Proposed Icy Mountains Republic frontiers
The Icy Mountains are a mountainous and cold region to the south end of Coldfield; Is both the coldest and highest region of the country and home to 2 million people. The region has two separatist movements: the Icy Mountains People's Action, a communist movement that aims to establish a sovereign state in the region whose capital would be the city of Amaranthinos. The opposition to the ICPA are The Wardens, an economically liberal yet socially conservative movement that seeks to put into practice the native religion as a state religion, also basing the Constitution on religious laws. It is notable that the former was always more violent, while the latter ended their armed movement at the end of the Great Internal War in 1957.
75% of the region is inhabited by Native Coldfieldians, a population who possess the ability to control time, death, air, earth, fire, and water. The economy is led by minerals extraction and the production of foods such as cheese and Shezdamia; and plantations of Mountain Parsley and Druperage.
The conflict reached its peak with the beginning of the Great Internal War, when then king Hildred Meyer expressed his desire to expel all "non homo-niveus" to beyond the southern border (with the mortal Purple Forest as final destination) or to forced labor camps; In this list were included the natives, who began a rebellion against the reign to establish their own nation. The movement inspired other smaller movements, such as Nueva Hispania (to west of the southern mountains) and the New Hellenic Republic (to northeast of the mountains). The war ended in the Conquest of Siegecity (base of operations for the ICPA) in August 1957, but the separatists never ceased their activities.
If Icy Mountains voted to leave:
The people will choose between two parties: the ICPA and The Wardens.
ICPA: Region will become fully independent;
No freedom of movement between the new country and Coldfield;
Limited foreign industries or investors allowed (Coldfieldian companies banned from entering the country);
Will not join the Multiversal Non-aggression Pact, remaining isolated from the rest of the multiverse;
Amaranthinos as head of state;
Capital transferred to Amaranthinos City.
Policies: Pro-choice, Universal Income, outlaw gun ownership, religious freedom, outlaw private schools and home schooling, universal Healthcare, LGBT+ rights, high taxes on imports, strong military, better welfare, nationalize all industries and services, restrict magical abilities. Single-party democracy.
The Wardens: Region will become fully independent;
Freedom of movement between the republic and Coldfield;
Foreign industries and investors allowed;
Will join the Multiversal Non-aggression Pact;
Cryo as head of state;
Siegecity as the capital city.
Policies: Pro-life, progressive Income Tax, firearms permit, (soft) ethnic nationalism, Free Trade, international neutrality, lower taxes, immigration and defense arrangement with Coldfield, national curriculum reform, little restriction on magical abilities. Democratic Presidential republic.
If Icy Mountains voted to remain:
The region will become autonomous;
Heavy military presence in the region to prevent terrorism;
Sorcerers allowed in the military;
40% of all industries and services profits will be given directly to the Regional Administration Council treasury;
The population will have the right to elect a governor (regional president) every four years;
Siegecity as the capital city.
