LGBT presence in YN's government

There is a not insignificant LGBT presence in the Gandoorese government, with far too many examples to give a comprehensive list, although Beatrice Roberts, the Head of the Forum and first-in-line to the office of Prime Minister is openly lesbian and there are 103 LGBT Members of the Forum, the majority of whom are either lesbian, gay, or bisexual, with only six being transgender.

In the Japanese empire as well as it's occupied territories, being a member of any LGBT or identifying as any sort of LGBT is illegal and punished with either deportation, internal exile in China or one of the many deserted south pacific islands under Japan's control. Caius, our silver scaled minster of finance is openly gay and married by the doctrines of his religion. While my religion declares homsexuality an abomination, we co-exist and thrive together without argument accepting that everyone is open to their own beliefs so long as all are tolerant of each other. He sometimes flirts with me as a joke to my consternation, but I know to take it in good stride and do so as we are good friends and I love him in that role. One day I hope he realizes his behavior is in contradiction with the natural order, but I am open to the possibility he will not. Of course, I'm sure he disagrees with me on the natural order of things, but so is the way of things that not everyone will share the same points of view and that's a good thing.

Because the women of the nation (for unknown reasons) have a must better time understanding certain things goverment related especially when the woman is coupled with another woman.

But for real, the general consensus is that Metaux Roses is a prominent proponent for LGBT rights through policy, healthcare, refugee asylum, etc. and that is represented by both cis and straight and LGBT politicians. The percentage of LGBT politicians is inline with the general population at anywhere from 25%-35%

The President (head of state) is a homosexual man.

The Chancellor of the Heartlands is a bisexual woman.

In addition the Chancellor of the North is haphephobic, and although this is not a sexual orientation, he has openly admitted to never having engaged in any kind of sexual activity with anyone.

Numerous others in the Federal Council and Regional Assemblies are LGBT. Hardly anyone bats an eyelid at it.

No person in the Oreslandian government is LGBT. But there is a lot of support for it in the main opposition party and some Conservatives accept LGBT persons, but don't have any intentions of legalizing same-sex marriage.

No openly LGBT person has ever been elected here, nor has there ever been any openly LGBT person in any staff position, seeing as how such a thing would not be accepted by an overwhelming majority of people. A total of five staffers have been forced out of various positions at all levels of government since 1950 after being outed, in addition to one city councillor. Rumors have been circulating about several other elected and unelected people who served throughout the nation's history.

None have been elected so far. However, they are fully allowed to be in government, and most voters pay attention to merit and policies of candidates, rather than what demographic they fall into, so, while this hasn't happened yet, it could happen at any time in the future.

Society isn't to the point where they're ready to hang every gay person they see, the roaring twenties turned basically all of society into liberals. However, there hasn't been a single gay candidate for any position of government because none of them really wanted to run.
