to do."

Marcus looks to Narvik's eyes for a moment's breath, before he bends down to the floor of the car, cracking his knuckles as his hands fell around the rifle tagging along with them.

It wasn't much more than a .308 hunting rifle with a simple duplex scope bolted on top, but it would only take one shot.

Anything could be deadly in the right hands.

"Remember the plan, Marcus?"
"Aye."

The automobile eased to rest, the car hidden from sight, with the bright exterior lighting of the residence up shining over the hill in front of them.

"Council favor you, brother. Don't fail me."
Marcus opens the door.
"Wait."
Narvik stares him dead in the eyes and clenches a fist over his heart.
"Don't fail me, Marcus. Don't fail us. We are all watching."
Marcus gives a minuscule nod and exits the car with the rifle in tow.

The car purred to life and accelerated away, leaving Marcus on the hillside, armed with a single .308 rifle and twenty rounds of ammunition.

He inspected the rifle as he crept up onto the slope.

Narvik had told him of Tacitus' tyranny, but Marcus knew personally already. He had been present at Arce on November 26th, 1940, there at the massacre. He lost one of his close friends from childhood in the chaos.

Now here he was, setting himself up to make history. The bloody way.

What flowed through his veins wasn't support for Narvik's cause. It wasn't greed. It was revenge.

He lays down in the frostbitten grass. The mountain's snow squalls were frequent this time of the year. He needed to be careful, and time his shot perfectly.

With a pair of binoculars, he scanned the area around the Emperor's vacation residence.

Two guys at the gate, a sniper on the roof, one there in the driveway... and a clear shot to the front door..."

He didn't like the proximity he had to the target.

A forest further up the hill perked his interest.

I can move there while it's still dark. The shot will be harder, but the cover will save me a lot of trouble...

He brushed the snow off his jacket as he got to his feet, scanning the front of the complex as he moved his position, another hundred meters back from the house.

The sun was starting to come up. The hillside was to the east, so any problems with glare were not to be of trouble. After some digging, he found his shooting hide; between a snowy evergreen tree and a half-dead shrub that curled over his resting point. It would mask his breath in the cold.

But the dusting of snow would kick up as soon as he pulled the trigger, and that wasn't even taking the muzzle flash into account.

He just had to hold his breath. Literally too.

As the snow fell on him, he waited. The sun rose higher, and the crisp winter air lost its bite. Marcus raised his rifle, giving a half-second glance of his watch.

7:44AM.

The motorcade would arrive at 8:00. At least, that was if the information was up to snuff.

He waited.

And he waited.

Snow began to fall at 7:58. A storm was rolling in.

"Shit..."

Visibility dropped until the house wasn't anything but a blur in the distance.

7:59.

The wind kicked up in his face, the chill stinging exposed skin. He inspected his scope again, wiping the condensation from his breath off the lenses so that it wouldn't freeze.

Another glance at his watch. Still 7:59.

The gales lessened as the sun rose higher and the heat warmed the ground. He could see the road clearly, but anywhere beyond that was an uncertain shot.

There it is...

The motorcade emerged from the south to his left. An intercom system within the residence blared, notifying everyone on site of their arrival.

The Imperial Guards scurried around in front of the residence. Their usual formality was gone.

Something was up.

Marcus glances at his watch and a portrait photograph of Tacitus Devon, emblazing the face in his mind, one final time.

8:00.

He wipes his scope lenses again, slowing his breathing as he stuffed a lump of snow in his mouth to hide his breath.

The motorcade had a single coupe in the middle with two jeeps on either side, flying their decor and sporting mounted machine guns. He didn't want to tangle with those.

The left passenger door opened, and out stepped a man in a neatly cropped suit.

C'mon, show me your face...

The man turned back to the security detail behind him.

It wasn't him.

"Shit..."

Another frigid gale kicked up a blast of snow in Marcus' face, blinding him for five eternal seconds. He quickly adjusted his aim towards the front door as the man came back into view at the back of the driveway.

The suited man knocked on the door.

Marcus fixed his duplex on the man's back as snow floated in front of the scope. He could barely see what he was firing at, but he had no other chances. The thought coursed through his mind;

You ready to make history, Marcus?

The door opened. Marcus' finger tightened around the trigger.

The Emperor stood right there in the front door, but his visitor obscured a body-shot.

It was either snap for a headshot or wait until he moved.

Marcus had waited long enough.

He had another second or less to adjust his angle in the blinding gale. He makes one final shift to his shot.

His heartbeat was the only thing he could hear. No wind, no cracking of branches against one another. Just the beating, like a drum of war.

Easy...

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

Thump-thump.

Thump-thump.

Thump-thump.

He fires.

With an earth-rattling boom, the 175-grain .308 bullet streaks over the hillside. The fractions of a second tick by.

C'mon, baby...

The Emperor's head snaps back in an exploding cloud of red mist as the round strikes flesh at over 2,500 feet per second.

Marcus lowers the scope from his eye with a smirk on his face. He opens his mouth as if he's about to deliver a one-liner.

"--Oh, forget it."

As chaos ensued down below, he slinked back into the brush, got to his feet, with the rifle in tow, and made his escape. Narvik told him that a car would be waiting at the road three miles east of the residence. He had a ways to go.

With the sun over the mountains and shining down on his face, he slung the rifle over his shoulder, lifted up the scarf around his neck, and pressed on further up the mountain as a blizzard shrouded him in white.

And when the gale passed, he was gone.

Their language, which has Slavic, Arabic and Persian influences in vocabulary, is an isolate language and does not belong to any known language groups. The answer to this is probably the isolation of the Vainakhs who mostly lived in mountains. They are first mentioned by Aicrias, Romellean, Chalcian, and Fiorentine historians in 5BC as a group of tribes settled around the ?lake. The first Vainakh state was actually a tribal confederation more than a true state, formed in order to repel the invasion of the Fiorentines. Vainakhs fought alongside Aicrians. The Vainakh tribal confederation pulled out of the war when the Fiorentines took upper hand in the war and retreated to the mountains, where which the Fiorentines couldn't beat them. The first Kingom of Vainakhs was formed under Bekbuzar the Great who led a conquest to unify all the tribes in the early 8th century. During the Middle Ages Vainakhs were Alydianised mostly, but a part was left un-Alydianised and remained loyal to the native religin. which was Irsadic. In 13th Century Irsad began to spread on Vainakh lands from 14th and 15th centuries. At the end of the 16th century, the vast majority of Vainakhs were Irsadic. How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Vainakhia has oil reserves and natural gas reserves, it also has a sizable agriculture. Due to war, much of its industry was destroyed but some of it was rebuilt soon afterwards. The country enjoys fairly nice salaries and is quite peaceful, although there are Irsadic extremists present in the country. The major weakness of the country is its population number, and it is one of the lowest in Asura (I think). Another weakness is the complete isolation from Aicrias (it is the only country I border atm) as a result of the lasting conflict which never officially ended. Relations with this country barely exist.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: I could lower the GDP and weaken the economy

A forest further up the hill perked his interest.

I can move there while it's still dark. The shot will be harder, but the cover will save me a lot of trouble...

He brushed the snow off his jacket as he got to his feet, scanning the front of the complex as he moved his position, another hundred meters back from the house.

The sun was starting to come up. The hillside was to the east, so any problems with glare were not to be of trouble. After some digging, he found his shooting hide; between a snowy evergreen tree and a half-dead shrub that curled over his resting point. It would mask his breath in the cold.

But the dusting of snow would kick up as soon as he pulled the trigger, and that wasn't even taking the muzzle flash into account.

He just had to hold his breath. Literally too.

As the snow fell on him, he waited. The sun rose higher, and the crisp winter air lost its bite. Marcus raised his rifle, giving a half-second glance of his watch.

7:44AM.

The motorcade would arrive at 8:00. At least, that was if the information was up to snuff.

He waited.

And he waited.

Snow began to fall at 7:58. A storm was rolling in.

"Shit..."

Visibility dropped until the house wasn't anything but a blur in the distance.

7:59.

The wind kicked up in his face, the chill stinging exposed skin. He inspected his scope again, wiping the condensation from his breath off the lenses so that it wouldn't freeze.

Another glance at his watch. Still 7:59.

The gales lessened as the sun rose higher and the heat warmed the ground. He could see the road clearly, but anywhere beyond that was an uncertain shot.

There it is...

The motorcade emerged from the south to his left. An intercom system within the residence blared, notifying everyone on site of their arrival.

The Imperial Guards scurried around in front of the residence. Their usual formality was gone.

Something was up.

Marcus glances at his watch and a portrait photograph of Tacitus Devon, emblazing the face in his mind, one final time.

8:00.

He wipes his scope lenses again, slowing his breathing as he stuffed a lump of snow in his mouth to hide his breath.

The motorcade had a single coupe in the middle with two jeeps on either side, flying their decor and sporting mounted machine guns. He didn't want to tangle with those.

The left passenger door opened, and out stepped a man in a neatly cropped suit.

C'mon, show me your face...

The man turned back to the security detail behind him.

It wasn't him.

"Shit..."

Another frigid gale kicked up a blast of snow in Marcus' face, blinding him for five eternal seconds. He quickly adjusted his aim towards the front door as the man came back into view at the back of the driveway.

The suited man knocked on the door.

Marcus fixed his duplex on the man's back as snow floated in front of the scope. He could barely see what he was firing at, but he had no other chances. The thought coursed through his mind;

You ready to make history, Marcus?

The door opened. Marcus' finger tightened around the trigger.

The Emperor stood right there in the front door, but his visitor obscured a body-shot.

It was either snap for a headshot or wait until he moved.

Marcus had waited long enough.

He had another second or less to adjust his angle in the blinding gale. He makes one final shift to his shot.

His heartbeat was the only thing he could hear. No wind, no cracking of branches against one another. Just the beating, like a drum of war.

Easy...

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

Thump-thump.

Thump-thump.

Thump-thump.

He fires.

With an earth-rattling boom, the 175-grain .308 bullet streaks over the hillside. The fractions of a second tick by.

C'mon, baby...

The Emperor's head snaps back in an exploding cloud of red mist as the round strikes flesh at over 2,500 feet per second.

Marcus lowers the scope from his eye with a smirk on his face. He opens his mouth as if he's about to deliver a one-liner.

"--Oh, forget it."

As chaos ensued down below, he slinked back into the brush, got to his feet, with the rifle in tow, and made his escape. Narvik told him that a car would be waiting at the road three miles east of the residence. He had a ways to go.

With the sun over the mountains and shining down on his face, he slung the rifle over his shoulder, lifted up the scarf around his neck, and pressed on further up the mountain as a blizzard shrouded him in white.

And when the gale passed, he was gone.

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): The Vainakh Republic (Vainakh: Вайнахйн Пачхьалкх/Vaynahyn Paçxalq) is a Semi presidental republic loceded in East Asura, bordered by Aicrias to the west.
The small nation is named after its major ethnic group, the Vainakhs. The Vainakhs are a people whose origins are still debated by scholars. Their language, which has Slavic, Arabic and Persian influences in vocabulary, is an isolate language and does not belong to any known language groups. The answer to this is probably the isolation of the Vainakhs who mostly lived in mountains. They are first mentioned by Aicrias, Romellean, Chalcian, and Fiorentine historians in 5BC as a group of tribes settled around the ?lake. The first Vainakh state was actually a tribal confederation more than a true state, formed in order to repel the invasion of the Fiorentines. Vainakhs fought alongside Aicrians. The Vainakh tribal confederation pulled out of the war when the Fiorentines took upper hand in the war and retreated to the mountains, where which the Fiorentines couldn't beat them. The first Kingom of Vainakhs was formed under Bekbuzar the Great who led a conquest to unify all the tribes in the early 8th century. During the Middle Ages Vainakhs were Alydianised mostly, but a part was left un-Alydianised and remained loyal to the native religin. which was Irsadic. In 13th Century Irsad began to spread on Vainakh lands from 14th and 15th centuries. At the end of the 16th century, the vast majority of Vainakhs were Irsadic. Imam Mukhadin along with his followers overthrew the last Alydian king of Vainakhia and proclaimed the Vainakh Imamate. The spread of Irsad, and the formation of an Irsadic theocracy in Vainakhia disturbed the lords of Aicrias and later became the main reasion of the Aicrian conquest of Vainakhia. It was led by General Aslan Bekbulatom who became the first president of Vainakhia. The overthrow of communist authorities wasn't recieved well in Aicrias and once again the two nations were at war. The conflict ended in 2001 when a ceasefire was signed and lasts still to this day. A peace treaty was never signed effectively meaning that the two de jure in a state of war.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Vainakhia has oil reserves and natural gas reserves, it also has a sizable agriculture. Due to war, much of its industry was destroyed but some of it was rebuilt soon afterwards. The country enjoys fairly nice salaries and is quite peaceful, although there are Irsadic extremists present in the country. The major weakness of the country is its population number, and it is one of the lowest in Asura (I think). Another weakness is the complete isolation from Aicrias (it is the only country I border atm) as a result of the lasting conflict which never officially ended. Relations with this country barely exist.

I would advise a slight reduction to GDP per capita given your location, though I do think because of your low population and industrial context I believe this can be offset against your neighbours. Also if there are any remaining issues over the Triskele i'm sure they could be ironed out after the fact. Accepted.
